Amazing experience here with friends. Dina our server took excellent care of us and had great recommendations for food and drink. Chef Cristina has done a superb job with the menus there. We recommend choosing items off of the Gardens menu and the De La Tierra menu. We will definitely be back!
We had dinner at De La Terra on Labor Day before the Sting Concert. The food was delicious and our waiter was so helpful. Now we have a beautiful resort to stay in on our next trip to Taos.
Cameron was our server two times and he was helpful, personable and is an asset to your team!
We shared with our visitors a wonderful, delicious leisurely brunch followed by a walk around the 3rd floor to look at an art exhibit and the nice conference rooms there. Afterwards, we walked in the park-like area with ponds and beautiful trees and other plants, and sat for awhile on benches to talk and enjoy the lovely peacefulness. The rest of town was very crowded for a music event being held in a nearby venue, so we thoroughly enjoyed our uncrowded time at El Monte Sagrado. Staff and servers were all gracious, engaging and professional. We have been coming to El Monte Sagrado for many years, and it is an especially nice place to entertain out-of-town guests.
I have eaten here pretty much since it began around 2004. Sometimes it has been OK and others a bit iffy. I haven’t been in several years because of this. I heard of the exec chef had been replaced and things had improved so I decided to come back. I’m glad I did because they have really stepped up their game. My wife and I had a wonderful meal and great service. I know the locals have never liked the place very much and most nights look pretty slow. If they maintain their current effort I think they will be rewarded (Taos is slow to catch on). The wine list could stand some improvement but overall I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Amazing food! Top notch service. Great ambiance
Good food, good service, good atmosphere. The ricotta was great. I had the duck, which was cooked perfectly. My wife had the veal. We will be going back
A bartender recommended the sake salmon and it was delicious! Would definitely go back to this restaurant. So convenient that it is located in El Monte Sagrado Hotel.
Very well maintained and scenic grounds. The resort reflected the beauty of the landscape. The food was excellent. We were provided with complimentary champagne and desserts with our meal to celebrate our birthdays. Our check in to the restaurant was superb and our server Jace was a delight. We will be back next year
Visited on a Monday evening when main/ upscale dining room closed, to our surprise. The Anaconda Room has a casual menu. My Bison enchiladas were delicious and my companions burger were fine. My knock on the meal is service. I order a salad with dressing on the side and it came on the salad. The salad did not arrive so I asked the server about the delay. If I had not asked it would have come simultaneous with the main meal as if that was the norm. Post my asking the salad was immediately delivered.
Space for the brunch was beautiful! And service was excellent. However, coffee was cold and buffet had no fresh fruit. Maybe chocolate dip strawberries or something similar would have been nice on dessert.
Ordered bison short ribs. Served cool and tough not tender. Suspect it was not cooked correctly. Service best described as non attentive. Had to hail the waiter for every need. To be fair my wife’s food was good she had trout, very tasty.
I had the Brussels sprouts and lobster pot pie. Both were delicious! The restaurant is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. We loved our stay at this very relaxing resort. We highly recommend it!
Excellent, tasty food, with good and healthy choice. Portions absurdly big. Simply not healthy, and if you stay in a hotel you don’t want to take tomorrow’s dinner home in a box! One let down: whiskey salmon small plate had almost no salmon. Nice environment but chairs are so big they are hard to manoeuvre. Excellent food is best reason to go to this restaurant.
Did not offer much in terms of vegetarian options, didn’t have anything available for a vegan and did not offer to have the chef prepare something for our vegan diner. Otherwise a nice meal
By far the best dining experience of our visit. Prime rib was cooked perfectly. Ziti was excellent, as were the sides of haricot verts, mashed potatoes, rice pilaf and roasted potatoes. The champagne vinaigrette for the salad was amazing. The ambiance was lovely with a harpist in the room. But the dessert table stole the show. Petit fours, amazing cheesecake, cupcakes, pecan pie, you name it and by all accounts everything was perfect. Much better than the Christmas Eve dinner which can easily be bypassed in favor of this meal. And the service was bar none.
Had a great experience Thanksgiving buffet-When asked, I was assured that there would be a Christmas noon Buffet, so I went on line made an open table reservation for 11:30 AM. Upon arrival , no buffet, still serving breakfast . Our son was visiting from Mexico, so what does one do, where else in Taos would we go since we are from Texas and do not know the restaurants. So we were seated and the menu selection for Christmas dinner was horrible...With tip 130.00 dollars down the drain and I certainly did not need a reservation since there were many "open Tables"
The Christmas Eve Prix Fix menu has multiple options, but was not well executed. Carrot appetizer tasted of faux smoke seasoning. Olive appetizer was better. The possible needed salt and was missing something, namely the pork and chiles. The beef tenderloin tasted as if it was grilled with the reduction sauce that rendered the char tasting like ash. The flourless chocolate cake was ok. The fruit compote was the best part. Bypass the Christmas Eve dinner but don’t miss the Christmas Day buffet which I review separately and give 5 stars.
