Recently visited De havilland Arms for my birthday. Hadn’t been before but it looked so appealing in the online photos and the menu covered every option I was looking for. I was extremely happy we went here. I had the Sunday roast beef and hubby had a burger. Both were delicious, reasonably priced and service was excellent. The pub has a lovely cosy feel, mixing traditional and modern. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Went on a Sunday afternoon so it was very busy but managed to get a lovely table away from the noisy bar area full of families with lots of children. We had the roasts which were good and plentiful but service was lacking due to it being busy I guess. Ordered garlic bread to start which for some reason came with the mains. Sent it back and were not charged for it but what a silly mistake. Have been here before and enjoyed it and will go again im sure as food and service is normally good.

Booked in advance to ensure we had a table for our ‘friends get together’ Glad I did as it was very busy. Slightly disappointed with the size of the table we were allocated as initially it was required for 5 people but we had a table for 4 with an added chair put to the end. We did end up as a 4 which was just as well otherwise the table would have been quite snug with all the plates. Apart from that, lovely service, food was enjoyable and we had a good evening.

Unfortunately a fryer was broken therefore that reduced the menu, the two fish pies ordered were burnt and fish off and the steak was tough and not well cooked. Apologies were made but no offer of a bill reduction of any sort. We will not be returning.

came for dinner with friends, we were shown to our reserved table and seemed to be forgotten about as other customers who came in after us were waited on / served before us. having sat there for approx 45 mins waiting for our food to arrive one meal was completely wrong and another had items missing. we spoke to the manager who apologised and offered us complementary coffees , however these didn't arrive either. I understand that there was an incident in bar area which caused the absent of our coffees. a disappointing visit to a place that my husband and I regularly use I do hope that the refurbishment doesn't mean a drop in standards .

Familiar, comforting food. The De Havilland has undergone a recent refurbishment that has opened up the restaurant area so that it appears to be more airy and spacious with large windows whilst not losing its original charm. My friends and I met for Sunday lunch. The roast beef was medium rare as requested; the Yorkshire pudding was ginormous; and the roast potatoes perfectly fluffy. We had to wait a little while for the 3rd meal, but they brought it quickly enough once we reminded them it was missing. The service was relaxed and unobtrusive. All in all a relaxed Sunday lunch.

Whilst the service was excellent the food was very disappointing, and I do feel that the recent refurb has done nothing for the place other than to open it up for more families with children. It feels more like a loud harvester style restaurant than a relaxing drinking / dining for adults.

Food and wine very good, very tasty and served piping hot with veggies nice and hot too. The children's chicken pie was very tasty with very nice pieces of chicken in and not swimming in too much sauce which can be the case. Desserts were very tasty too. Our waitress was not as good as the one we had two weeks ago. She was inattentive and more interested in cleaning the empty tables and sweeping the floor. We had to ask her each time we needed something even though the place was not at all full at the time we went. When she brought the wine she just plonked it on the table with some glasses and walked away. Our waitress on the previous visit was super, no comparison this time. Poor service can put people off returning somewhere despite the food being good.

I have lived on the Heath for eight years and at last the De Havilland Arms has a great atmosphere and decent food. Congrats to the new landlords who have created a local pub that I will be regular visitor of.
