Overall very nice experience; great food and attentive service. Pleasant ambiance.
Our experience at Davio's was not great. The service was very slow, took a long time to order and receive our drinks. Two of our four meals were good, the other two very disappointing. One person in our party ordered a steak and could not get a knife to cut the steak with and had to use a butterknife. The 'filet mignon' had gristle, so very bad experience. Plain pasta was ordered and it was cold and flavorless. The restaurant is very loud and has an echo, so it's hard to have a conversation at the table. Plates were broken by our table and several workers just stood there for a long time before a broom was brought to sweep up. We spoke to one of the managers and he really didn't care that our first time experience was not good. In our opinion, this restaurant is not worth the effort it takes to get there and park or the price paid for mediocre food. There are far too many great steak houses in the Dallas area that provide great service to return to his place.
Service - for the level and cost, was less than average. Had to ask for 2nd drink, 15’ after empty.
Food - Steak & Dessert was good. Tuna Tartare was low grade and poorly flavored. Salads were average.
We wanted to love this restaurant so much. We love the Grandscape area and have been checking out new restaurants there every other week or so. Unfortunately, this is one we won't return to. From the beginning the restaurant was clean and inviting and the hostess staff sat us right away. Our service from the beginning was so extremely slow, we waited for about 20 minutes to get a bottle of wine and 2 lemonades, our appetizer came out on time, however 30 minutes later we were asked if we would like to order or we could wait longer because our waiter needed to go change his jacket.
When our salads came out, only 1 person of the 4 people who needed new silverware got any, when asked for some, only 2 people were brought any, and we had to ask a 3rd time for the last set. Once our salads arrived we also had out waiter come back and apologize but he did not remember what were were having for dinner, so we ordered again.
At this point the waiter had come back to our table several times apologizing for his lack of service and saying he knows that was not the standard we were expecting at this restaurant. Of course we are very understanding about the shortage of help during this time, but at this point not even a manager came back to our table to check on us.
When dinner finally arrived the presentation and flavor were great, but all of our dishes were cold. We were there to celebrate my Aunt's birthday and although the hostess staff remembered we had requested a cake with candles our wait staff didn't. We ended having dessert but that is because wanted to comp us for it...which he did, but it wasn't the birthday celebration we had planned.
All in all, it took us over 3 hours for this dinner and we didn't dare order another drink while we waited. It seemed to us that the had a lot of staff, just that they weren't trained, especially in an establishment of the caliber Davio's is trying to be.
Staff was wonderful, the food was excellent
Food was amazing staff was very attentive.. we will be back.
Food was awesome and the service was top notch. They did an outstanding job. Thanks Davios will be back soon.
Food was well prepared, but the surprise of the evening was the gluten free menu. Tons of options and the quality of the gluten free pasta was wonderful. We will be making this a regular date night spot.
Had a good dinner and was a great place to get together with friends
Awesome! Great food, service and atmosphere!
Awesome experience. Great server!
Food was great! The spring roll sampler is a must! Loved the halibut and the butter cake was AMAZING! Great Ambiance. Perfect date night experience.
Tried for the first time. Food wasn’t bad but far from great.
I was looking forward to eating here for quite some time. I don’t like posting negative reviews, but I was a little disappointed. The venue is beautiful, the staff was good, my food was actually good, BUT I ordered lobster risotto and there was NO lobster!! I paid $43 for a bowl of risotto. Typically I would say something and am upset with myself for not saying anything. I realize prices have increased due to the pandemic but this was a little absurd. I cannot even say there was a small portion of lobster. I had a small sliver of lobster once while eating the risotto, that constitutes to me as NO LOBSTER. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. My butter cake dessert on the other hand was phenomenal.
Had dinner for my mom’s birthday, service was good once we got to the table, even though plates could’ve been cleared sooner after apps and dinner, but when we arrived, stopped at the bar and basically had to flag someone down to order drinks, even though there were 4 people behind bar. Food was good, abundant menu, wine priced fairly, nice ambiance. Will be back.
Great food and service. Was our first time there but will definitely be back
The appetizers here are great! While the service is very good and they will work to make sure you enjoy your meal, after 3 visits, I find that their entrees are lackluster. This is also a very leisurely meal so plan accordingly. The atmosphere is great and the complimentary bread popovers are delicious.
We were looking for a nice evening for our anniversary and were extremely disappointed. The food was subpar at beat and very overpriced. I don’t mind paying for good food, service and ambiance but we received none of those. The gnocchi was mushy, the sauce was flavorless broth. We didn’t even bother with dessert. The booth we were crammed into was set to seat 6 and we barely fit. (I’m 5’2 and 130 pounds so it wasn’t a size issue) We were seated by the bar and tv with football on the tv - even after telling them we were there to celebrate our anniversary. We watched a huge bug crawl across the floor from the bar and go under the cabinet where the table linens and napkins were stored. We were finished and desperately wanting to leave and were kept waiting another 20 minutes to pay to leave. Not at all what we had hoped for when choosing a spot for a special dinner.
Thank you for a wonderful time at your restaurant. We found our new favorite Italian Restaurant in area.
