David's Restaurant & Lounge
Wow!! All I can say is if you don’t eat at this place while you’re in town, you missed out! I am a fine restaurant connoisseur and this establishment could give lessons on how to run one! They have the perfect combination of etiquette and friendliness. The food was absolutely delightful. The staff is incredibly pleasant and attentive without being overbearing. If you’re on a budget, save a little extra so you can enjoy this venue.
Michael the server was outstanding! He anticipated everything that we needed and provided great recommendations
We have been to David’s several times. This was the most disappointed time we experienced. It was a special occasion, our anniversary, but everything was just mediocre, not special. The clam appetizer is a favorite, but clams were not available that evening. The sea bass dish was okay, but lacked presentation. The potatoes lacking freshness, grayish in appearance, asparagus not trimmed. We looked forward our favorite dessert, creme brûlée, but disappointed with the texture of the creme. The creme was not silky and smooth, it was over cooked, and grainy. Had to send back. So overall, a disappointing experience for celebrating our wedding anniversary at restaurant considered fine dining $$$.
This place is the best hands down in Jacksonville customer service is awesome
Excellent dinner experience food was amazing and service was even better.
We had a fabulous dining experience from start to finish! The ambiance and appearance was inviting and modern with an elegant feel. Our server, Robert was delightful...pleasant, knowledgeable, friendly, attentive and enhanced our experience. The food was superb! As a dessert snob and foodie, I can say that the creme brulee was the best I have ever tasted! Pure perfection! Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood would have been delighted! Thanks for a wonderful Mother's Day celebration and attention to all the details! Highly recommend David's to anyone who appreciates fine dining at its best!
The food was excellent! We enjoyed everything we ordered. There is a noise issue, but it wasn't as bad this time as last. I asked for a quiet table so we were given a table in a corner and was told that was the best they could do. The delicious food made up for everything!
One word, EXCELLENT!
My husband and I went for our 20th anniversary, and it was perfect! The best meal we've had in Fernandina Beach, and we can't wait to go back! Best scallops I've ever had!
Fantastic food and superb service. A little pricey, but worth it. A truly fine dining experience.
My husband and I had dinner here last Friday. It was outstanding! I know it is pricey, but I think you get what you pay for. I had the filet topped with fois gras. The beef was perfectly cooked (rare), very tender and flavorful. It was a very generous serving. I had enough left over for breakfast the next day! My husband got the 3.5 pounds of Alaskan king crab. The crab was perfectly done, so tender and tasty- he ate every last bite! Then, they sent us back to the hotel with a box of huge chocolate covered strawberries. We both highly recommend this restaurant! We look forward to eating there again when we are in Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach!
The food was excellent, my wife got Salmon, and it was probably the best salmon she's ever had. I got sea bass, and the sauce was incredible. Our server was outstanding, he was very attentive, and personable. It was a great dining experience.
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere! Waiters attentive without hovering. Nice place for a quite dinner.
We celebrated our anniversary and were not disappointed. Everything was perfect, as usual.
Four of us dined here because we have eaten here several times. It has been several years since we were here and the food quality has gone done significantly. Three had filets and I had scallops. Only one of the steaks was cooked as ordered. The sauce that came with it was disliked by all three. One of my scallops was raw. We are not complainers and didn’t let the restaurant know. We just won’t be back. Too bad.
A Great find on Open Table, reviews were great so we thought we would try it.
We went for our Anniversary. From entering the restaurant to the end of our meal the experience was GREAT!!!
We both had steaks and they tasted great, the "only" hiccup was that my wife's steak was cooked too long and was not medium rare like she likes, it came out medium, not to her likings. They took it back and made her a new one but I already had my meal and was eating and it took a long time to get her steak back to eat I was almost done with my meal, so she had to sit and watch me eat, I would have thought it would get back to her pretty quick since I already had my food and was eating. They finally came out with a new steak and they upsized her steak to the next size steak because of the wait.
Our Server I would recommend seeing if she is available when someone goes there, her name was (Vanessa) GREAT knowledge of the menu with recommendations that were spot on!!!
We will definitely be back when in town, this is a Great location
Great food. Great service.
David's is truly one of the top dining experiences on Amelia Island. The staff is highly trained & it shows. The service is outstanding, friendly, knowledgeable & very attentive. The food never disappoints, it is delicious, bountiful & beautifully presented. This restaurant is beautifully decorated & very comfortable. David's is a fantastic place to celebrate a special occasion but always a great choice for a terrific meal.
