   We went to Dean’s for Mother’s Day “brunch.” Which was advertised when we booked, except we got there and brunch was either over or not offered by 12:30/12:40. We ended up ordering from the dinner menu which was fine. Dean’s has some ways to go to be a fine dining and known steak place in comparison to some of their competitors in the area. If you have a child in a stroller, we don’t advise. When we booked, I had specifically requested to please put at an area where accessible for a stroller. They first tell us we can’t bring it because it’s a fire hazard but when we said our child isn’t even old enough to hold his own head up long, they were fine, then sat us as far as possible in the corner just so we could ask multiple diners to scoot in. Way to make customers feel incredibly awkward from the start. Which here is where the cost comes in… you’re paying a decent amount for ok steak, but just ok service too. It was obviously busy, so management staff correctly. We didn’t even get bread, a side was missed, and once it got busy we didn’t see our server for most of the day. We could tell he was working hard managing a lot of tables, but the glaring gap is on management and operations. Do better. Dean’s is a good hotel steak and dinner place, but the way they were trying to sell us their cuts of meat and say how the other dishes aren’t what they’re “known” for, was a bit off to us. There are much better places for the cost that you get incredible cuts of meat and ideal service.

   We were celebrating a special occasion and Todd's thoughtfulness really made it memorable. His food recommendations didn't disappoint and we received a special surprise at the end of our service. Highly recommend!

   Food was AMAZING - the shared traffic area between the JW Marriott & Dean’s was a little chaotic, early breakfast reservations will have you commingling with travelers checking out - this could have been avoided if there wasn’t a long wait for a table. Our reservation was at 10AM, we stood around avoiding luggage and departing hotel guests until we were seated around 10:25AM, hostess was not apologetic for the wait or dysfunction. Bathroom being located down a darkened hall several feet away from the actual restaurant setting didn’t feel the greatest (seemingly shared with the hotel guest). Service was good, but by the time we ordered, they were out of fresh pressed juice & croissants, highly disappointing but the food we were able to order was delicious. Beautiful aesthetics overall once you’re actually in the restaurant but depending on your reservation time you will subject to feeling the rush off checkout businesses vs. an intimate high end (tucked away/ exclusive) dining experience. We will try again in a non-holiday.

   Seated for an hour and in that time only 1 cappuccino was delivered. Our other drinks never showed up and no sign of our appetizer either. For the last 40 minutes our server ghosted us. She didn’t visit our table once to let us know what was happening. So we got up and walked out. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. And on Mother’s Day to really rub salt in the wounds.

   Mother’s Day breakfast. Would not recommend. Sat in booth w a register behind us and listened to a new server be trained on how to input items all morning. Service spotty. Not all food arrived together - really would have liked to have cancelled side of bacon that got there after I had finished my meal. Food mediocre. Eggs in purgatory eggs overcooked, too many potatoes in ratio of stew (LOTS of potatoes!) not saucy - very dry dish. Positive steak in steak and eggs excellent although Over medium eggs undercooked with much raw egg white. Would not recommend for breakfast and particularly for Mothers Day.

   Got there a little early and they seated us before reservation . Thank you! Richard (rich) our waiter was great, very attentive and great wine suggestions.

   Incredible food and great service!! The bread alone is worth going for but the steaks will keep you there!

    We gave the highest rating to service. Jason was our waiter and he was attentive and engaging in all respects. The issue we had were with the quality and presentation of the food. We both ordered the Queen City steak and lobster tail. The steak was very tender and flavorful, and cooked to the right temperature, but both of ours arrived at the table on the cool side. The bone marrow butter had congealed on top of the steaks. For an upscale steakhouse like Dean’s, this is not acceptable. In addition we had trouble wrestling the meat out of the lobster tails. At other restaurants that serve similar lobster tails, the chef has partially or fully removed the meat from the lobster tail. Customers should not have to pick up the lobster shell and crack it to get the meat out. Jason was kind enough to bring another which was easier to remove but not as flavorful as expected. Perhaps these lobster tails had been frozen for a long time? We also would have preferred that some melted butter be brought with the lobster as is customary. To make a comparison to other steakhouses such as Ruth’s Chris or Fleming’s or The Palm where we have dined many times, we have never ever received a steak that was not hot. Ruth’s Chris for example brings the steaks on a hot platter and this is the type of presentation we hoping for. On the positive side, May 10th was our anniversary and we appreciated Jason bringing us a complimentary dessert. We are not ones to complain at restaurants, and perhaps we should have with regard to the steaks, but doing so would have put a damper on our anniversary experience.
