We chose the Dine Downtown option and every course was fantastic! Service was outstanding.
I tried Dawson’s during a Dine Downtown week. Very good. I normally don’t frequent restaurants/bars in hotels… so it was one of the few places I hadn’t been to in Sacramento. Very good. Our waiter was excellent, and I believe has been a head waiter there for quite a long time. The service couldn’t have been better, and our food was very, very good. Definitely worth checking out and stopping by, even if you don’t stay at the Hyatt often.
That food was absolutely delicious! I would recommend anyone who wanted to have a wonderful dining experience to try out Dawson's steakhouse!
Dawson's is such a classy place. Before we got our appetizers we were presented with the bread basket. There were 2 kinds of warm bread. One was a crispy white bread, similar to sourdough. The second was unique. I believe it was made with olives. Both were quite delicious. Our waiter was able to describe meal options which made it easy for us to make our meal choices. We chose the steak and it was cooked to our specifications. The sauce was magnificent. For dessert, I chose the chocolate cheese cake. It was totally decadent. My dinner mate chose the pineapple upside down cake and raved about it. The service was smooth and professional.
I was horrified by the lack of social distancing as far as the tables go. Praying we don’t catch anything. The place was packed by the time we lead and tables are right on top of one another. Not good.
We came for the dine downtown dinner. Everything was delicious. I would definitely visit for their regular menu.
Everything was outstanding. We were fortunate to have Ardy as our server who made experience wonderful. Top notch steak house
We came here for Sacramento Dine Downtown Restaurant Week 2022. It was our first time here and we had a pleasant dining experience from the food to the service. Ardy was our server. Fun and entertaining. Excellent Prix Fixe tasting menu. We will return!
One of the best steak houses in sacramento.
First time dining at Dawson’s. Service was exceptional. Waiter Ardy and the bus boys were charming and on top of everything we needed. Best service we have had at any Sacramento restaurant in 5 years.
New York Steak was cooked perfectly. The Salmon was very good as well but the accompanying risotto missed the mark.
We will definitely be back and will ask for Ardy
Great food, wonderful service - definitely a great restaurant!
Theater night. Great service by Arte so we had dinner with wine and dessert in plenty of time to make it to the theater, which is conveniently on the next block. The halibut was fantastic served with a great lemon buerre blanc sauce, scalloped potatoes and a variety of colored carrots. Try the warn brownie with a molten chocolate center. It was shared and was a perfect way end the meal.
Brandon our server was outstanding as usual.. we not only had an amazing dinner but our service was phenomenal. Let's go Brandon!!!
Wonderful!!! And I apologize for the ladies out our table… if they need a lifetime ban I’m in full support!!! See ya again soon!!!!
It was NYE, not a single balloon or streamer or anything recognizing the day and event. Otherwise excellent food and service.
I never knew about this place in Sacramento cause it’s inside the Hyatt hotel but it’s my new found place enjoyed it so much great service and good steaks. The devil eggs were so good it was my first time I will definitely return.
New year’s Eve followed by Broadway show. We were ignored for a while at the bar before our reservation but finally got our drinks after about a 30 min wait. However, once seated the service was excellent and our server was attentive. We both had the most amazing steaks and split the bacon Brussels sprouts. It all was heavenly and worth every penny.
We want to Dawson’s to celebrate our anniversary. The ambience was beautiful, the service was outstanding, and the food was exceptional. Completely wonderful. I plan to return again someday!
Our server, Brandon, made the our first visit to Dawson’s wonderful! His menu knowledge and recommendations were appreciated and his customer service was superb!!!
The food and drinks were great, minus way too much butter on the loaded potato. Steaks were cooked perfectly!
We will be back!
We four loved our dinner, desserts, waiter, ambience, everything! Yes, very pricey but we are worth such a treat!
You can't go wrong with Dawson's Steak House in Sacramento .
Always a great experience & excellent service. We enjoy the food experience - consistently excellent and service is always great. A wonderful experience before the Broadway Shows.
We had eaten at Dawson’s before, but it was great seeing they now offer a special menu for theater goers. It is a three course price fix menu that was delicious. Diners can now get more for their money at Dawson’s! Great new idea for this well-known restaurant.
Excellent service. I’m handicapped and use an electric scooter. They were extremely helpful In accommodating my special request. A first rate dinner
Very pleasant atmosphere, and the server Ardy was excellent!
