David’s Restaurant in Carlisle is all about fine dining. Which is just as well, because it’s housed inside a gorgeous Victorian townhouse in the heart of one of the UK’s most historic cities – only the best food is appropriate for such a setting. You’ll find David’s Carlisle on Warwick Road where the menu is wonderfully British and almost all of the produce used is locally sourced where possible. David’s has been in business for well over 10 years now and has earned quite the loyal following of locals, as well as visitors to the area. Warm, friendly welcome to this lovely restaurant. Very nice meal with much of it (especially the chicken liver pate) clearly home made. Limited but well thought out wine list with the recommended wine being very nice, good value and perfectly paired to our meal. Service was efficient, friendly and the proprietor (I assume) gave us helpful information about a lovely cocktail bar not far away. Overall a very friendly and enjoyable dining experience, we will definitely be back. It's well worth the train journey from Dumfries!
