Very busy but had time to enjoy wine and the courses were well paced. Makena was our server and she was very friendly, professional and added to an enjoyable meal.
Nice place. We went there Memorial Day and the place was very busy. The restaurant was only open for a couple weeks and it was obvious that they were still working through some kinks which is understandable. Even with a minor service, food and drink issues everything was very good. The food was well prepared, fresh and the entrees were delicious. Our server was a bit overwhelmed but remained very pleasant and attentive throughout the evening. I look forward to going there again and expect that the opening day gitters will settle.
Friendly staff and great food!
The service was very good, the entree's were not very good. They were just not prepared well at all. Even the house salads were poor, asked for bleu cheese, got french dressing with some chunks of bleu cheese... The wait staff was very nice and accommodating... will not go back. Was hoping to go back since it is within walking distance.
We were a party of 3. The waiter was a little slow and seemed preoccupied. But we were okay with that since we wanted to take our time. The pork chop was excellent. The stuffed fluke was ordered by the other 2 diners. The fluke was burnt on the bottom but the stuffed fluke still had good flavor. The salads were supurb.
My daughter's birthday! We had a nice dinner but the dining room was kind of drab,
The lobster in the Lobster/Shrimp Risotto was very chewy and tough. All said the food was good.
DeNinno's calls itself a "wine bar" when in fact, it is just a restaurant with a bar. Not even a wine list. I ordered a rose wine and was charged $10 for maybe 3 or 4 ounces. Food was good, portions were scarce and overpriced. That being said, I have to eat gluten free and the restaurant was very accommodating and the server very knowledgeable.
We came for restaurant week and were pleasantly surprised. We will be back
Food was very good.
Service a bit haphazard as orders were being confused between tables.
Overall, very good experience.
The food tastes about as good as an Italian cafeteria yet they charge fine dining prices. I got Italian wedding soup with nothing but broth, my pizza was basically on a pita. All of our food came out cold. If you've ever tasted good Italian good then do not go here. However if you like Italian food from a cafeteria than this is your place.
Probably could have used more than 2 servers on a Saturday night.
We have been here before and had a good experience, however, this time not so much. We had to ask for bread, it wasn't brought to our table. My son ordered the pork chop and found a piece of hair in it. We showed it to the waiter and the he brought it to the kitchen. In return, they gave my son free ice cream. Although I didn't ask for it, they should've done more. I ordered cappuccino and it tasted terrible. We weren't happy with the overall experience.
We were a party of 7 that dined at the restaurant this past Saturday evening (9/23). We brought family visiting from out-of-town. Unfortunately, the De Ninno's experience was a total disaster. It began with difficulty securing drinks from the bar. Evidently, the bartender is difficult and refused to make certain drinks for the server. My sister finally went up to the bar to investigate and the neglected drinks were finally made and delivered. After our order was placed, delivery of food was in "dribs and drabs." After soup and salad, the sever came to tell us that one of the entrees could not be prepared as ordered. A few minutes after that issue was settled, the food began to arrive one plate at a time with the re-ordered entree coming much later. The server was very apologetic and shared that she was assisting other recently hired wait-staff. We were offered complementary desserts that came one at a time and one not at all. At no point, did there seem to be someone "in-charge" to oversee the dining room or assist staff and patrons. Not sure what is going on but will not be going back again!
Great Restaurant. Food was outstanding! Menu limited.
The only good thing was the Caesar salad. My daughters ravioli with shrimp was swimming in sauce. You couldn't even see the ravioli. My husbands pasta bologna sauce was sour. My wedding soup was tasteless. The waitress had no idea what root beer was & brought my husband an o'douls. Overall not a great experience. Would not return or recommend.
Absolutely awful ! Let me begin by saying - my wine glass was sticky , my red wine was rancid .
Next we were served a basket of stale dinner rolls . The ravioli stuffed with crabmeat was swimming or should I say drowning in sauce and the crabmeat was next to invisible .
Our waitress, although very sweet , was completely inexperienced .
It just amazes me that this place is still open . I guess a lot of people don't know what good food is . Disgraceful to put an Italian name on this place .
As a long time fan of Marie Nicole's , my friends and I were happy to head over to the DeNinno's and try the newest member of their restaurant family. Cocktails at the bar, as always, awesome! Unfortunately that's where the good time ended. At the table our wine was served and we requested that our cocktail glasses be removed. That didn't happen. When the waiter returned to ask if we were ready to order we did so and again requested that the cocktail glasses be removed. Along with our appetizers came the side veggies and pasta that we ordered to accompany our entrées. We asked that they be taken back and served with our entrées. They were taken away and brought back within three minutes. Our entrées each came at different times and different temperatures which made for an awkward dinner along with our now cold sides. Specialty coffees also came at different times and all were served cold. Two came without the liqueur/whipped cream mentioned on the menu. The quality of the food in no way compared to the high standards of your other sister restaurants. The service was disjointed, disrespectful and lacking in all attention to detail. As local residents of Cape May, Marie Nicole's was always a favorite during the summer and off-season. Sadly, DeNinnio's will no longer be a destination for us.
The eggplant parm special was horrible. They had a pork chop that was very good and tasty. But the special eggplant parm wiped out ant points to be rated. I wouldnt go back. When it was really Marie Nicoles it was terriffic. Oh well.
This restaurant is very good. The food is delicious although a little pricey. Due to the cost it is not someplace you can frequent often but it is nice to go to when we go to Wildwood. The service was very good as well. A little too cool on the air conditioning on this night, but they did adjust the thermostat. The didn't have most of the beer menu they listed. However, we do like the food and will be back again.
Very dark and depressing-just as Marie Nicole's was. Food was ok but won't go back. Place needs a redo!
