I had the Pepper crusted Ahi with asparagus & cold soda noddle salad . Fantastic the best Ahi I’ve ever had and then for desert I had the chefs ice cream 3 scoops of chocolate brownie with Kula and Bailey’s yum!
Amazing amazing amazing! Great service, delicious food, and cozy feel! When we come back to Portland we will be back to David’s!!
Ordered the potsticker salad and the meatloaf sandwich, along with spicy margarita. Everything was fantastic. I'd eat there every day if I could!
While the atmosphere is pretty low key and down home, the wonderful food and service is top rate. The roasted Brussel sprouts were the best I have ever had! The seafood dishes were incredible., The desserts could not have been better, and the wine selection was excellent. Thank you!
Food? DELICIOUS. Service? SOME OF THE BEST EVER. I'm a server/bartender at a local dive bar/pub and to go out and have a delicious meal is incredibly special. I didn't get our server's name, but he was an absolute gentleman. Kind, attentive, and made the perfect reccomendations. I really enjoyed the mussels, garlic knots, duck, and ice cream. What a perfect way to celebrate an anniversary. I will be coming back in the future without a doubt in my mind.
David's restaurant is a go-to and they take guest safety very seriously. Of course the food is awesome, too.
Fantastic spot great service fast and accommodating. The food was amazing and I really liked the ambiance. I wish I lived closer so I could go more often.
I had a wonderful dinner this past weekend at David’s celebrating my boyfriends birthday. The cocktails and food were delicious. We had such a great experience we will definitely be back again!
Great experience for parents anniversary dinner. Able to accommodate our group size. Food was delicious we all left very stuffed. Will definitely be back
Excellent food and service! Delicious Brussel sprouts !
David’s was very conscientious about following COVID restrictions; there were only four other small tables occupied in the room.
Service was attentive and the food, as always, was excellent: yummy garlic knots, freshBangs Island mussels, baked haddock, and Portland steak cooked to perfection. Too full for dessert but they sounded delicious. A nice evening out.
Food was great.
Waiter was helpful and engaging.
I requested a window seat and it was provided.
The food was fantastic. The creativity, presentation, quality, all outstanding. Staff was friendly. Highly recommend. Great place!
Dinner was delicious. Our server was extremely personable. Very clean and took COVID protocols seriously. This was my third time visiting Portland and my third time eating at David's.
Friends visiting from out of town
Fantastic is all I can say! Had the Lobster ravioli in Sherry cream sauce. It was done perfectly the sea food was a great compliment to the pasta!
Then I had the chefs ice cream! Made my day
David’s never disappoints! Our favorite is the Brussels sprout appetizer ! Covid precautions done well.
We loved the decor in the restaurant and had a seat near the window. The truffle fries were to die for. The service was awesome. The only downfall is that it was a little bit expensive, but it was a perfect spot for a Saturday lunch after walking around downtown Portland.
Everything was great! Food, Service
This restaurant is a gem. We came here for lunch one day after finding it on TripAdvisor. We with started with the Caesar salad with lobster appetizer. We split this and it was more than enough for an appetizer. For our entrée we had the lobster ravioli which simply amazing. This dish was just so unique and tasty and if you love seafood I highly recommend this dish. In addition to lobster there were also scallops and shrimp. A must have is the garlic knots.we ordered this for dipping.. unbelievable! One person in our party had the clam chowder appetizer and sirloin for his entree, both of which were also outstanding. We cannot wait to return. Kudos to the chef for an outstanding and memorable meal.
Overall great experience, haven’t been to David’s in years. The food was fantastic, would highly recommend!
The food was absolutely outstanding: My wife had the lobster ravioli with shrimp and scallops, which was overflowing with seafood and was truly delicious. I had the duck, which was done just right, complemented by excellent risotto. All this with a glass of wine each and individual sinful desserts came to $100 before tax and tip. It was a deal!
Great place enjoyed the meatloaf! The cheesecake was to die for! I will be back!
Definitely try the duck
The service was exceptional as was the food. We began with wine and an appetizer.... no hurrying from the waitress. Upon ordering our meal, the wait was minimal and the food again was delicious! We will return once more with friends and make sure we leave room for dessert next time.
The food was ok. Mine was good, my boyfriend had bacon wrapped steak. The bacon was not cooked well. Dessert was good. The ambiance was ok. The menus were stained with old spills, Christmas garland was still wrapped around the entrance. Not the upscale environment you’d expect
Always great food/meal. Seared Tuna tops.
Excellent all the way around and the food was delicious as always. Will come many more times!
We have always loved David Turin and all of his dining opportunities.
We were seated (near a window) quickly. Our server appeared immediately with water and menus. I used to chuckle to myself each time I looked at their menu and saw meat loaf on it. Who goes to a fine dining restaurant to order that?! Well, from now on count me in! I’m glad my companion convinced me to give it a try. Best ever! Drinks were good and generous. No room for dessert.
Excellent meal as always. Nice social distancing. Hand sanitizer spray on the table for our use. Our server was really super. No one should miss an opportunity to dine at David's.
excellent as always
We ate at David's during restaurant week. Overall, the food was very good. However, service was quite slow and there was a loud party in the back of the restaurant that detracted from the ambiance. May be just some pandemic related staffing issues. We would certainly eat there again.
Sat us immediately. Our table was distanced away from others and our server wore her mask the entire time. Drinks and food delivered to our table in a timely manner.
The food was delicious! We enjoyed every bite! We will be returning to David’s.
My lunch was a real treat. Having had the Covid vaccine I felt comfortable eating inside. Sure beats takeout! It was all superb - soup, shrimp and chocolate torte. Highly recommended.
We love this restaurant. The food is excellent, especially the potato pizza. That is a real treat. We had Erin as our server and she was wonderful.
The food was excellent but the service was well below what you would expect !
Restaurant week - food was not as good as it usually it and we felt rushed between courses.
Selected David's due to past experiences as well as their Maine Restaurant Week 3-course menu. As usual, the food, the drinks, and the service did not disappoint.
Made me realize what I have been missing during the pandemic - time to go back to restaurants like David's!
