Chef Daniel Boulud’s db bistro moderne is a contemporary French restaurant, known for chic bistro cuisine. The menu features updated bistro classics with a modern twist and market-driven French-American cuisine, alongside traditional French specialties and seasonal dishes showcasing the Greenmarket’s finest produce.

Located one block east of Times Square in New York City, db bistro is the perfect spot for pre- and post-theater dining, a Midtown business lunch or breakfast “à L’Express”.

It was here that Daniel Boulud launched the gourmet hamburger craze in 2001 that took the world by storm. The DB Burger, stuffed with red wine-braised short ribs and foie gras, continues to be a main attraction.

Our handsome bar area features a seasonal menu of dishes that can be enjoyed with exceptional wines and cocktails.

The pacing of the meal was awful. We were more or less rushed through our meal with one course following immediately after our plates were removed. What should have been a relaxing after theater dinner was a fast food experience.

While we usually avoid restaurants close to the theater district, we were pleasantly surprised. Located on W. 44th Street the neighbors include multiple hotels and private clubs. We opted for the Restaurant Week Menu. We all tried different options from the 3-courses and all were good to excellent. The restaurant offers a nice combination of upscale food and service coupled with a more casual atmosphere. I personally enjoyed the Hanger Steak starting with the Kale Salad. My wife, the Sole starting with the Lobster Salad. Were excellent. For all 4 of us, first time visiting the restaurant and will definitely return.

I ordered the Dover Sole á la Carte, going going off the Restaurant Week menu. It was priced at $60 additional. When it arrived it was less than 4 oz and was over cooked as well. I have been many times to the Bistro but this time I feel we were really taken advantage of. I regret not complaining at the time but we had a guest with us and did not want to spoil lunch. Very disappointed.

It was ok, but pretty dull for an expensive choice. I've had as-good steak frites any number of other $ places amd $27 for a decent 5oz glass of Sancerre is just silly (and my mistake).

Went for Restaurant Week dinner. Sizable meal with extras. The pasta was really good, but the coconut desert was superb. Was treated well by the wait staff even though I was a solo diner.

Ravioli was served only slightly warm. The other pasta dish was served hot. Solution: put the ravioli under a warmer or cover when transporting. Since it’s a thin pasta it will cool faster on a cold dish too.

We went to grab the NYC Restaurant week lunch here. All I can say is mindblowing! We were not expecting such a varied and delicious spread in their fixed prix menu. It all started from the amazingly perfect coffee! My husband is not a huge coffee lover and he was obssessed with it more than me and that says something!The kale salad and the mushroom risotto were to die for as was the ocean trout. The desserts were the show stoppers especially the coconut gateau! Such fresh flavors and unique ingredients! We both are in a culinary coma after yesterday! It is expensive for regular days but would definitely recommend for Restaurant Week or a special occasion!

The ambiance is lovely, nice decor, good vibe but quiet enough to have a conversation. We had dinner after a show, so Happy Hour was a lovely surprise. , and the bartender very knowledgeable. We choose the Prix-Fixe menu, and thoroughly enjoyed the venison pate, sole and tried both desserts.

Very nice experience, very nice service. I would go back.
