Food was acceptable but not the meal we have had at the forner Dean's Seafood.
Coffee was not refilled. We had to ask for a bread or rolls.
Excellent food. Our only issue was that appetizers, bread , drinks came out then less than 5 minutes our food came out!!
Both food and drinks were excellent. Everyone had a great time and will go back again. Paid a little more than I would have liked, but quality and service were great.
Dinner was good. Enjoyed local products. Quiet for a Friday night. Food was worth going back for. Local Beer options were great. We were able to get quick table on Open table.
Disappointing visit. Kitchen seemed hurried. Entrees arrived before appetizer. Wife's salmon undercooked. Manager was great and did his best to salvage the evening.
Food quality has decreased at brunch. We will not be back
My gin and tonic was on the small side with lots of ice and little to no tonic. CRB dip appetizer didn’t have much taste or crab. Scallops were slightly charred so they were a little bitter. Big let down after having a fabulous meal there a year ago.
Staff and service were terrific. Charcuterie was great and well prepared.
I was surprised when the short rib arrived however. The entire plate appeared to have been sitting under a heat lamp for about 20 minutes. The beef was dry and the "whipped" potatoes had the same consistency as play dough. It was presented with roasted brussel sprouts that were at room temperature. I couldn't eat it. Most puzzling, was the appearance of the dish that obviously showed age and dryness on the meat and potatoes. Why the expo would look at this and allow it to go out is amazing. The risotto was good , and we told them the beef was a rough experience. Wait staff were great, tipped well, but won't be back anytime soon
Nice spot for a evening out. Great food and drinks.
Deans was good overall, I would recommend to friends.
My family and I (9 guest) drove almost a hour for all you can eat crab legs. Our reservation was at 7pm. We received our first cluster about 8:15pm, which was cold like they had just been dipped in the boiling water and placed on the plate. We waited for the next round and overheard the next table say they were out of crab legs. We asked the waiter and he confirmed it. The manager came and said we wouldn't have to pay for what we ate (which wasn't much). Our family was very disappointed. I wouldn't recommend them doing this special again unless they planned to have enough.
We went for the all you can eat crab legs and they were awful. Came out cold or over cooked. Very slow to bring out the next batch. Didn’t remember we were there for a birthday.
Went for crab legs. They weren't as juicy and sweet as I've had them in other places. Only brought out 2 clusters at a time. By the time the server walked away, we were ready for another order. Served a load of fries trying to get you full on carbs.
Good overall experience with a group of 6 for a birthday dinner. Service was prompt and our food came out in a timely fashion. Pan seared scallops and the shrimp & grits were the favorites. There is a nice variety of entrees on the menu.
We have been long time patrons of Dean's Seafood and have hosted several special occasions at the venue. Unfortunately, our last 2 visits in early 2018 have been disappointing. Both the service and food (taste and quality) have fallen off significantly. Our server spoke so fast that he was often unintelligible and walked away before we could ask questions about the menu. We had to ask what the special of the day was, he didn't offer any information. There were several common items that the kitchen either didn't stock or were out of: the soup of the day, tabasco sauce, ranch dressing and bread for the table. We ordered a dozen oysters and asked for tabasco sauce 3 times - the waiter finally brought Texas Pete instead. Big difference between the 2 sauces on oysters. Also noticed the brussel sprouts side that is normally served crisp and roasted, arrived boiled and overcooked. The entrees were just "okay", nothing like previous visits over the years. Didn't bother with dessert - went out for ice cream instead. Sadly, probably won't be returning...
I have dined many times when it was Michael Dean's and always had a good experience but I was disappointed this time. First I think your prices for drinks were outrageous, $25.00 for two drinks is crazy. I could have had a steak for that price. I was looking forward to a great shrimp dinner but only found one selection. We asked for some bread to snack on before dinner and was informed you don't have bread. Overpriced for what you get. Disappointed and will not be going back.
Great food, good service! Will definitely be back.
First time visit and it was for Sunday brunch. LOVED the staff that was preparing omelets, pancakes, and waffles. Since it takes time to make these items to order, they entertained while preparing the food with cheery banter. I'm sure that they were thinking 'will this line EVER end,' but they were professional and greeted us warmly wanting to satisfy our requests. You have some good people, so let them know that they are appreciated. I'm ashamed to say that I didn't get their names, so make sure that the three gentlemen working that station on 2/25/18 that they did a great job. I'm accustomed to hearing moaning about standing in lines, but people were smiling and not complaining about moving slowly. AND just so ya know, I'm not related to any of the staff! LOL! Plus, the gentleman making the omelets, was on top of keeping ingredients stocked...all while flipping omelets! He just alerted staff that he needed this, that, and the other item and never missed a beat...or a flip! I will return to focus on oysters, shrimp cups, and lox/bagels. Then, I'll have to return to try your other tempting meal options. My third trip will have to be for the fried chicken. After that, I may just have to approach it alphabetically! Thanks for a great food experience!
Dean's Kitchen + Bar was great. I highly recommend the goat cheese and jalapeno grit cakes -- they are amazing. All of our dishes were wonderful and the staff was both friendly and helpful.
