db Bistro moderne
Located one block east of Times Square in New York City, db bistro is the perfect spot for pre- and post-theater dining, a Midtown business lunch or breakfast “à L’Express”.
It was here that Daniel Boulud launched the gourmet hamburger craze in 2001 that took the world by storm. The DB Burger, stuffed with red wine-braised short ribs and foie gras, continues to be a main attraction.
Our handsome bar area features a seasonal menu of dishes that can be enjoyed with exceptional wines and cocktails.

Great elegant late night diner option. Food overall was delicious , only complaint would be that the they smothered the chicken roti with too much sauce and the drink prices seem a little high- even for midtown.
We try to go whenever we are in New York. It never disappoints. The sommelier is fantastic.
Food was good. Service was good and quick - perhaps too quick. We would have preferred a more relaxed experience.
Delightful classic French bistro with excellent service.
It seems our seating request was totally ignored. We understand it is probably one of the busiest day of the year. However, they should at least explain that they couldn't accommodate our request. Also, they should explain better for their dishes. A lot of detail in service can be improved.
The dessert chef did a great job to make us forget some unexpected service.
We were there based on chef's reputation, however we think they could do a better job and hope to revisit his bistro again.
Probably the single best Dover Sole we have ever eaten.
Had dinner Sunday night, for the second time. Food and service were consistently good
Great food and service, always! Thank you so much.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent, was expensive but overall worth it
I ate there Friday night and I already have called two friends to recommend the restaurant. Admittedly, the value was better because it was Restaurant Week, although we all didn't order from that menu. But what a special evening. The food was fabulous but what made the night truly special was the tender loving care we got from the entire staff and sommelier. Great for pre-theater because of the location. Great for special occasions because it is a special place.
Great food. Our server was excellent. We were there during restaurant week so we were a bit hesitant but no need. Everything was top of the line...the food, the service..excellent
Great food, outstanding service!
Went there for restaurant week, the food was delicious and the staff was very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend it!
Enjoyed a lunch for 6 during restaurant week. Selections were great, everyone had a different dish and all enjoyed immensely including appetizers and desserts.
Food was great, with lots of special touches. Service was excellent.
Food was good for the price. Service was pretty slow, though.
Really looking forward to my lunch as never eaten at db Bistro. Nice setting, busy and cheery atmosphere. Salad was good but the entree serving of loup de mer was very small and rather tasteless. The poulet was a good size, tender and more taste. Somewhat disappointed and $5.50/$5:00 for coffee and tea was excessive.
It alwYs a great meal at DB bistro. It is one of my favorite places
The wait staff was patient & attentive. The food presentation was lovely & the taste was excellent. Only negative is the main dining area is noisy.
This was my second visit to db Bistro moderne, and while I gave it the benefit of the doubt the first time, I can't do it the second time. The people are lovely, and the food is delicious, but it's way too noisy, and far too expensive to leave hungry. Everyone at my table mentioned the small portions, which were laughable. I was embarrassed to have suggested it as an alternative for the evening, and won't in the future.
Love db Bistro moderne!!!! Food, Wine and Service is always stellar!
Pre theater Sunday brunch. Food was delicious, wine list great and service was wonderful!
db Bistro offers well-executed French fare in a classy environment with out the stuffiness one would expect at an establishment owned by a two Michelin star chef. Even though there were some issues with the placement of the dishes at our table, the waitstaff were extremely friendly and accommodating.
This was our third time to this restaurant. This is the first time we had a bad experience hasty service tiny portions. Not sure if we’ll go back for the fourth time.
It was a great evening. Rarely do I like staying at a restaurant for more than 2 hours and I was there for 3 plus. The waiter was lovely and not overbearing but present and made great recommendations.
Excellent meal, my friend was celebrating a birthday and received a nice gift. Thank you for making the event a special night.
Our table was ready. Service was exceptional. We were there during restaurant week and took advantage of their menu for that week. Good choices, prepared wonderfully. Excellent wine, as well.
We have had mixed experiences at db Moderne, but this was a very good evening. To be fair, our one sad evening there was a very cold one, and we were seated near the door. The restaurant has addressed the issue, but we were also sure to be seated toward the back, on a frigid NYC evening. Service and food were without fault, if not celestial (but close!). Good value for money, in my book, and we shall return.
Always a pleasure dining at db bistro.Great ambiance and very attentive service.Food as always was excellent.
Uncoordinated service- we were served appetizers before our cocktails arrived
Service was outstanding. Gustavo L. was so attentive and pleasant. The food was magnificent. We took advantage of the Restaurant Week menu and wine which made it a tremendous value. We enjoyed the mushroom veloute, the salade d'endive, the steak frites and the cavatelli. Pot au creme was yummy with some might tasty madelines. What a delightful evening!
Great value ... excellent Restaurant Week menu and the timeless ‘best burger in New York’ !
Went for the NYC restaurant week deal which offered a good value for the 42$. As I had seen many people post comments on the special burger , I decided to pay the extra 14$. The burger turned out to be disappointing, bland and couldn’t be saved by the raisin sized foie gras or the also bland micro portion of braised ribs. I couldn’t identify any black truffles or the slightest taste of such. The fries on the other hand were borderline edible as they were covered with salt. The average diner does better burger and fries and mostly for less than the 14$ surcharge. Other than that everything was decent and the service was ok.
The food was a taste sensation and the staff very attentive. I truly enjoyed the most delectable lamb shank I have ever had and my friend said her pasta was delicious. I can’t wait to return!!!
Prix-fixe superb. Our lovely waiter recommended the special wine @$35 bottle. Wonderful food and service. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you!
Food was generally "tired" - Gem lettuce was dried out as if it had been out too long. Esacargot were over cooked and dry
Here for restaurant week. Excellent food. The special wine choices for restaurant week particularly good and well priced.
