The Caesar salad was especially good. Our steak was perfectly cooked, and for dessert: the chocolate bread pudding dessert was phenomenal!
As expected, the food was amazing. Our waitstaff was friendly, funny and prompt - definitely recommend!
Davio's Chestnut Hill is consistently excellent. We had friends from out of town and had dinner on a Saturday night. The service was terrific and the food was outstanding as usual. Drinks from the Bar were good but not great.
Excellent service and food
My wife’s clam dish was suppose to come with a red sauce and instead has a cream sauce and very few claims
We dined for our 5th wedding anniversary and our server made our night. He was so friendly and accommodating.
The food was outstanding as well- we will certainly be back!
Considering that out of the Teo entrees one had a bug crawling over it and I had to get the hostess to come by and take it since our waitress was no where for about 15-20 minutes. We also ordered some Mac cheese which was way too garlicky. The best part was the popovers
I always feel warmly received at Davios!
I appreciate the elegant atmosphere of white table cloths, candles, tables of different sizes and shapes spaced nicely apart.
With elderly people we appreciate the ability to talk and be heard in a booth or at a table.
The food is consistently VERY good as is the service.
In winter, the sparkle of lights outdoors in the trees is very pretty.
Davios is my favorite restaurant!
I try to take my entire family around Christmas/New Years out to a fine restaurant while all back from college etc. This time it was Davio's. It did not disappoint. Delicious food in a private dining room where I could enjoy my family. The service was great. This was a very nice evening. Thank you.
The food was wonderful and well worth the money. The service was great and overall, I could not have asked for better. I’ll definitely be back to try some more of the dishes on their expansive menu.
Haven’t been in a few years. It was good I’ll be back in a few years.
Excellent and generous cocktails, wide range of choices on the menu, excellent service and food. Best of all: no music blaring, just the sound of people talking and enjoying themselves.
Expensive but worth it
Great food and service
Davio's in Chestnut Hill is our favorite restaurant in Boston.
Bob the General Manager always makes us feel welcome.
We love the food especially the popovers.
It was fine.
Good food, nice ambiance, lovely service....BUT:
Watch out if you go to Davio's with a gift card.
You cannot use those funds for gratuity. (If you check the website, as of this writing, that fact is not disclosed to the purchaser).
If you want some real awkwardness when you get the bill, congratulations this is it.
Your server will politely explain that you can't use your gift card for a tip. Then if you want to put it on a credit card, they will explain that their system requires them to deduct a token amount from your bill in order to put a tip on a credit card. (Apparently you can't tip on a zero balance).
I suspect the folks that gave me the gift card wanted to pay for the meal in its entirety, including the tip.
Not only won't that work, but it is extremely awkward if you are taking others to dinner to have a huddle with your server over this absurd policy. This was not a nice surprise at the end of a lovely meal.
We were a group of six celebrating my birthday. We were delighted to be seated in a private dining room even though we did not request it. Everything about our experience was extraordinary - the food and service far exceeded our expectations. I am looking forward to dining at Davio’s again. This will definitely be our go-to restaurant for future celebrations.
Our family dined at Davio's after going to the Pops - I miscounted and we had 9 instead of 8! They were very gracious about it and were trying to move us to another table where we'd have more room but we were happy to snuggle in. Our waitress was very warm and welcoming (sorry I didn't catch her name!) and handled the group beautifully. The food was fabulous and all 9 dishes were served simultaneously by a team of servers, nice touch. Both the waitress and manager checked back with us which was appreciated. Highly recommend this Davio's for a lovely meal and fabulous service!
Davio’s has a nice atmosphere. The servers are very good and the food delicious. We like the menu because it has a wide range of options, something for every palette.
We had a bad experience at Davio’s downtown 15 years ago and have not been back since. Today we tried it again in Chestnut Hill. Just as bad. The food has always been okay. But the service has always been poor. How this place stays in business is a mystery to us.
Great food and ambiance! Fantastic chef and probably the best chef than the rest of the Davio's!
Food, service and ambiance always great!
Great service (Darcelle)
Food was prepared perfectly
We always love a visit to Davio’s. We can count on consistent excellence in food, service and ambience.
First time at Davio's. Lunch was lovely - relaxing updated atmosphere, friendly staff and innovative menu. Everything we ordered was delicious! We will be back again soon!
As always the food was fantastic, the service was top-notch and our server was informative and friendly. We dine there often and are always happy with the experience.
The ambiances is great. The busboy was asked to leave the bread, but took the butter away. Your signature smoked chicken pasta (which we've had many times over the years) was pretty tasteless. My tuna tartare and squash pasta were terrific.
What an excellent meal. Everything was served as described.
All the staff was so friendly and nice. Many fine dining restaurants treat us with contempt for bringing our young children, but everyone at Davio’s was so warm.
I would describe the food and atmosphere as adequate. Nothing special and nothing to “write home about”. The pasta was a bit watery but ok. The entree protein was a bit dry but fine. When you get to the price and value, I would say these are very close to Boston prices but not Boston quality. It’s convenient if you are there seeing a movie which is why we tend to go there.
We loved everything but were disappointed in the lack of Christmas decorations !
We had looked forward to seeing them!
For all 4 of us, meals and wine choices were superb. Server was professional and extremely pleasant. All around, very nice. Pricy but with significant value.
Great anniversary lunch!
We came to Davio’s before seeing a movie and were pleasantly surprised by the management staff that was visible throughout the evening. We did not have an issue that required a manager, but knowing they have their eyes on the floor was comforting. We started with the calamari which was very tender and not overcooked, but I would’ve liked more flavor from the aioli. We next had the braised short rib agnolotti appetizer portion which was outstanding. My boyfriend had the veal tenderloin and I had the flat iron steak, both were cooked perfectly and delicious. Overall very pleased with our experience and would definitely return and recommend.
Outstanding dinner !! The only drawback was that we had booked a window seat weeks in advance and when we got there there was a private party taking up the entire window area of the restaurant and no one had notified us when they called to confirm the reservation that we would be walled off from the view and in a separate area from what we wanted .. but we complained and the manager was very accommodating and sent wonderful appetizer to the table for our trouble .. that was a class move!
We will definitely return to this awesome restaurant .
We had amazing meals here last weekend at the Chestnut Hill location. I had the Cod and it was cooked perfectly, as was my husband's pasta chicken dish. Really great food.
Thanksgiving Turkey dinner was by far overpriced $65. Small portions and not very good
The other meals were up to Davios usual standards
Skip the the Turkey next year!!
Also they could use a bit more help because the service was a little slow
We had a wonderful experience at Davio’s, Chestnut Hill for Thanksgiving! Thank you!