Gary: "This is my new favorite restaurant." Me: "Why?" Gary: "I love the dark wood interior, the table spacing, and the acoustics - not too noisy so you can have a conversation without shouting." And that was before we met the waiter (John) and tasted our food! Excellent service; amazingly tasty food. We will be back! Yes, it's pricey, but for a special night out, you can't go wrong (provided you like meat - not many vegetarian or vegan options, if any!
Great food. Great service. Pricey but worth it! Give it a try.
My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at Dawsons on Dec. 28. We just happened to be there for the pre-theater prix fixe menu, and it had just what we wanted. For the first course he got the leek soup, which was perfect. I got the Cesaers salad, also very good with actual anchovies. For the second course we both ordered the prime rib rare. It arrived rare with 2 sauces, horseradish and brown gravy, mashed potatoes and green beans. Desser was vanilla ice cream. The best part was the service from our waiter Ardy! He was attentive and anticipated our needs. The manager checked in with us during dinner, what a nice touch. We used Hyatt points for part of the dinner and the manager figured out the bill without any problems. Thanks for an enjoyable evening!
Was very sad with our experience at Dawsons last night. We try to come here every Christmas but im afraid we will be going elsewhere next year. The Fillet was delicious and the scallops were good but everything else was not. A raw baked potato, very salty mushrooms and root vegetables that were not cooked properly....hard. I just didnt understand how the sides could be so bad and they are charging 10 bucks for that raw potato and those salty mushrooms. My wifes chicken was also dry and somewhat tough....Dawsons really missed the mark
Great steak house and wonderful place for a quiet Christmas dinner.
Let me start by saying are waiter was outstanding but the food was subpar. That pretty much sums it up.
Superb service, Thank you Brandon! Dinner was so delectable. Presentation and flavors on point. Excellent chef!! Highly recomend if you are seeking an upscale, fine dining experience. You will not be disappointed!!
Our first time dining at Dawson's and it will most definitely not be the last. Our time was everything we could have hoped for. The hostess was Danielle, who took our coats to hang them for us, and our server was Andy. We chose Dawson's because we were attending the Nutcracker Ballet that evening. Andy asked if we had plans to see the performance and while he kept our time in mind so that we wouldn't be late, we never felt rushed and he was thoughtful, attentive, and courteous the whole evening. He informed us of the chef's special and there was also a theater special. We were given a fresh Vera bottle of water, but another server would notice we were low and would come by to refill while we enjoyed our meals. I had the swordfish, my husband had the filet minon. We were provided bread before our meal and we ordered the shrimp cocktail. The portions were perfect. The food was delicious. It's located inside the Hyatt so on that rainy night it was still warm, inviting, and offered a beautiful, romantic ambience. We parked in the Hyatt parking garage and walked inside to Dawson's. After dinner, we walked straight out and to the ballet, just 2 minutes away. We enjoyed Dawson's so much, we returned after the show for a night cap and the deviled eggs. It was a night to remember. One of our best experiences yet. Thank you to everyone at Dawson's, especially Andy, Danielle, and our compliments to the chef. We highly recommend Dawson's for a men memorable night.
The service was exceptional. My husband’s pork chop was very tough. The Onion Soup was outstanding.
It had been many years since our last visit. We felt like truly appreciated patrons beginning with the vallet to the hostess and server. My only disappointment in the entire evening was that my Sidecar cocktail was served in a brandy sifter with a straw instead of a traditional coupe. The caesar salad had fresh white anchovies...yeah! The prime rib and fillet were delicious and perfectly seasoned and cooked. The perfect ending was French pressed coffee, pumpkin cheesecake and a gracious invitation to return by our fun and very professional server, Ardy.
Dawsons is back! How we missed you, during the pandemic! The steak was grilled perfectly, seared on the outside, juicy & cooked to our specifications. The loaded baked potato was adorned with jewel like lardons of bacon that tasted like candy! My husband had the bone in pork chop which was also juicy & delicious. We were having a pre-ballet dinner & they were very accommodating to our timing. However, service was never sacrificed. We appreciated & enjoyed the wine recommendations on the menu. The food was served promptly and hot which is not something you can take for granted these days. We will come back soon!
We always have a great time here, when we stay at the Hyatt. Our server Jenn was wonderful. Restaurant was very busy but she was very professional.
Great food and service
This is our favorite restaurant! The ambience, people and of course, the food!
We had a show to catch at 7 PM, and our waiter was great about getting our food and drinks quickly. The food was awesome I wish I would’ve given myself more time to sit and relax.