One of the best dinning experiences in a very long time. The wait staff was very informative and non-intrusive. allowing us to dine in a relaxed environment. Great meal!!
Fantastic service and great food. The steak was cooked just as I asked and the seafood was unparalleled. Recommend the Chilean sea bass dish!
By far the best meal Ive ever had, our server was incredible. Will be a must go any time we are in the area.
The service and food was outstanding. Even the bread was fantastic. They make everything perfect. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the mushroom risotto was beyond fabulous
Favorite restaurant in Florida. Great food wonderful decor and ambience. Wait staff very professional but also fun . A little pricey but well worth it if you have a special occasion.
Best service I have ever seen. The food was perfect. I will be going back soon
Exceptional service, Delicious martinis, Amazing appetizers, Great menu, Yummy desserts. Wonderful experience.
My husband and I took our daughter there during spring break. The food was excellent as was the service!
Amazing meal from start to finish - the staff were courteous and professional, the food was fantastic, great selection and good, fresh quality. Expansive wine list and well made cocktails. Perfect for a special occasion meal!!
It was Not our First experience at This venue and it certainly will not be our last.Even the most "picky" diner would have a problem finding something to make them unhappy......Bill and Louise Straub
Incredible dining experience! 5 star !!! Highly recommend it!
Terrific night, great service. Food was exceptional!
FOOD AND SERVICE WERE GREAT. THE RESTAURANTS ATMOSPHERE WAS A LITTLE STARK AND MINIMALISTIC FOR MY TASTE. WITHIN 30 SECONDS OF WALKING INTO DINING ROOM YOU HAVE SEEN IT ALL AND ARE VISUALLY BORED.
Very cozy and quaint restaurant. Service was impeccable and the staff was very friendly. Ordered the special which was the sea bass crab cake and it was delicious. No seasoning needed, lightly breaded and flaky. Had the salmon special along with the sirloin. Cooked to perfection and the wine paring was right on point. My only complaint would be that our table was right next to the kitchen and because the place was so busy, it was high traffic all night.
Parking was plentiful and free and to drive an hour to get here. It was worth it. We will definitely be back. Very pleased.
We visited Amelia Island for my husband’s birthday get away and David’s was recommended to us by several locals! We enjoyed our dining experience greatly and Glen our server was fantastic; as well as very informative about the red wine we ordered. The crab bisque was delicious and my husband wanted to take a pot of it home. My 1/2 a Caesar salad was very good and just the right amount! I had the Dover Sole with risotto and grilled asparagus. The flavors were great however the sole was slightly over cooked. My husband had the scallops with red bliss mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. The mashed potatoes were a gelatinous glob and tasteless, very disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber. The scallops while cooked to perfection were very bland... he loved his grilled asparagus! The atmosphere is wonderful and it was quiet. I love sitting at booths because you can sit next to each other and enjoy your meal and the ambience. The waitstaff was very attentive and the Birthday congratulations card very thoughtful. We had crime brûlée for dessert with some port it was a wonderful way to end a very enjoyable evening! I really appreciated not being rushed during our meal I miss that in fine dining restaurants these days. We will return.
As usual the food and ambience were perfect. Because it was so busy service was a little slow but we will definitely be back. It is one of our favorites
This was our first visit to David’s Restaurant. Don’t let the outside fool you because as you walk inside it’s a very chic place. The decor is modern and clean but with a hint of upscale steakhouse touches. We were taken very good care of from all of the staff. We were not wowed by the food but it was fine, the mixed drinks we ordered were very good. The parking is a bit tight and located around the back of the building but there are quite a few spaces plus some parking across the street. I feel that you will find a spot quite easily being that it is not located close to the old town district. All in all we had a lovely evening here but we were not super impressed with the food. We don’t have a problem paying a bit for a fantastic meal but we want it to be in fact fantastic. We will probably give it another go as there are so many outstanding reviews.
Great food an service.
I recently enjoyed my 70-th birthday dinner at David's and it was all my friends indicated it would be.
Very appreciative of the service and so nice to enjoy a great meal without suffering through a great noise level. Birthday greeting was nice. Would recommend Davids's to any of my friends.
Celebrated our anniversary. Excellent in every way. Crab bisque, sea bass, sole, seared foie gras - all delectable.
We had the Alaskan King Crab clusters...4 lbs at $60 a pound and was served a non-butter substance for dipping. 😔
The website advertised: “candlelit butter” and it was not served like that.
The crab was delicious but would have been 20x better with the presentation they advertised and NOT a yellow, oily liquid served on the plate in a small glass container.
My Mother loved the lamb chops.
