Had dinner with friends on a Friday night. It was our second time at de Quay for dinner. We were all very happy with the food and service. Will definitely return.

Wow. We went for their Rijstaffel Service and had a fantastic evening. The food was great and was paired with great service. Cant wait to go again.

I was drawn to this restaurant because of the monthly rijstaffel. I was so excited to find a place in Chicago that serves the Indonesian rijstaffel meal service I experienced in Amsterdam. The food and the service was great, however it wasn't what I was expecting. This was more of a Dutch food sampler than and Indonesian food sampler that would be served in The Netherlands. Although I will admit the food was good and we were very satisfied. I think I will be back on a normal night to try the regular dishes.

De Quay is one of my favorite restaurants. The service is the best I've ever experienced. I love how each employee genuinely strives to provide a wonderful experience for each patron. The level and quality of service are unique to De Quay and create a warm, comforting atmosphere in which to enjoy delicious meals. I love the variety of tastes in each dish as well. The dumplings and mussels were simply amazing. I loved my salmon entree as well. I will be visiting De Quay again and of course recommending it to everyone I know! Also, the almond spekkoek is my favorite dessert in the city (and I've had a LOT of dessert).

As a chef I am very fussy about where I eat. This was recommended by a colleague who was mentored by the owner and suggested we try it during a trip to Chicago. The restaurant is a neighborhood gem, intimate and quiet even though it was packed. Beer & wine selections were great but it was the food that stood out. The Gouda dumplings were glorious. This is a classic small plate style and everything we had was excellent. The pricing was very reasonable considering the quality of the ingredients and preparation. Highly recommended.

Really tasty. Small menu but everything was delicious. The only odd think is that there are two apps and we ordered the Pecans and then found out they were out. Very strange to be out of one of the two options at 7 pm. Would have thought that they would sub something or be more apologetic. We shared 4 entrees and they were all delicious.

I absolutely love this place. We went for the Rijstaffel service that they have the first Monday of every month and it was great! There were 8 of us and we were treated like gold. The staff is very friendly, we got extra of everything we raved about, and the food was delicious on top of it all. Fantastic time for the whole group of us to get together.

We have been to De Quay several times and have never been disappointed. This time we did all small plates so we could try several different items and it worked out wonderfully. Service is spectacular, food is delicious and unusual, wines are special. They always feature several special pours outside their normally available wines, which is a very nice touch.

It was a unique experience in terms of never having a combined Dutch and Indonesian style food. However, I'm not sure I'd go back.

de Quay was an random find on Google but it was a good one! A Dutch menu with a comfort twist. Our server Jessica was great and knew the menu well. The dumplings were a great start. My husband and I had the spare ribs and the lamb. Outstanding dishes! Then ended the meal with a carmel stroopwaffle ala mood. 👍🏻🍴❤️

The snacks were fine but skipable. They need to warm up the nuts. The dumplings were good and two people really liked the duck, I thought it was good, although I probably wouldn't order again. I was a fan of the tuna tartare, nice and bright. Lamb was also very good, especially the sausage. Didn't love the rice main dish. Chocolate cake was yummy but the chocolate Sambal sauce is disgusting. Waiter even warns you that you'll love it or hate it and I'm guessing not too many love it Lol. Luckily just a few swirls on the plate that you can easily avoid.

We had a very pleasant evening at Le Quay. Service was friendly and efficient but not cloying which was good. Food interesting and tasty although chicken main course could have been more inventive. Wine we ordered was delicious 2014 Grenache - yum! Overall a very nice experience .

Went there for brunch on Mother's Day. They only do brunch on special occasions. If you are tired of the usual Benedict-pancakes-omelette etc. routine; this is the place for you. Outstanding food in charming surroundings. The service was spot on and the wine list shows fine taste. Strongly recommend it.

The food was excellent and interesting. The wine list was wonderful. The service was truly exceptional. We had an attentive server and sommelier, both of whom were tremendously helpful. It was a great experience.

Once again, de Quay made me feel like their most important customer. This restaurant has interesting and delicious food and a terrific welcoming attitude. Our spring salad with strawberries and cilantro was refreshing and a nice counterpoint to the shrimp and mussels in coconut curry broth. Our server was very responsive and someone front of house noticed the gift bag at the table and surprised us with a complementary dessert. These people try harder and it shows. Just excellent all around.

This is quite a nice, comfortable, friendly restaurant. Would I recommend it? In fact, just today I did to a co-worker. My friend and I had out second experience there. We were happy with both and will put it on our list of 'regular' stops.

We had a very nice experience. The food was unique and delicious and the service was courteous and helpful. We needed to get out in time for a play and they adhered to our schedule without rushing us.

Food was outstanding. Two of us had the lamb and one the pork chop. Both delicious. It's a little loud, but we didn't have any trouble hearing the conversation at our table.
