DBGB is Chef Daniel Boulud's casual restaurant specializing in seasonal Lyonnais-inspired bistro cuisine. Located at CityCenter in the Penn Quarter, DBGB is a short walk to the Convention Center, Verizon Center, and The White House. We serve dinner seven nights a week, lunch Monday to Friday, and brunch on the weekends in a casual yet comfortable setting. Bar and lounge seating is always available and walk-ins are encouraged. Two spacious private rooms accommodating from 12-50 people are located on our second floor. We also host smaller groups with personalized prix-fixe menus in our main dining room. We look forward to serving you!

My food was very good although I ordered my burger medium and it was really well done. I did not have time to wait for another. My server, who was the bartender was lovely, he checked on me often enough, even though I was at a table (not the bar) and was friendly and accommodating. He gets 5 stars. The host staff was cold to the point of being kind of rude. When I checked in the host seemed bothered I was there and was not even remotely friendly. Another host was there when I left and did not even look up to thank me or say good bye. Bad first and last impression.

Great food. Scallop was sweat and buttery. Tomahawk steak was immense and perfectly cooked. The raw apps (tuna and tartare) both excellent. Service was top notch, the chef came OT and talked with us for about 6 minutes was a great touch.

Had a wonderful night out for my birthday at DBGB! The menu was a fresh take on classic French favorites. Our table was ready as soon as we arrived, and no time was wasted getting us our menus, and bread for the table. Our server was friendly and attentive for our entire visit. To start, we shared the escargots, and were brought chilled asparagus soup compliments of the chef. Our entrees were the Singapore Duck and Dayboat scallops. Both were delicious, and we cleaned our plates.

They graciously brought out a dessert of my choice on the house. The strawberry rhubarb cheesecake was the perfect blend of sweet and tart. Bonus - they make a great cup of coffee. We will definitely be back to try brunch some time!

The food was great but the service was not. I asked for some coffee and beignets to start. The server never came to check if we needed a refill. Obviously he was more busy with his next table of 8 next to us. The table has not been cleaned before our entrees were served. We had small plates, my coffee mug and the beignet dish . My husband ordered eggs Florentine with Crab cakes. No Crab cakes came with his eggs. We were feeling abandoned. I love the Daniel Boulud’s restaurants and I was disappointed with this brand experience in DC.

I went here for Mother’s Day brunch and everyone was so welcoming and so kind. Not to mention, the food was amazing & our waitress was extremely attentive. I will be returning and recommending friends & family.

I walked in the door because it’s Daniel Boulud. I stayed because it was delicious and perfect. Service befitting a neighborhood brasserie, too. The front room, where our party of 5 ate, had energy with the bar, but it wasn’t overwhelming. In all, it was just the right place to have a group of friends around a table.

We went here for dinner and was seated at a table close to the bar. Very comfortable. The wine selection was good. A number of French wines of good quality. Had a pea soup which was very smooth but a little herbal. The escargot was very tasty and I would recommend it. The star however was the duck entree. Duck confit rice with very tender duck breast. It was extremely delicious.

We had requested to be seated in a location towards the back because we had a group of 9. When we arrived we were seated in the front in a more crowded area. The hostess was very accommodating and friendly and immediately arranged for other seating in our requested location. Our waiter was so-so. The food was good, but the menu was limited.

First and foremost, restaurant is in the City Center in the heart of Downtown DC and was walking distance from our hotel. Wait Service was great although the initial look by the hostess when we were carrying our baby in was of confusion as this is a restaurant not frequented by many families with younger children (I assume). Once we were sat down, we were kindly greeted and placed our orders in. After the complimentary bread loaf starter, we had our scallops, Singaporean Chicken and Blue Crab Spaghettini with our sides of asparagus and mixed mesclun salad. All of the Food was great, even the salad was a nice mix of textures. Beer and wine selections were also very good but I stuck to the ones I knew. And to the two individuals who moved tables right when we sat down with a baby...sorry for causing you to move. If you had kids, you would understand families still like to eat out at restaurants too

I enjoyed the location and service. The waitstaff was lovely and attentive. The food was average. I had the Eggs Florentine over a crab cake. It was forgettable.

