DC Pasta Ratings and Reviews
Limited Menu choices. If you order pasta, get the large portion because the small portion is a child's size. Even the large, I had expected to take some home, was not generous. Friend ordered sm ravoli and got 3 . Food was nothing exceptional. The place was half empty so we did not need our reservations. Service was good. But everything was ala carte except the dinner choices of which there was only 6 options. Would not dine there again, too many other Italian places in the area that give you more value for your dollar and taste better.
Pasta bolognese and cavatelli with spicy sausage were outstanding; the full serving was plenty for any appetite. Meatball was delicious and the wines by the glass were very good also. The vegetarian pasta ragu lacked flavor and there was too much eggplant. Atmosphere was loud for a weeknight.
Downside was the mediocre service; the waiter was not familiar with the ingredients or flavor profile of some of the dishes. He read directly from one of the guest's menus which was of no help at all. Service was slow to start with and not as attentive as the better restaurants we've been too.
We wanted to relax and enjoy the evening as there was no rush. However looks like the waiter was in a big hurry. Barely full. We wanted to order apps and wine- never heard we can't just do that before. We had to order even entrees. He insisted that we make that choice as the kitchen needs courses. 12 guests in your restaurant and your kitchen can't handle that amount of business ??? So bizzare. Ended up ordering the food. The meal was tasty , half way into the apps the entrees arrive - where did your urgency of coursing a meal go ? Felt so rushed. Not sure if I would recommend or return.
food was outstanding, the hot pepper sausage was hot and excellent and the pasta dishes were
terrific. however I was a little disappointed that there were no veal dishes. The calamari was very light and enjoyed by all. The four of us all had different dishes and they all were served pipping hot and timely .
We love DBA in Akron, thought we would try another restaurant in the Dante group. We had an excellent dining experience, food was great. I would say our favorite part were the meatballs, but it was all wonderful. The only thing I found surprising was that they were not busier... I felt sort of confused about that. The lack of traffic def didn't affect the quality and freshness of the food. In a busy area like Strongsville, this is truly a hidden gem.
We came here for a casual dinner out with my parents. The service from the moment we walked in until we left was absolutely superb and the food was excellent, and included all house-made pastas. The ambiance was cozy with just the right amount of background music. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
We went there for a date night and had a very nice meal. The food was good; the homemade pasta was fantastic and highly recommended. Our server took the time to explain the menu options and make recommendations since it was our first time. We received excellent service and enjoyed our evening out.
Since returning from Delaware just over a year ago, we've made DC Pasta a regular in our date Night favorite rotation. We drive from Westlake and every minute of the drive is worth it. We get fantastic service and the atmosphere is quiet and always appropriate for a nice date night. We recommend D.C. Pasta.
DC Pasta is not of the typical "Dante quality" and was nowhere near as good as it was the last time I ate there about a year ago. The 3 Caesar salads were water logged and therefore the dressing didn't stick to the lettuce and it was very watery. Pasta plate presentations were very messy. Although the homemade noodles were perfectly cooked al dente, the carbonara was overly sauced with the noodles swimming in the sauce. The sausage in the sausage pasta was oddly cut in weird pieces and it was oily. For what we ordered, it was underrated and over priced.
The restaurant was mediocre at best. We read that this was Dante's restaurant and honestly had high hopes for the food quality and taste. Both the pasta dishes we ordered were really bland. The service was really good but food not up to par. We spent $90 dollars this was including a bottle of wine (30) so not cheap by any means, and we're really not satisfied. I really think there are other Italian restaurants that might be better at least from a taste perspective. I would rate this place not very high.
I always enjoy DC Pasta. . .whether w/business clients or family it's a very good experience. The staff is friendly and helpful, the wine options, while not over the top, are reasonably valued. I haven't had a pasta dish there that wasn't at least very good and some of the other entrees are also quite nice!
Our first time at DC Pasta. The meatballs were the best I have ever tasted!! Not your typical Italian Food Restaurant, definitely upscale gourmet Italian. If your looking for your mamma's traditional spaghetti and meatballs, this is not the place. If your looking for something special and extraordinary this is the place. Our server was great, but it took over 45 minutes for us to get our entrees and we did not have appetizers.
Last time I was there I have the egg plant was amazing and this time the egg plant was tough and chewy and not the same as in February. Also it seems that the portions are getting smaller I think for the money you could give a bigger salad and then the chicken marsala was great but again small portions
After one of the most stellar dining experiences I've ever had at Dante, I had some unrealistic expectations for this member of the Dante Dining Group. While this location doesn't measure up to the Tremont flagship in terms of ambiance and the quality of the fare, that only puts it in the bottom 95 percent of local eateries. While it may not reach the same culinary heights, DC Pasta delivers exceptional food. An excellent selection of options from start to finish are on the menu, but I loved that they were willing to work off the menu for a couple of picky eaters at home with the sitter. Everything we ordered was exceptionally well prepared, and the dishes large enough to satisfy. In fact, we brought home quite a bit in leftovers, in spite of our gorging. The restaurant is a little tucked away in its location, but hardly difficult to find. The only complaint I would make is regarding the prices. To be clear, I would not consider the menu to be overpriced, as everything was stellar in quality. But, prices are at the higher end, even considering the authenticity and quality of the dishes. Small complaint, considering how satisfying our experience was.
