   The food was underwhelming, especially for the price point. The NY Strip was not well prepared and very chewy. The number of tiny fruit flies was surprisingly annoying for all at the table throughout the evening. Having only dined here once before, I was disappointed, especially since it was a client dinner I was hosting. I would have raised these issues had that not been the case. On the bright side, the service was very good and attentive.

   We made reservations through OpenTable and selected special occasion "Anniversary". No one mentioned anything to us nor was there an offer of one dessert to share for the two of us. Also, the Caesar salad was not fresh, wilted greens, some had brown edges and was served with very little salad dressing. We had to request additional dressing. The amount of money spent on the evening dinner, you would have a better dinner for about the same amount of money at Flemmings or Hyde Park restaurants.

   Our experience was absolute perfection, starting with the kind greeting from the hostess, to our phenomenal server Greg. It simply could not have gone better. We enjoyed some of the best curated cocktails and we love everything from the shrimp tempura, to the pasta flight, to my duck breast, and we finished off our evening with a Nutella cheesecake. We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and we felt truly special. Thank you for making our evening memorable!

   Dinner at DBA was everything we hoped for. We got the Porterhouse for Two, and the sides we chose (carrots, potatoes and broccoli casserole), and the sauces (peppercorn, fig demi glace and au jus) were absolutely amazing. They treated us with dessert on the house for our anniversary, and that was delicious too. Things we noted were how the view out the windows was nice and unexpected, and once it was dark, the lighting level was perfect.

   Our server Greg was outstanding! Personable, professional, humorous and did a great job helping us around the menu. Highly recommend DBA. Dave Sharp has done a phenomenal job making this a top notch restaurant in north east Ohio that everyone should experience!

    Always have liked DBA. Last night was disappointing. Server really tried to hurry us into ordering. Tables were available, so not trying seat more people. Food was mediocre at best. Risotto was cold, nothing was done. Did replace an order of mashed potatoes after complaining about cold first dish, but those were cold as well. Server did nothing to try to compensate or apologize. Maybe just an off night, but for price, will not hurry back.

    Booking a chef table for a 25yr anniversary carries some expectations. We requested a private room an a wine pairing 5 course discovery menu. To be fair we did enjoy the meat course especially as it was paired with a well balanced Rutherford Ranch Cabernet. Prior to that we had the scallops and mussels which was fine and the mushroom risotto which had good flavors despite the unimaginative presentation. I guess we were 1st very disappointed with the setting having a table facing the reservation desk and windows facing the customers coming to the restaurant. Not private at all nor romantic for the event. Actually the restaurant was very loud. Over the years we have experienced many discovery chef menus around the globe and have always enjoyed the chefs creativity and been surprised in a good way with the wine pairings. Here at DBA our 1st course was an iceberg lettuce wedge paired with a low quality Italian sweet bubbly. To the exception of the red wine sample 3 of the wines pairing were wines that had an overwhelming unnatural sugar content unbecoming of this dinner. The biggest disappointment was the oversweet unfavored desert paired with an oversweet Italian wine. Honestly we do not take well to see plates pictured on the website that are not even close to what we received at the restaurant. But this was our anniversary so I opted not to engage with my discontent.

    Don't be put off by the flaws in the dining area, they in no way affect the quality of the food. These folks know how to cook food perfectly and the excellent taste of basically everything will bring you back for more.

    I got the scallops with mashed potatoes, brussels sprouts, and lemon butter sauce. The mashed potatoes were good, the portion size of the sprouts were disappointing. My scallops were a little over cooked and needed more flavor. The calamari and shrimp appetizer portion was disappointing but tasty. My boyfriend had the strip and it was absolutely delicious and flavorful.

    We had a reservation for a party of 6. Food Review: Of the 6 of us, 3 ordered steaks. All were noticably overcooked. 2 did not mention it to the waitress, but did point it out to the rest of us at the table. 1 of us (who cooked steaks for a living for a decade) immediately gave his plate back to the waitress after cutting into it, politely asked for a new steak, prepared medium-rare as originally requested. We originally planned to all wait until his plate was back to eat (we were actually there celebrating his birthday), however all of dinners were getting cold... It took nearly 25 minutes for the waitress to come back with a new steak, which of course should have been the cook's priority, and ready in 10 minutes or less. By the time his plate arrived, everyone else was done eating. It was cooked correctly the second time. My dinner was the monkfish, which was a little tough. My plate was very hot when it was served so I assume it sat under a heating lamp after it was cooked. Ambiance: Possibly because we reserved for a party of 6 (3 couples), there may have been limited seating options to accommodate us? However, I chose the restaurant for what I hoped would be both high food quality and a unique ambiance. Instead, were seated near the door, surrounded on two sides by windows, at a table completely separate from the rest of the restaurant. I suppose it was nice to not be overheard in conversation by diners nearby, however there was really no ambiance or character. There was no way of adjusting the light coming through the window and one guest at the table had direct sunlight in their face throughout the evening. Service: The waitress was pleasant and attentive, no issue there. I was in good company which made for a great evening regardless but I would be reluctant to return to DBA due to the lackluster atmosphere and disappointing food preparation. We spent approx $600 on food & drinks that would have been better prepared at home or at a chain steakhouse.

    My husband started with the shrimp cocktail. He proclaims it as the best he has ever had. The cocktail sauce was incredible. I shared the charcuterie and burrata with our friends. Both were very good. The luxardo cherries in the board were a welcome sight. So delicious. The burrata with Brussels was one of the best appetizers I’ve ever had. For dinner, our friends had the 44oz steak. I stole a bit of their bone marrow. It tasted just like the organic, farm-raised beef my local farmer provides us back home (which is a huge compliment). I had the linguini carbonara with the poached egg. Also delectable. We were hoping to slide over to the speakeasy but it was slammed. The bartender fetched us drinks from there as we sat at DBA’s bar and sampled the tiramisu and Nutella pie. While the food was beyond measure, it was Ben our waiter who made our evening perfect. So kind, so personable, so helpful. The bar staff was also wonderful. When I come to town again, I hope to return to this restaurant. It really was one of the best dining experiences I have had in many years. Thank you, Ben. You really made for a wonderful experience.

    My husband and I visited from out of town and had an amazing experience! The valet was cheap and even came to our table in the restaurant after we paid the bill to return our keys. Our waitress (Sarah Mercedes) was AMAZING- request her if you go. She was knowledgeable and attentive and made our dining experience unforgettable. The food was amazing-we had the mussels for an appetizer, a delmonico ribeye and duck breast for entrees, truffle fries and duck fat fingerling potatoes for side-dishes, and the mousse and oreo nutella pie for dessert. Our alcoholic drinks were well balanced. It was more than affordable for the quality of food. The menus and atmosphere was beyond unique where fine dining meets rock and roll. The menus are actual vinyls and there are music quotes on the walls. The seating is comfortable and the view is great! We will definitely return in the future!

    You go to a restaurant, first, for food; and the quality of the food at dba was absolutely top of the line. I had perhaps the best mussel appetizer I have ever had - the sauce was superb. The main course of Icelandic cod was also superior. Service was also excellent. I cannot wait to go back.

    Second time to this establishment and it did not disappoint! Elegant inside with a modern spin that makes it feel approachable. Fantastic steak, filet, and salmon. Tons of sauces and toppings do customize to your liking. Cocktails are fantastic and the Northside speakeasy is next door and also owned by the same company. Cheaper options if you want to keep the bill down but also pricier options for special occasions. We love it here!
