David's Restaurant & Lounge Ratings and Reviews
Dinner was impeccable! V friendly and helpful service both at lounge and at table. All dishes were cooked to perfection, no flaws. I had Biloxi clams, they were the best I had, the sauce was balanced and not overpowering by the smoked bacon and pepper. The clams were cooked just right. For main dish we had scallops and chilean sea bass, both heavenly, perfectly cooked, perfect timing!!! Even my son’s papardelle were very tasty. One more credit is that David’s got Half bottles wine here, not many restaurants offer that. i think this is clever as these days as a lot of people need to drive these days. it’s nicer to be able to order half bottle than by glass as a couple when you can’t order a full bottle. this restaurant had really exceeded my expectation as they claimed on their own leaflet. We went to The Salt the following night and we both like David’s more !!!!!
My wife and I visit Fernandina about three times a year and always plan on having dinner at David's. Since we live in Savannah, it's only about two hours away. On our last visit on November 17, we were celebrating my birthday and knew Davids was the place to go. We both had the filet and they were cooked to perfection and delicious. Afterwards we had a wonderful dessert and finished the evening off at the bar for after dinner drinks. Our server for the evening was Taylor, who took excellent care of us. Can't say enough good things about David's. Our "go to" place in Fernandina.
We went for my Husbands Birthday based on a recommendation from friends. They said it was amazing and it lived up to every word. We started the evening with drinks in the bar. The bartender was friendly and recommended a champagne drink that was awesome. When we went to the dining room the service was spot on. Everything was timed perfectly and the steaks would melt in your mouth. We will definitely go again!
We were very disappointed. Long long waits for everything, including first drinks and seconds. Option to have steak "Pittsburgh" style was VERY poorly done. Restaurant was NOT over-crowded and with an eight pm seating we expected to have better food and MUCH better service. Too bad. Much too much $$$ for far too little.
We like the place, ambiance great, service great. If there was a down side it's that some of the dishes are over complicated. I like escargot with garlic and butter, they have garlic, onion, tomato sauce, cheese. You lose the snail. I know that sounds stupid but that's how I feel. That's a small thing, went there for our anniversary and will go back again
We have never had bad meal or bad service at David’s. The “extra touches,” such as a unique wooden box to serve the homemade bread and the between courses sorbet, make this a lovely place for special occasions. I especiallyrecommend the lamb chops and crab bisque.
Delicious dinner and service was excellent! Patrick and Colby(? I think) were awesome! Also other waitstaff were attentive to our needs! This was my Daddy’s first visit to David’s after he lost his wife in July. ( my stepmother) of over 50 years! David’s was one of her most favorite dining experiences!
Oh and Daddy was so impressed that they could make a Singapore Sling! So good he had two! I was driving, of course! Thanks for a very special Dining experience for a very beloved man in my life, my 88 year old Daddy! Yes, obviously I am a daddy’s girl!
Dinner and service was outstanding. The night we were there a party of 6 was very loud and rowdy which distracted from our anniversary dinner and we wished management had perhaps asked them to quiet down a bit but they did not.
The atmosphere is beautiful, food was awesome and worth the price. Best scallops I ever had!
Anniversary dinner. Polite and attentive wait staff. Delicious steak like I haven’t had in a very long time. Grilled to my specifications. Warm bread and soft butter. Not that just out of the fridge clumps on your bread stuff. I wish they were closer to St. Augustine. I would definitely be a regular. Next time I’m in Fernandina, I will make a reservation.
The Delmonico steak was terrible and WAY overpriced! Was 44 dollars and supposed to be top 1% of all prime steaks. Not even close! Have had much better ribeyes at Longhorn and Outback for half the price!! Also was not cooked right. Ordered medium rare and half was cooked more medium and other half almost tare-tare. Steak was also less than a quarter inch thick. What a waste of money!!!
