Great service and great food.
Everything was fabulous! Server was very polite and has a great sense of humor. Food was fantastic!
This was my second visit to DBGB, it was an excellent experience on both occasions, and I travelled 250+ miles (which should tell you something about the quality of the food and service).
Love this place. Never disappointed
I did the executive lunch which was celery soup, a burger and dessert. All very good. Service was great.
Very exceptional service. The host took our coats and got us seated quickly. My girlfriend and I had the charcuterie board, which was phenomenal. Our waiter, Alexei, gave us a great wine recommendation that paired nicely with our dinners. Our entrees were nothing short of exquisite. The Duck L’Orange was perfectly prepared as was my girlfriend’s Lamb Shank. However, Dessert literally took the cake. The Baked Alaskan was the primary reason we chose this restaurant, and it certainly didn’t disappoint! I would absolutely eat here again and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fine dining experience in DC.
I was a bit underwhelmed by the food--this is, after all, a Boulud restaurant! Ordered the mushroom soup for the first course--it was very thick and rather bland. The steak frites was also a disappointment. Steak was perfectly cooked but over-salted. The fries, however, were perfect and ended up being the best part of the meal. But I expect more from a Boulud restaurant.
The food we ordered was outstanding, particularly the artichokes, and the mushroom bisque and celery root veloute. Despite some confusion when another diner suffered a medical crisis, staff responded calmly and professionally to the crisis.
We really enjoyed the breakfast pastries. The entrees were decent. They got my wife's order wrong but soon remedied it. Service was a little slow to be honest, but it was pretty full restaurant. Prices were probably about $3 to $4 higher than they should be, but it is located right in Center City DC, so you do pay for the location.
I wish the restaurant kept their daily menu when there's an event such as Valentine's Day. This is due to others might not be in favor of the special event menu they had offered. This gave a strict appearance to us as this was our first time in the restaurant. We won't be coming back.
Caroline and her team are wondeful
Fantastic Valentine’s Day dinner!
Perfect spot for Valentine's Day! I couldn't imagine a better date spot, the service was delightful and the food was delicious. I can wholeheartedly recommend this spot and will be likely be a semi-regular.
Dinner was fabulous. The food was excellent and the presentation as well. The cocktails were great and creative. Overall, it was a top notch experience (while still being smart casual). I’ll definitely return!
Great Valentine’s Special Menu!
Nice atmosphere and menu. It is an upscale place but definitely not a top restaurant in terms of service and food offerings. It is a perfect place to meet a friend for lunch or dinner
Great options for both carnivores and pescatarians!! We used the in house Sommelier to assist in picking a bottle of wine that we all could enjoy. The honey lemon vinaigrette on the Arugula Salad was delicious and perfectly distributed on the salad. The Braised Lamb Shank was decadent, cut like butter. My friends had the Escargot starter with the Slow-baked Branzino entree and Steak Frites; both quite enjoyed their meals. I quite enjoyed my Grand Marnier Souffle to top of my meal.
Consistently excellent food from Chef Tang!
Enjoyed the food and the service
We had a wonderful waitress. She was very attentive and made good recommendations.
Outstanding is the word!!! Truly exceptional service, an unexpected request for a birthday celebration, when we arrived at the restaurant was received with grace and thoughtfulness and executed perfectly, WOW! Christian, the manager is on the ball *, our meals delectable and service attentive and wonderful. We'll be back for sure on our next trip to DC. Thank you all!!!!
It was my coworker’s birthday so we decided to try them out for lunch. Best French fries I’ve ever eaten! Everyone who worked there was really nice, the service was great, and they brought a pretty slice of birthday cake (for free) to the table. We will go back.
Nice restaurant and have been there previously. But this time the meals were just mediocre. In fact, neither one of us finished our lunch. Service was fine. Food not nearly up to par
Outstanding food and excellent service. Bon Travail DBGB.
Great ambiance and service
I wish I could give the service more stars! Great teamwork and our server was fantastic. Food was amazing. Love the steak tartare and carrot dish. Thank you for a great meal!
Visited at the right time of the year..... cold enough to enjoy a hearty cassoulet! Excellent meal, accompanied by a really fun cocktail list highlighting the best of the last 5 years!
Service was friendly and attentive. Kudos DB for running a tight ship in DC.
Disappointed in the food and value. Overpriced, espcially bar drinks. We won’t be back
This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. The food is so top notch. Service always outstanding.
A lovely post-restaurant week lunch in a quiet room with excellent service and delicious food. It is normally pretty expensive (not Restaurant Week which they continued for lunch and we unexpectedly had the benefit of enjoying), but the ambiance, service, and food made it well worthwhile. I enjoyed the mah-mahi and the citron tart very much. My friend loved the celery root veloute, the chicken schnitzel, and the tart. I wasn't too excited about the winter salad, but that was a minor issue. All in all it was a great lunch with wonderful, attentive service.
Excellent food and service. Restaurant Week is a perfect opportunity to sample the menu.
We went for restaurant week. Service was a bit slow -- took a bit to just get soft drinks. Food did arrive on time though. Both of us really liked the appetizer and dessert, but the entree portion was underwhelming. I had the butternut squash cavatelli and my husband the schnitzel. Didn't finish the entrees. Found the regular menu to be relatively pricey to try again.
Great experience! We came for restaurant week and the food and service were both excellent. Highly recommend coming here.
Had an absolutely delicious brunch here for restaurant week. It did get a bit loud because it was completely packed, but it didn’t disrupt conversation at our table. Stop reading reviews and start reserving your table. Your tastebuds will thank you!
Terrific value very high quality comfort food at reasonable prices.
I've always walked by this place in city center and finally decided to try to for restaurant week. At first I thought it was mid-tier dining from the setup anf look. Once inside the restaurant was very elegant and sophisticated. We were seated very quickly and I liked that they do coat check. The food was amazing, great flavors and good wine pairing. The butter with the bread was phenomenal. The desserts were sweet, but not too sweet, and also rich in flavor. The portions looked small at first but I left full and satisfied. Definitely recommend and going back 👍🏼
Great spot for Restaurant Week. Will definitely go back to try their regular menu. Service was top notch.
First time visit for restaurant week- loved it. Food was excellent and the service even better! The hostess, bartender, waiter- all did a tremendous job and so warm and welcoming. I love the signature white cosmo too that has an ice ball with a flower petal- nice touch!! I will definitely be back!!
This is always a wonderful experience. The staff are so lovely and food top notch.