Everything was good except for delays in getting food. Seems to be a recurrent issue based on prior reviews. They need to solve this matter or they will lose potential new and current customers. Service was outstanding which helped with delays but sounds like they must know of kitchen delays so anticipate it happening.
Amazing food! Great menu options. Will visit again!
Did not fully enjoy for a Valentine's date, the menu was overpriced and not a good representation of our other previous Dean's experience which was outstanding.
We were not aware that the restaurant wasn’t serving their full menu for Valentine’s Day. The menu we were given was very limited (for example, only one kind of salad available and only 6 entree options). The food itself was good but considering the prices, it should have been more than just good. I feel it is grossly overpriced for what you get. Our server was also a bartender, so we had to wait a little longer than expected but just a couple of times. He was friendly and did the best he could under the circumstances, but it was too busy and the bar area was much too large to have the bartender wait on tables. Overall it was fine - it really wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t exceptional either. I’m not going to be quick to recommend it.
only a fair rating as we have dined here several times and this one was a weird experience. had a reservation and they wanted to seat us at the worst table in the place even though we noticed others available. we declined and waited to get a booth which we thought they truly didn't want to give up. The layout looks like a cafeteria in the center of the room..
Seemed like the staff wasn't trained or they weren't ready for the valentines day rush. I wanted salmon and at 6:35. our server said she thought they were already out of it?? wasn't true but she had to go ask the kitchen. If it was true, we were leaving. A few bits of brussell sprouts and cut up sweet potatoes with salmon for $25? the taste was ok but the portions were skimpy on both of our meals as my dining partner had risotto. I doubt we will return, there are better options in the area.
Haven't been since the name change. I like the new look. Went on Valentine's day. Somewhat underwhelmed. Salmon was bland, but the brussel sprouts were very good. My wife had the risotto...also rather bland. The scallops that she added to the meal we're sizeable and good though. Oysters Rockefeller we're good. Both of our drinks were good, but my Manhattan came in the smallest glass I have ever seen. I kinda thought it was a joke, but apparently that is normal there? Comes off as a lame attempt to get you to empty your glass faster and keep ordering and $10 a pop. Generally disappointed. Had much better experiences before the change. Not sure why the changed happened, but probably will not be returning. Too disappointed.
Very nice and special meal for my wife and twin daughters for valentine's day! Tasty lobster and steak, wonderful service and some fun deserts!
They have a Valentine menu, so did not have the regular food. Husband had expensive steak $ that was very greasy and I had salmon that was also very oily and undercooked (which was my fault, I should have told them not to undercook it). Menu also did not include salad and did not serve you any bread so for 2 people was expensive bill. Our fault, we should have left when we saw the regular menu was not available.
Food very good, service fair, very noisy which as we age, becomes an issue.
Food was excellent. I look forward to returning.
Great menu with a large variety. Both my wife and I (who have different preferences) were able to find several dishes on the menu that sounded good.
Great food with great service. Our waitress made excellent recommendations (which we took) and was "just right attentive." We enjoy dining in the bar area, or outdoors when the weather allows. Deans is not inexpensive, but routinely worth the occasional visit.
We decided to celebrate valentines early on Saturday. It was nice because there wasn’t a set menu & wasn’t too busy. Our server was nice but drinks and food were a little slow. We will be back again.
The service was outstanding but the food was just average.
We have been dining at Dean's thru all of its iterations...this one is by far the worst. Menu is very limited...starter salads are the worst I've ever had...entree flavor is almost non-existant...and wine selection in very disappointing. Not much more to say...oh yes, service was attentive and we'll paced. Will not return.
Dean's seems to do a makeover every year or so and change its menu about as often as I change underwear. We kind of liked it better at the old location when it was a seafood/steak place, but this newer version is also fine. We started with a passable tuna appetizer, then enjoyed the salmon and short ribs which were both great examples of those dishes. The bar server was extremely friendly and eager to please, and we took advantage of the half-price wine bottle special they have on Wednesday.
Our server Kelly was great.
We went for AYCE Crab legs.
She was on top of getting our order in and letting the kitchen know when we wanted more.
But the kitchen seemed pretty slow given the restaurant was pretty empty.
2 times part of the crab legs came out cold and one part was even still partially frozen.
I definitely do NOT blame our server for that.
It didn't bother me so much as I just didn't eat that part, but did let her know and she made sure the kitchen fixed it for the next round.
My first experience there and I was pleased with the food and service. Very relaxed and enjoyable place.
I had not realized the name had changed and obviously it was a lot more than a name change. I used to love Dean's Seafood - it was a special place. Now it has no ambience, a menu that is not great, and food that is just OK - but still priced like the special place Dean's Seafood was. The service was good - no problem there. But the rest of it just really disappointed me.
Food was very good, just the right proportions and priced well. Service was excellent!
We have visited Dean's before and enjoyed the experience so it was disappointing to return to a new menu that didn't enhance its reputation. The stuffed, prosciutto wrapped trout had no flavor at all and the rest of the dishes could be described as "fine." The service was friendly, but slow with long waits for food and drink (despite not being close to full). I hope this was just a blip so we will try again, but we won't choose Dean's to entertain guests again.
Everything was phenomenal, from food to service to ambiance. Thank you for a great evening!
