We all enjoyed our evening and the staff was so nice.
Thanks so much!!
One of my all time favorite places to dine all over the world. I always take time to go to dB Bistro moderne every time I visit New York. The intimacy of the space, friendly staff and outstanding cuisine are a welcome relief from the hustle bustle of New York
Excellent in every respect
The food is sublime here. Nice, quiet atmosphere where you can hear your companion speaking. The dining room is warm and elegant but not too much.
Excellent service and food quality. A little noisy , but what do you expect on Saturday night?
I would recommend this establishment.
This is a favorite pre-theatre restaurant. The food is delicious and authentically French bistro. Our recent visit was particularly nice, as we had a complicated seating problem which was very graciously resolved for us.
The food and service were excellent. When we got there at 6:30 it was very crowded and noisy. We had asked for a quiet table and they accommodated us. We have to wait ten minutes but it was worth it to have a place where we could have a good conversation. The place is very pretty and it apparently was a pre-theatre crowd because it was very quiet by the time we left.
Excellent service and extensive wine selection. Even though quite busy you could hold pleasant conversations.
Lovely Thanksgiving pre-fix dinner, but do not expect to be treated with respect by the staff.
The end of our dining experience was accompanied by intimidating stares from the waitstaff as an obvious hint to finish the last of our wine quickly. The manager of the evening, Brittany, was very contentious and rude, and we were rushed out of what started as a pleasant dining experience. Overall decent food, but not worth the expenditure for such horrible customer service.
The food was delicious, the menu well-curated, and the atmosphere was very nice.
Food was outstanding and ambience excellent. Wait staff could have been a bit warmer. Rest oom facilities leave something to be desired.
It was great can’t wait to come back. The food and service were excellent
Delicious Thanksgiving pre-fixe menu, and ambiance - thank you!
My girlfriend and I have been to db Bistro Moderne for Thanksgiving. The location is really nice, the service excellent and the food really delicious. 5 stars :)
Best meal we’ve had in NYC on this trip! Unique tastes and great service.
This was our first time dining here and we would definitely return on our next trip to NYC. My husband had the Dover Sole and raved about it, while I had the Steak Frites, also delicious. We were pleased with our server Gustavo and look forward to returning.
We were a party of five. We were seated at a corner table which I had requested. The quality, flavor and presentation of the food was superb. Service was very good. The $60 three course menu is an excellent value. I started with the Hamachi crudo and followed with the steak frites. My grand daughter had the Hamachi crudo then Dover sole. We all shared a presentation of five desserts.
I had a fantastic meal started off with cheese and pate and then steak frites.
Nice efficient, French like bistro, we enjoyed the steak with great French fries and the Halibut. Service is rapid. Food is great. On the expensive side especially the drinks
The service staff was wonderful. The hosts could care less. As we were leaving they did not both to interrupt their commuting discussion to get our coats and simply point to another colleague when we asked. Terribly inconsistent with the rest of the experience.
The food ,atmosphere and service were very good but the prices are high.
I was expecting way more from a DB restaurant. The service was as expected - excellent, the food was good, and they did what every they could to accommodate my wife's restrictions, but the ambiance was off, as well as, the presentation of the plates. The building is showing wear and the lighting was off. This was lunch, so not sure how it is at night.
Best burger in the World - short rib, foie gras and black truffle! Going through my photos I realise that, in the many times I’ve been there, I’ve had the burger about 90% of the time.
Food was delicious and beautifully presented.
Price fix lunch a little on the high side but multiple choices.
Repeated requests for sliced lemon for water were acknowledged but totally ignored.
Service and food quality is always outstanding. Noise level at lunch is high.
Wonderful food, service and ambiance! I dine here at least once every time I visit NYC and am never disappointed!
Four of us went to a Wednesday pre-matinee lunch at noon and made the theater in plenty of time. All of us ordered the $39 2-course lunch special. The food and service were terrific. They even stored our leftovers in their wine fridge until after the show.
Pre-theater prix-fixe meal is a great deal for the price! Service was wonderful and attentive. Although there's a caveat on this site for how long you'll have your table, at no time did we feel rushed. We were out with enough time to spare. I'll keep this in mind for future Broadway trips.
Pas de valeur ajoutée pour un petit déjeuner. Bien quand même.
Was my nieces 16th birthday dinner and everything was outstanding.
Would come back in a heart beat.
We came for the pre-theater menu and it set us up well for seeing a show. We appreciated the prix-fixe menu and I liked that all the menu options were available to order this way rather than have my selection limited. The food was tasty - we had snails, the squash burrata salad was my favorite, the halibut was moist and flavorful, and the zippy lemon tart. My husband liked the decor on the walls. It was a busy night, full of anticipation for the further treats that waited in the wings.
Brunch at dB Moderne was a wonderful prelude to a Broadway matinee. The restaurant is cozy and stylish. The brunch menu offers a good variety of dishes. The chicken paillard with arugula was delicious and my husband enjoyed the Croque Madame. Don’t miss the Tarte Tatin for dessert.
Service is especially smooth and professional.
We enjoyed our brunch and looking forward to return!
The food was generally very good but the service and ambience was very poor which was a shame.
The servers were rather innatentive and upon making a request for the air conditioning to be switched off, we were told that there were going to be lots of people in the room shortly and that it would heat up quickly. The room remained half empty and very cold all evening - a number of diners eating with jumpers or jackets on.
The food was very good but the waiters didn't deliver it to the table very well - one of the burgers had toppled over and spilled all over the plate, the waiter even mentioned that it fell over whilst he was coming out of the kitchen and that we'd just need to do our best with it.
When the bill came we had been overcharged by about $60 (various oddities such as double priced drinks and mystery dishes). It took about half an hour and 4 members of staff to eventually bring us the correct bill.
This restaurant is worth visiting because the food was wholly 5* but the service was more like 1*.
Excellent service and excellent food!
We had a splendid table and service was impeccable. Food was great, had one jour fixe and portions were great. Will go back for sure!
A quaint place that has great food and a touch of old NY!
Great food. Accommodated wife's food allergies. Excellent location for pre-show dinner.
Another great lunch, and excellent food. Risotto and of course the burger, both highly recommended.
