DBGB is Chef Daniel Boulud's casual restaurant specializing in seasonal Lyonnais-inspired bistro cuisine. Located at CityCenter in the Penn Quarter, DBGB is a short walk to the Convention Center, Verizon Center, and The White House. We serve dinner seven nights a week, lunch Monday to Friday, and brunch on the weekends in a casual yet comfortable setting.

A lovely post-restaurant week lunch in a quiet room with excellent service and delicious food. It is normally pretty expensive (not Restaurant Week which they continued for lunch and we unexpectedly had the benefit of enjoying), but the ambiance, service, and food made it well worthwhile. I enjoyed the mah-mahi and the citron tart very much. My friend loved the celery root veloute, the chicken schnitzel, and the tart. I wasn't too excited about the winter salad, but that was a minor issue. All in all it was a great lunch with wonderful, attentive service.

We went for restaurant week. Service was a bit slow -- took a bit to just get soft drinks. Food did arrive on time though. Both of us really liked the appetizer and dessert, but the entree portion was underwhelming. I had the butternut squash cavatelli and my husband the schnitzel. Didn't finish the entrees. Found the regular menu to be relatively pricey to try again.

Had an absolutely delicious brunch here for restaurant week. It did get a bit loud because it was completely packed, but it didn’t disrupt conversation at our table. Stop reading reviews and start reserving your table. Your tastebuds will thank you!

I've always walked by this place in city center and finally decided to try to for restaurant week. At first I thought it was mid-tier dining from the setup anf look. Once inside the restaurant was very elegant and sophisticated. We were seated very quickly and I liked that they do coat check. The food was amazing, great flavors and good wine pairing. The butter with the bread was phenomenal. The desserts were sweet, but not too sweet, and also rich in flavor. The portions looked small at first but I left full and satisfied. Definitely recommend and going back 👍🏼

First time visit for restaurant week- loved it. Food was excellent and the service even better! The hostess, bartender, waiter- all did a tremendous job and so warm and welcoming. I love the signature white cosmo too that has an ice ball with a flower petal- nice touch!! I will definitely be back!!

We were at DBGB for restaurant week lunch. The food was great but it seemed like they booked too many reservations. When we arrived there was a queue. Multiple parties of two with reservations had to wait for a table.

The staff is amazing, kind, and courteous. Our food was delicious and in our party we had someone who was gluten free and DBGB was able to accommodate her every need. I will definitely be back.

I really enjoyed my lunch at DBGB yesterday. It is Restaurant Week, and what a great value--good service, great food, and friendly and attentive service. Of course, our alcohol was more than lunch, but that's okay.

Food was great. I was lucky it was restaurant week in DC, so got a prix fixe 3 course meal and it was awesome. The waitress Iva was really nice and caring. They even had sparkling water served for free. (Carbonated)

As a Restaurant Week customer, my choices were limited. Food was presented nicely. Portion size for appetizer (I had the soup) and entree (mahi mahi) was generous. Mahi mahi was a bit bland. I had a tiny and delicious lemon tart, and could have eaten 4 more of them. As a solo diner, I was made comfortable by both my server and hostess - not ignored and not hovered over.

The Cassoulet special is amazing! Chef Nicholas takes 3-4 days to prepare the dish, and anything that takes that long to prepare has to be outstanding. Get in there in January before you miss it.

Food was good but service was not . There was a general sense of being ignored despite fact that the restaurant was not busy . We ordered 3 side dishes which we never received . When we pointed this out the server did not make any attempt to apologize.

First time at DBGB and it did not disappoint. Food quality was excellent from the endive and beet salad to the scallops and finishing with the homemade ice cream. Went with a friend and a few clients, everyone really enjoyed the experience. Our server Jose was attentive and answered all our questions regarding the menu. Client liked it so much they returned the next night. We will be back.

We've eaten here twice, once dinner, and once brunch, and we had outstanding meals both times. The service, especially at brunch, was outstanding -- really perfect. We have had burgers -- you can order a regular burger if you don't want their fancied-up one -- fried chicken, eggs, steak, oysters, drinks, and all were very good. My Bloody Mary at brunch was delicious, and my bacon was perhaps the best I've ever had in 52 years. Fingers crossed that they keep up the good work.

1. Unfortunately the three of us were seated next to a table of 8, very noisy...
2. Could you do the following, as Capital Grille does: when someone is dressed in dark colors, especially black, change the white napkin to a black one. It prevents from getting clothes messed up with white flecks all over. I mentioned this to one of the hostess but it looks like she did not understand. I just want to make sure it goes to management. Thanks.

Our server was outstanding. The food was amazing. The ambiance was perfect for a Christmas eve dinner. My family and I loved the experience. Highly recommend this fine dining restaurant.

Nice Ambiance and some well priced dishes. We had great sirloin steak and fries for $30 each. Perfectly cooked. Free filtered still or sparkling water a great boon. Wine mark up heavy though. The house cab was nearly times 4....

Very good food. I was there for lunch on Sunday with friends. I had Maryland blue crab pasta; it had a lot of crab meat and the sauce was not overpowering or too rich. My husband has a "frenchie Burger", asked for it rare... and it was rare!! I appreciate enourmously the quiet atmosphere. Getting more and more tired of these restaurants where the noise level is so high that you cannot have a conversation.

The service was really bad and slow. I think they forgot to put in our order. They ended up giving us free fries and dessert but we were late for meetings back at the office and it put a bad taste in our mouth and it was supposed to be our nice team holiday lunch. I don’t plan to return.

Dinner was amazing overall-the food was great… But we must have stumbled in a day (sunday, 530pm) where they were short on waiters... The couple next to us received table bread immediately, even before their water, meanwhile I did not receive it until after my entrée.
It took probably 20 minutes to get a refill on my soda even after the waiter told me one had been ordered.
The couple next to us, as mentioned earlier, had their meals take so long they had to just cancel their order and leave because they were then late for a show after waiting so long. Each time I had to reach out to staff for some issue it seem that I was also doing so for someone next to me: “ hey I still need this, and by the way they need you over there too.”
I honestly felt bad for the waiter because he was super nice… The management just really needs to have more help on hand. Delicious food anyways :)

Brunch was alright but the Manager came to complain to us about our 9 month old baby crying. Given then we were acutely aware of this and had not only already paid our bill but were putting on our coats this was really offensive. This was in the middle of the afternoon on a Sunday, a time when small children can be expected to be out. That people complained to the manager when she started loudly crying is one thing, but instead of handling it and helping us out the door, the manager decided to come over to tell my husband that there were complaints about a baby crying; this was his own decision. As anyone with children will know, sometimes meltdowns happen and we trying to leave. We were very upset and shook up by this and were left reeling. I wouldn't recommend going here if these are the choices made my management over treating customers.