The food, service, and ambiance were all excellent. To start, we split a delicious tuna tartare, then one had the blue crab spaghettini and the other the halibut. To finish the meal we shared a cheese course. A good meal was turned into a memorable experience thanks to the attentiveness of the sommelier and his thoughtful suggestions.

Great french food, love eating here. The bread was great and the drinks are phenomenal. Loved everything we ordered especially the baked Alaska. I would come here just for the baked Alaska.

Words can’t describe the quality of service, the atmosphere and of course the food. From the bread served crispy on the outside to warm inside, the escargot was absolutely perfect. The scallops were perfectly cooked and delicious. And the desert was incredible.

Food was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant as long as you don't mind an incomplete meal, the waiter being not familiar enough with the menu, and s l o w service.

Perfect. They have this great asparagus salad with a crusted full egg that was delicious. The duck breast is amazing. Great chef and great service!

Service was superlative. Friendly, prompt, non-intrusive but attentive. Dinner for companion was delicious, my dish was monochromatic white. Would choose a different entree.

I had tried this place a couple of years ago and was not wild about it. Friends wanted to eat there and it has improved drastically. However, it is pricey for what it is. The cheapest thing on the dinner menu was a $22 hamburger. But all the food was good, except the arugula salad which was nothing special. We had the pea soup, the special soup, an asparagus volute with lobster, the asparagus salad (very good), the crab cake (not that good), the chicken and the petit pois. The drinks were perfect- gin and tonic, aperol spritz, dry martini.

The tuna appetizer was delicious and the blue crab spaghettini was perfectly seasoned. I would recommend a half order of the spaghettini even as an entree since it is so large -- I really appreciated the waiter for suggesting a half order was available. We also ordered wine by the glass and the waiter enthusiastically brought different wines by the glass to sample before we ordered. Excellent food, excellent service, excellent location.

Once we got past the pompous front desk everything was fine. We arrived 45 minutes early for our reservation and were told they could not seat us now but our table would be available at 7:30. We went to the bar for a drink. Off the side of the bar were several empty tables. Wouldn’t you know, that at 7:30, when we were being seated in one of those empty tables. We took the table and the remaining tables stayed open the entire time we were there. Was it just a control thing?? Thank goodness for the delightful waitress. Her personality took the bite out of the front desk attitude. And the rest of the evening was good.
The branzino for two was tasty but just a bit dry.

Normally, DBGB has been quite good to me. This trip, the service was awful, likely because they were severely understaffed. It took too long to get our first drinks. 10 minutes after half the table finished one appetizer and everyone finished a first round, it took another ten minutes before we found a waiter to cancel the unserved appetizer and order wine. For the prices they charge, the service was abysmal.

We sat at the bar. Very cool place to eat french food, not pretentious, no white table cloths, very hip vibe. From the tar tar to the escargot, the drinks the califlower... Truly excellent, busy place, great service. We have high expectations and they exceeded them, will go again

Just have lunch at the bar! a terrific lunch menu with the best frieze salad I've had. Terrific Somme and a very good wine by the glass program. Also check out the 3 course lunch.

This chic-looking restaurant carries the famous Daniel Bouloud name. But it was not a memorable experience for use. We arrived at 6:05 PM on a Sunday, 10 minutes before our 6:15 PM reservation. We shared a crab cake appetizer, which was good--but not as good as some of the broiled crab cakes we've had in other restaurants-- and the DBGB crab cake was definitely over-priced. My husband had a duck entree, which was very good. I ordered the halibut, which they had already run out of by 6:15 PM, so they substituted rock fish. It seems odd to run out of a main dish so early in the evening. Although our server was prompt and very nice, we did not receive our entree until 7:05 PM, one hour after we arrived. The restaurant was less than half full, so I don't know why it took so long to arrive. I asked the server if the entrees came with enough vegetables to be satisfied, and she said they did. However, my rock fish had very few vegetables. We then ordered a side of cauliflower, which was served promptly. The cauliflower was very tasty, but swimming in oil.

Cowboy ribeye was good not great. Loved pommes puree, veggies delicious. Very busy on a Saturday and perhaps service could’ve been more efficient.
