Davio's - Chestnut Hill
The idea behind Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse was simple, regional Italian foods with a focus on the grill.
Everything made by hand from the best ingredients. Serve everything from aged steaks to simple-yet-unique pasta creations. Mirror this philosophy in the kitchen with our expert and attentive staff in the dining room, seeing to your every need and taking pride in your enjoyment of the meal. Steve has since opened locations in Foxborough, Lynnfield, Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, Manhattan and Atlanta.
Business meeting with a conference room feel.
The farro salad with salmon was perfect.
Once again, the service was 5 Star
Always consistently good
We had a delightful time! We loved being in the small, private room. We definitely plan to make this an annual tradition on Rosh Hashanah.
The Mac and cheese is divine! The shrimp pasta is perfectly light and flavorful!
We had an 85th birthday dinner for my mother there. We were super impressed with the quality of service and food. It was a memorable evening that we look forward to doing again on another momentous occasion.
Although steak is the expected option, they have an Italian leaning menu with interesting specials. The steaks are on the smaller side but super tender and flavorful. Try not to sit near the open kitchen where it's super noisy. Friendly service, always had water but kitchen got too busy and entrees took a little too long.
Nice food, wonderful service!
I AM ON THE 180 Awaken Weight loss diet and you would never know your dieting as their menu for this diet is superb!!
It was a few days before my birthday and I received a birthday dessert. My friend and I what just planned to get together since we both have extremely busy lives. I did not put the reservation under “birthday”.
It was nice and the Mocasto was Devine!
Birthday party for daughter. Excellent service added to the occasion.
Food was great, could have been a little more attentive for service and professional. We spent a lot of money for 4 for dinner....
I just love this Location in Chestnut Hill. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is wonderful. I do a lot of work meetings in this location, and it is clean and lovely. I particularly love their wine list, and the chicken Parm spring rolls! They are delicious.
Honestly, disappointed. Been wanting to go there for a year or more...and went for a birthday dinner. Expensive, husband asked to substitute a green vegetable for corn (he's diabetic and corn is a no-no) and they said no..you can buy a green side for $10-12 range, instead. Really? The corn we knew would be about 2 tblespoons on the plate (with scallops) so why not some green beans instead? No, they would not budge...so that was another expense that was un-necessary. Zero accommodation. The popovers were an unexpected treat, but why serve them room temperature..not even warmed. All in all, meal was very expensive and value was simply not there. I would not return..and we left disappointed.
First of all the food was delicious and our server was great. My one complaint is with the front desk.
We arrived for a 6:15 reservation to a basically empty dining room. The hostess brought us to a table right next to a very loud table of four. Remember, the dining room was empty. I politely asked if we could simply move one table over to not be right next to this other table. She was quite huffy about it and said she’d have to ask. Really? After leaving us standing there for several minutes she returned and told us we couldn’t move to the empty table next to us but could only move to a table away from the window right next to a large pillar. She insisted people had reserved specific tables. I really think she was on a power trip and just didn’t want to help.
Well, the table next to us that we had asked to move to remained empty right up until we were leaving. And a twosome sat there so it wasn’t a matter of putting a foursome there.
More than anything it was the very haughty and officious behavior of the hostess that put us off. There was no reason we couldn’t have moved to that table. There was no believable reason that someone had reserved that particular table.
Her behavior negatively impacted our experience
My sides were burnt and not really worth the cost.
It was our son's 20th birthday. The staff at Davio's went out of their way to provide top notch service! Without being asked, they decorated his dessert plate for his birthday and lit a candle. We never had a moment during our lunch when we were waiting for any item that was needed. They anticipated our every wish. Davio's at Chestnut Hill is a well run establishment with an excellent staff!
Outstanding delicious food. Waitstaff is right on top of everything. Friendly atmosphere. Unfortunately drinks are very overpriced.
A great go to local spot. This restaurant has the most exceptional professional friendly service along with a pleasant ambiance and good food.
My sister’s birthday
Food was not cooked as ordered including one wrong meal delivered. Service was very slow. It felt like something in management had changed. Very surprised.
too loud sitting near the open kitchen, waiter could have been more attentive
Sat in the front room at the windows. A little noisy but not as much as the bar area. Front desk was extremely helpful in accommodating my request for that area.
Food is always worth the drive, even if it is just a bit pricey.
But it is worth it for a nice dinner out.
I have been coming to Davio’s since the 80’s (aka back-in-the-day on Newbury St)., I’m so happy I chose your restaurant for my family reunion dinner- the service, ambiance, food & dessert was PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT. Thanks again
The atmosphere was lovely, the food was delicious, the hostess was pleasant, and the service was outstanding.
Great food and fun. Love those egg rolls. Even kids find things to eat
We found it odd that at least 5 different people came over to ask us how we were enjoying our meal. One designated asker would have been sufficient. It became a bit strange and intrusive.
Had an amazing experience for my first time at Davio’s Chestnut Hill location. Food was absolutely outstanding as was the service from both our waiter and the hostess when we walked in the door. Couldn’t have asked for better! I will undoubtedly be returning.
Always great food and service from Davio’s. They go above and beyond to satisfy all requests.
We went to Davio’s Chestnut Hill during restaurant week/dine out Boston or whatever it’s called now. The food, atmosphere and service was all very good. The price was special due to it being restaurant week but it would have been worth it at regular prices.
I am new to the area and thought I would try Davio's for lunch with a friend. We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu. Food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Will absolutely go back again!
Great experience! The food was great as well as our waitress. We filled out the occasion for our visit as Anniversary and to our surprise was presented with our dessert plate decorated with “Happy Anniversary”. The vibe was classy and it wasn’t loud, we would definitely come back!
Great service with Kristen. Sirry she is leaving!
We arrived a few minutes early for our 7:30 reservation. After what seemed like a little confusion at the desk, we were seated in a comfortable booth on the far side of the bar from the entrance. This was great because it was much less noisy than the near side of the bar, where the noise level would make it challenging to have a conversation.
We ordered cocktails and wine which came quickly and were delicious. The service was absolutely first rate - attentive and attuned and always right there at the point that we needed anything. We skipped appetizers and two of us ordered the burger and one the short ribs. The short ribs were delicious, as were the accompanying potatoes and spinach, and the portion was generous - we took plenty home. The two of us who had burgers loved them - perfectly cooked as requested, with fresh, flavorful condiments.
The short ribs came with a few onion rings on top. We all sampled those and quickly added a side order of them for the table. They are some of the best onion rings I’ve ever had anywhere. So why 4 stars for the food, with all of these raving comments? The French fries. The burgers came with them and the fries were limp, somewhat soggy and yet overcooked as well. I’m pretty particular about fries (not wasting the calories if they aren’t good) and only ate 3 of these.
Would we go again? Absolutely. Davio’s is near our home and we’ve been before and will return. The food is routinely delicious, the menu varied and the service excellent. This was the first time we’d tried the burger and I would absolutely and eagerly return for it. Next time, I will just swap the fries for onion rings, even if there is an upcharge. I highly recommend you do the same.
Great dinner, delicious food, excellent service. We will definitely return soon.
The staff were very attentive. The ambience, decor and food were consistent with three price. I was very happy with Davio’s
Food good none of us ordered off the restaurant week menu
Great food, plenty of parking, exceptional service, and relaxing ambiance.
