The Exotic Mushroom Ravioli was exceptional, the best ravioli I've ever had. The ice cream dessert was amazing. This was a wonderful dining experience for us. Doug
WOW! The food was fantastic and unique, service was great, and drinks were fun as well! I think it’s a great value too, this restaurant is a bit out of my boyfriend and I’s typical price range but it was SO worth it. Will absolutely come back next time I’m in Portland.
My boyfriend and I went to dinner Friday and it was so amazing. It was graduation weekend so it was very busy, they sat us in the back room with a couple big groups of parties- I asked our seat to be moved since we felt we were in the middle of a grad party and they moved us no questions asked to the front of the restaurant and it was perfect. We had the mussels to start, the steak tartar, for entrees I got the duck special and he got a salad with grilled shrimp we were not disappointed in any of the food and the drinks were great too!
Love the potsticker and beef salad. My friends had caesar salads and said they were bland and not very good. The clam chowder was odd, would not order again.
Great dinner at the counter, and a very good vegan entree.
David’s was the perfect combination of an upscale delicious meal in a relaxing, decorous atmosphere . We loved everything about it.
All of David Turin's restaurants are predictably outstanding.
Wonderful meal, professional service and warm ambience. Perfect for a special occasion.
Cute place. Food was good and cooked to our specifications. Drinks were tasty too. Staff were polite and attentive.
We were a large party for Mother’s Day. We all had a wonderful brunch which was enjoyed by all.
Great restaurant. Group of 5 -everyone loved the menu choices with 3 persons that had dietary issues. Very accommodating and food was delicious. Some of us did dinners and some did combination of appetizers. Highly recommend. Very small restaurant so definitely make reservations ahead of time. Good cocktail menu and wine listing as well. Didn’t have room for dessert.
One of the best meals I've ever had. And the broth for the mussels was exquisite. I'll be back for sure!!
The food was wonderful. I had requested a quieter table and we were seated at a table that seemed right in the way of other tables and the tasting bar. I didn’t say anything and should have. Of note- several of the dishes had quite a kick that was not mentioned on the menu. Being unable tolerate hot / spicy ingredients I was disappointed. The strawberry salad and Moroccan Shrimp were culprits. Next time I will remember to ask details.
David’s was wonderful. A little expensive, but worth the price. The food was amazing. I had the steak and my date had the haddock and crab. The staff were friendly. The only down side was that we were seated next to a large party who were loud. I don’t blame the restaurant for that though. Just know that is a very popular spot so it might get loud.
Our 2nd time eating here and loved much like the 1st!! Food is off the charts good, the flavors are mouthwatering. I eat out all over the Country and have come to love a great experience from start to finish and David’s lives up to this!! Great Job to the chefs and wait staff👍🏽
Fantastic food, great atmosphere, really nice appetizers!
Perhaps this is a great place if you get the right table and don't mind the price/portion ratio. I found it loud and uncomfortable and a bit high for the portion size.
Nelson , our server was fantastic! Food and energy was perfect! 10 out of 10!
Incredible! Delicious Arancini, divine garlic knots and the steak was perfectly sized and cooked.
We had an advanced reservation and arrived about 20 minutes early. Sat at the bar for a drink while waiting. Table was ready at the appointed time. It was in the back of the room near a waiter's station. We waited about 25 minutes before anyone approached. As we had our drinks and were yakking it seemed fine for awhile but finally we spoke to a waiter passing by and said no one had offered water or anything. He was very apologetic and immediately took over. Service was find after that for the most part.
Our appetizers of bruschetta and calamari were quite good and flavorful. The garlic not rolls were excellent.
Main courses arrived nicely hot and plentiful. Two of our party had the haddock with crab which was overpowered by the blueberry sauce-not a good combination for sure. Other entrees-Duck with a squash risotto and a steak over mashed potatoes were very good. We shared one of David's chocolate cookies for dessert-Ok but a bit under cooked.
Some ordered the smaller portion of wine offered but got the larger and were charged for that. Small issue I suppose but why offer one and bring the wrong one?
We have enjoyed David's for many years and will continue to do so . But, bolster the service and lose the blueberry sauce for the haddock please.
Food was excellent. Service was gracious and prompt. I had the lobster ravioli. It was served with magnificent chunks of lobster claw, scallops, and shrimp. Every bite of seafood was cooked perfectly, and the pasta was delicious.
Wonderful! Exceptional food and great service! Only negative is how difficult to find a place to park.
a beautiful place
David's was the perfect place to bring my mom for her birthday! In my OpenTable reservation, I had requested a specific dessert off the menu to be brought out to her with a candle and the wait staff/kitchen crew exceeded my expectations! I made no mention of this request during dinner, so it was a lovely surprise for my mom. Thanks David's!
Enjoyed the food. The pace of the restaurant, including dining time was very speedy and rushed.
Sat at the counter seats overlooking the kitchen! Amazing chefs turning out great looking food!
Once again, David's filled the bill. My partner thoroughly enjoyed her local haddock with crab meat, though my Scottish salmon was not as crisp and succulent as I recall from past visits. The "medium" I asked for was just a tad on the juicy side, which is still better than the other way around. Finally, the small garlic knots of bread were dry; in the past they have been almost the highlight of the meal they were so savory. All in all, we'll definitely go back, and I'll just hope for a slightly better meal.
Creative, delicious food; good variety. Attentive, friendly waiter, vreative and tasty coctails.
Water glasses dirty. Please figure out a way to get lipstick off of glasses, its a reality you must address.
Room was very loud. Food good.
Excellent service and food. Very friendly.
As usual dinner at David’s was awesome! Sitting at the counter overlooking the kitchen area is a fun experience and positively adds to the overall dinner experience. David’s does not disappoint.
Elegant, delicious, attentive staff nothing could have been better
Everything was excellent except that the ‘medium’ duck orders arrived ‘rare’
We arrived a few minutes late for our reservation but the staff was accommodating and let us know ahead of time that there was another reservation for our table later in the evening. There was no rush to clear the table but was great to know this ahead of time. Our server was very helpful with making decisions on wine and dinner and both were excellent choices. We will certainly look at David’s for future outings.
Outstanding food and service!
We arrived about 30 minutes before our reservation, no problem. We were seated right away. Our server was fantastic, very attentive (sorry I don't remember her name). The food was excellent and well presented. For desert I got the ice cream sandwich cookie as did my wife. We should have split one they were huge! It was a busy place and the noise level is high but we had a great meal. It's a high end restaurant so be prepared to spend some money. Well worth it.
We usually enjoy Davids very much. This was not a good experience. My steak (fillet) had a lot of fat in it. It was comped and I thanked them. We were on the Opus room. There was a four top table next to us that had 4 seated. Before we were done eating the brought in 4 more chairs an had 7 sitting and drinking only. (Loud). I could not believe it!!!! It was just before 6.
Creative, tasty food in a fun atmosphere. The one downside is many seats close to service stations and kitchen pick up counter. The homemade rolls are fabulous.
Food was delicious and the ambiance is awesome. Waitress a little on the “snotty” side and not very warm and friendly. Disappointed that I was not advised of a cancellation charge for members of my party that did not come as planned.
Enjoyed every bite. This is my go to place in Portland when I want a great meal.
