Situé au pied du quartier des arts de Portland au Monument Square, le chef et propriétaire David Turin a déménagé le David's Restaurant à cet emplacement historique en 1998. Le restaurant est décoré avec goût et créativité et rend hommage au "Great Fire", seul bâtiment sorti indemne de ce feu en 1866.     Cozy and comfortable, at a corner high top. Fish was delish! (One haddock, one salmon). Bruschetta was a yummy start. Enjoyed my white burgundy wine. Dessert (crisp) was boring and I would not choose it again. But a nice choice for a Friday night in Portland. Thanks.

    I recommended the restaurant for our group of 8, 3 of whom had never been there before. One of the newbies, who is himself, a fabulous cook, said it was the best restaurant meal that he had in years!

    Wonderful meal before attending Simon & Garfunkel Story at the Merrill Auditorium which was a short walk away. Our server Jenna was excellent, so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the bar choices. When you're in the area, this is the place to go!

    We've visited David's 388 frequently and we're always impressed with our experience. The food was terrific. We expected the same from the other David's restaurant but it was quite disappointing. The restaurant itself and the wait staff were great but the food was not well prepared despite the individual ingredients being good quality. The highlight was the open faced ravioli which was topped with fresh seafood and a delicious sherry lobster sauce but the ravioli was very doughy and rubbery. This was the same for the mushroom ravioli. The other 2 meals; herb crusted haddock and filet au poivre we awful. The filet was over cooked and the au pointed sauce was sweet and oddly flavored. The haddock was on top of a sticky, pasty risotto and floating in a weird vinegary sauce. Appetizers were not great either. The baked brie was oily and the pot stickers were way over cooked. Even the desserts weren't great except for the cheesecake. Very disappointing for $400.

    Terrific choice in Portland. Food, service, and cocktails were great. Chose the duck and meat pizza, both were delicious!!