We had a great time celebrating our anniversary at Davio's. James our server gave perfect food recommendations (he was 3 of 3) and was awesome. James the Manager made it 4 out of 4 with the dessert recommendation. We will share your restaurant to out Toyota friends and family.
Thank you for making our anniversary dinner memorable
Edwin and Deedee
Food was very good the place was little loud but overall I will come back again because of the atmosphere and the food.
We went to Davio’s to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. We sat at a large round table for 8. It was perfect for conversation and the noise level in the restaurant is perfect for hearing everyone. The service was amazing. Jerran was our server. He was very attentive and informative. He took fantastic care of us. We ordered several bottles of wine, cocktails, appetizers, and we each ordered something different for entrees, and we shared two desserts. The food was large portions and absolutely delicious. The chocolate martinis were great too! We will be back!
This was our second time. We were so looking forward to it. We were sat upstairs which gives a nice view but there is a large concrete pillar in the middle of the window looking out. Our service was great, until the wait staff were also the bartenders, so when it got busy we just sat there. We really wanted dessert and an after dinner coffee or cocktail but by the time the waiter came back we just said we were all set. He was real nice, it wasn’t his fault they weren’t staffed upstairs but it did take away from our experience unfortunately. The food is good, great the first time we came. It’s wasn’t real hot, but it tasted good.
Food was amazing, service was even better. While it's definitely not an inexpensive place, the value for the food was great.
Way less then expected. For the price and expectation of overall value and taste was very dissatisfied. One meal was cold and the other a smoked chicken pasta they say is fresh made pasta, no I think not, and smoked chicken that is diced. What chicken or any meat is diced that is not processed especially chicken. To pay $26 at a high end Italian steak house for a homemade pasta with smoked chicken one would expect more than processed diced chicken mixed in a pasta. The atmosphere was not bad but with multiple areas set up to be sectioned off for events it felt very hotel banquet hall like which fit the food.
Shirt and simple, we will not be back. To bad it’s a neat area.
Service was great, food was good, well prepared and well presented. I didn’t give them 5 stars because we felt the wine list was too limited and the overall price for food and drink is a bit too high
Food was great, we has Oysters (very clean tasting) bone in fillet... the popper turnover were fantastic... we'll definitely return.
We have eaten here now four times I believe, and the first three times was spectacular. The fish was amazing, the ribeye was amazing, and the temperature the food was fantastic. Last night was beyond a disappointment unfortunately. Our waitress was great, somebody ran into her and a martini glass shattered all around my husband and my daughter… That was not anyone’s fault. The only reason I’m writing anything is because my husband‘s fish was cold, it is the worst ribeye I have ever eaten in a restaurant… It was Almost rock, but that was not the problem… It had zero flavor compared to the first few times we have been there. So much fat on it that I could barely find the meat. My daughters fillet was OK, but it was almost on the rare side and we had asked for medium to medium well. Super disappointing that the food has gone downhill so much from the last few times we ate there. Our meal was so expensive, we will not be back. And the manager who came up to us was super sweet as well, love the staff
Very nice this time out; I was reluctant to go here again but have to say everything was very good. Appetizer Oysters Rockefeller highly recommended. Calamari was fine, nice touch with the jalapeños. Steak were superb as was veal tenderloin. Service was prompt even though the place was busy. Very encouraging.
The night was amazing. I can’t speak highly enough of the Waugh! We needed up ordering a second serving. It was amazing! The other highlight of the night was the butternut squash pasta dish.
The macaroni and cheese was severely under-cooked, but the mashed potatoes were most likely the best we’ve ever had dining out!
Totally surprised by the food and service. Amazing experience!! Definitely recommend!
James my server was FANTASTIC!! Service was excellent! Food always good! Love Davios can’t wait to go back!
The server was amazing. The food was absolutely awful. Steak was not cooked correctly, the spaghetti tasted like it was soaked in dishwater and the shrimp was definitely not fresh. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the waiter was so kind and friendly, but the food was just absolutely awful. Definitely not worth 250$
Halibut was amazing!! Slight expensive for family of 5, but would make an awesome date night place
This was our first time and we will definitely be back. I had the lobster and my husband had the scallops. Both were very good! The scallops were tender and the creamed corn added a kick of heat. The lobster was delicious at a delicate flavor.
Excellent food and service! We had Lindy and she was an AMAZING server!! It was our first time there and she gave us some great recommendations based on what we liked. The food was served quickly and hot. Everything was well seasoned. There's plenty of space in between tables so you don't feel crowded. I will definitely be making several trips back so that I can try some other dishes on the menu!
The food and service were excellent from beginning to end. It was a very enjoyable experience!
Another great meal and great service @ Davio's. It's great place if you have your family as they will work to accomodate "timing" of food for the littles, but also a fantastic 'date night' spot when you want a nice, enjoyable, elegant time.
Overall it was good. I would like to try dinner. Had a business meeting at the bar and the drinks were very good. The bartender intruded on our conversation a bit much but he was nice. The Tuna Tartare appetizer was ok. Probably wouldn't order again. The ambiance and decor was very nice though. Anxious to try it for dinner and see what it's really like.