We had originally booked at another hotel in Taos. After coming here to eat, the atmosphere was so peaceful and glorious we went back to the hotel, packed up our bags and checked for a fabulous four nite stay! The food is delicious but be prepared to get I to the slow pace of Taos. Service is relaxed so slow down and enjoy. Love love love this hotel and all the meaningful values it promotes.
Good for pretentious setting, super-nice staff. The dining is only so-so.
Wonderful dining experience!!!
A lovely find while day tripping in Taos. The El Monte Sagado Resort is just beautiful and the De La Tierra restaurant looks like a beautiful garden courtyard. Our lunch was very relaxing after a long morning of touring the Taos Pueblo and vicinity. Our table was waiting for us when we arrived, and the service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. Our family of four enjoyed all of our entrees ordered and there is a nice menu selection to choose from. We would definitely recommend the De La Tierra restaurant to anyone visiting Taos.
Casual dining area vs. elegant options - food was well prepared and good. Bar is very unique, with music on some nights.
We had our wedding at El Monte Sagrado and a morning after brunch at De La Tierra and it was positively lovely. The food was delicious, well plated, contained fresh ingredients, and arrived quickly. We also fined here for dinner and it was just as wonderful.
We had a lovely meal at De La Tierra after a full day of hiking and pampering at the spa. It was so very nice to unwind and enjoy delicious food.
By far the very best meal we had in Taos. Truly casual elegant with BIG portions at reasonable prices. Server Tracey was professional and pleasant. The extraordinary decor of the entire hotel simply blew us away...be sure you walk around the pond out back! Free valet parking.
This restaurant has a beautiful, majestic interior, which is perfect for special occasions. Food portions are large and well-presented. I think I probably ordered one of the less interesting entrees, the shrimp spring vegetable bowl. It came as a huge mound of noodles covered with a generous serving of vegetables and a row of good-sized shrimp. With a little bit more seasoning, it would have been perfect, but it was on the bland side. My friends were very happy with their meals and we enjoyed an excellent chardonnay to accompany our food. Service was topnotch and it was a wonderful dining experience overall.
Both my wife and I HP ate lite with salads, soup and Swedish meatballs. All was very good. The service was very good and friendly.
Service was extremely slow.. the restaurant was not busy at all with a total of 4 sets of diners during our experience. It took a long time to be waited on and then a very long time to receive our drink order and finally our food order. We sat patiently waiting for our check after we were finished but the waitress was slow in attending to us. The entre selection was very limited. The entres we selected were not worth the price. We will not be returning to De La Tierra at El Monte Sagrado.
Carlos was a great server. The new chef Christina Martinez knows her stuff!!! Everything was delicious. We had the brie for an appetizer and I had the beef tenderloin. So flavorful and tender. FYI the menu I saw online had a chicken dish. That menu is out of date and there was no chicken dish available. Also the valets were awesome. My mom and I walked there when it was still light out but the streets had poor lighting on the way back and one of the valets offered to drive us back to our room at the historic Taos Inn. Great all around experience!
Surrounded by the elegance of the El Monte Sagrado Resort, De La Tierra matches the ambiance with inspired cuisine and impeccable service. Duck breast was particularly memorable. Only a pedestrian and over-priced wine list (even for this locale) detracted from an otherwise outstanding experience.
This is a very nice restaurant with a great cocktail list and great food. The service was a little slow but fortunately we had no other plans that night.
Ambiance over the top! Beautiful hotel and restaurant.
Excellent creative SW cuisine with friendly and professional service. Chef Cristina Marine is a special talent.
Delightful breakfast in the garden room. Wonderful way to start the day.
Delicious food. Beautiful setting.
Beautiful room and elegant seating. Innovative menu and classy presentation. We’re going again.
Went for Easter Sunday brunch. We were greeted in a very friendly and seated immediately. The waitress, who was from San Antonio, greeted us with funny "bunny" jokes. The edamame quinoa salad was very delicious, and compliments to the chef for that dish and the desserts. This place was very nice for the price and the food. Highly recommend this place.
We were going to eat in town . But staying at hotel was so much easier. Exceeded expectations.
Dinning room is amazing in deco and the chairs are very comfortable for a long diner.
It was the 18th birthday of my son and they offered the piece of cake and candle to celebrate it.
Very good service and we had a very good diner.
The food is very good and presentation in the plate were beautiful.