Absolutely awful! This was probably one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. As part of our hotel stay at the Fleur de Lis, we had dinners included at a few local restaurants - De ninno's being one of them. We knew it was the old Marie Nicole's that we loved so we decided to go there. From the moment we told them we had the dinner passes, it was suddenly a total change in the staff's demeanor - as if we were second class citizens who couldn't afford to be there. The girl bussing the tables was miserable - slamming down the rolls on the table, saying nothing and storming off. The appetizer we ordered, meatballs, was cold. It would've been great if it had been warm. We both ordered gnocchi for our dinners that was absolutely awful - it tasted like uncooked pasta with ketchup. We barely ate any which our server kindly said she'd wrap up - and then didn't even give us - ha! No need to ask for it as we never intended on eating it when we left. The one positive is the drinks were good. In spite of being made to feel completely unwelcome and the lousy food, we tipped the server well over 30 perfect. Truly the worst dining experience I've ever had!
We have been at DiNinnos 3 times since it opened. First 2 times the food was outstanding. Last time not so much. Service is great. Hoping the food is better next time.
Unfortunately our experience was not what we were hoping for. Our server was not at all attentive (almost seemed like there was a language barrier). My boyfriend was hoping for red sangria and there was none. Very easy to make, so disappointing your bartender could/would not make it. My gnocchi arrived cold. Sent it back and then it was just mushy. The margarita pizza looked like it was frozen from a food store. The Sauvignon blanc and cheesecake were very good but we would not rush back or recommend to friends.
It was our 2nd time dining at De Ninno's and our experience was similar to the first. The food was excellent; however, the service was slow and clunky. We waited too long to be waited on and for our food. Food was not delivered together so there were many moments when some of us with food were waiting for others to have their food to be served.
Overall, it was a good experience but not great because of the slow service. We will likely go back but certainly not for a special occasion for which one would expect all to be perfect.
Food was superb! Went here for date night with my fiance and everything was delicious, from the bread to the salad to our entrees.
Had a difficult time getting a reservation; therefore, had to take a 5:00 seating. We were the only ones in there for quite some time. Our dinners had way too much garlic in the sauce to the point that we couldn't finish the meal. Long time diner at Marie Nicole's, but won't go back to DeNinno's. Also, with a forced 5:00 reservation, you would think that we could have an early bird special- they don't offer it as I was told by the waitress. Very disappointed!
Good service-Elena was wonderful.
However we sat across from an obnoxious, drunk table of 4 who were very loud and rude. It's a shame the other waitress kept serving them alcohol.
Food was good.
Wonderful place but menu has limitations if you want seafood and specials. Went twice in a week and liked our choices.
The food was good, but overshadowed by the server's comments that the boss said they needed our table, as she left the check before we received our coffee & desserts. The server returned with the same comment, apologizing, as she attempted to clear the table while we were still eating our dessert, actually grabbing a plate as one of our party still had a fork in his hand. It was exceptionally rude. The ironic thing is that we waited quite a while for our dinner course to be served.
When we were leaving, I asked the hostess for contact info. She flippantly told me it was on their website.
I realize it was the end of restaurant week, however, there was no indication of separate seatings when I made the reservation and no other table seemed to be rushed.
Overall, we found the dining room to be dark and loud. The food was good, the server and other wait staff were attentive prior to the experience described above.
We wondered why a manager or hostess would direct a server to take on the task of rushing us out...and not do it themselves.
Disappointing, we had high expectations from the owners of Marie Nicole's, North End American Grill, etc. I doubt we will venture back. Fortunately for us, there are a lot of really good Italian restaurants in Cape May County.
Food and service were excellent. No complaints. Can't wait to go back and try something else
This restaurant was one of our favorites when it was Marie Nicole's. We were a little disappointed during our visit. Service was excellent, but the good wasn't as good as in the past. May give it one more try, but not really expecting better.
This was our first visit and we ordered from the Restaurant Week Menu. We were very pleased with our meals (Pork Chop & Rigatoni) as well as our appetizers and desert. The portions are rather large and provided a second meal at home. We would highly recommend. Our server, Laura, was very attentive to our needs.
First time in, worth the drive down from Ocean City. Food was fantastic as well as the service provided.
Love those $15 bottles of wine too.
We'll be back.
Tremendous value for Restaurant Week promotion. Meat and cheese board app very good, as were the meatballs. The Italian Wedding soup was excellent. The Cesar salad was good, but actually too big. The dressing needed something. The rigatoni with bolognese sauce was very good; the sauce very hearty. The gelato was very good.
Downside was that the well-stocked bar had no Merlot at all. Really ?
Also, while not the fault of the restaurant, were seated near party where two gentlemen were having a rather loud disagreement; at first amusing but became annoying.
Recommend outdoor seating. Not very scenic, but much more comfortable and spacious.
Certainly a favorable experience and never felt tourist-y, even for a local.
Friendly quiet restaurant. Second time dining there with friends. Both times meal and service were very good. Great steak on first visit and enjoyed a great tasting (and very large) lasagna dinner (Sunday special).
I can't recommend DeNinnos. Food was average, service was average and it was way too cold and dark inside. Tip...nix the rosemary, it has no place in spaghetti sauce. Too much cheese on pizza.
Good experience, good food and service. Found it to be a little noisy but it was a good dining experience.
I wish that the owners hadn't chosen to move Marie Nicole's & try this new direction. Yes, the food was tasty but it all felt so pedestrian. Marie Nicole's had flair. Now Diamond Beach's only pretender to gastronomy is Coastal Blue... if you can bear the uneven (mostly awful) service.
I'm so sorry that they went in this new direction.
They were very nice and accommodating. Amazing waitress Megan and amazing food. Only down side for us was price seem a bit more then the $ listed on the app but it was a great meal.
