So lucky to have experienced this restaurant before it closed. I was told they have 1 more week until they cease operations. However David Burke has many more establishments that I will be trying.
Our experience was outstanding. The food was wonderful! The ambiance was great. We had a wonderful time celebrating our daughter in law’s promotion.
The food was incredible. So sad to see this come to an end. Perhaps in better times it can reopen to the public
Really unfortunate that this location will be closing due to Covid restrictions. But I am happy we got to experience it before its gone.

We arrived to see a beautiful setting, but found there to be no heat lamps outdoors with 50 degree temperatures. Outdoor dining has been alive and well for months now with Covid protocols so we were shocked that such an establishment would be so woefully unprepared. We did not sit for dinner and will not return unless changes are made.
Vegetarian friendly and excellent service. Recommended.

The food at David Burke at Orange Lawn never disappoints. Inventive yet classic. Bravo to the chef and staff. Only knock is that table, after three courses, gets a bit covered in crumbs, etc., and the otherwise attentive waitstaff didn't bother to clean it up.

Food was good though not spectacular. The clothesline bacon was very good, the entrées were good (though not amazing) and my husband really enjoy the banana cream pie. Very limited desert choices for anyone who can't eat gluten. Service was poor. Our waiter completely forgot about us after we ordered dinner. I had to flag down a server to get the dessert menu & then wave my arms at the servers who were at the serving station at one end of the tent to order dessert. Then we had to ask for utensils for the dessert. I had to ask for water twice and they didn't even provide a pen to sign the check. I understand why they need a serving station at the tent but it's too close to some of the tables. The sound of the plates and utensils banging around is loud and doesn't say fine dining to me. Also one of the managers asked if he could take one of our chairs for a table on the other side of the tent even though we were next to two empty tables - that was weird and unnecessary.

Menu had lots of choices that could appeal to many palettes.
One of the entrees we had was the Bone-in ribeye for 2. It was priced at $90 which is nearing NYC steakhouse pricing. Though the size of the steak was fine (30 oz with the bone), the cut was very fatty. I have to say it was a little disappointing.

This was one of my favorite spots prior to Covid. My husband and I finally went back this weekend. Sadly the inside restaurant is still closed. We sat outside under a tent, but were cold bc no space heaters. My drink took a while to make and arrived incorrect. The tuna tacos are always a hit! Lobster dumplings were disappointing - we should have stuck with our usual bacon. We shared the steak for 2 which was undercooked but okay. Next time we will go back to getting separate entrees. Needless to say, we probably won’t return until we can eat inside. It just felt less special outside and we did not get the same attention as the team usually provides when indoors.

I hope they figure out a way to bring it inside or heat the tent area. We had a fabulous meal and would like to dine there again. But it's getting cold!
There were no heaters and it was outside in October! It was freezing!
There was a wedding going on so techno/dance party music was playing the entire time throughout dinner.
The service was extremely slow. They had like 3 waiters.
Third time being there with temperatures dropping - could have used
propane outdoor heat source - there was a wedding going on inside
and none of patrons seemed to be wearing masks when roaming through building,
i.e. ladies lounge -- felt a little uncomfortable
A great meal served with panache at a terrific location.
The overall ambiance was great, and made us feel safe eating out, but the food was seriously lacking.
The waiter was outstanding but it takes so long to get your drink, dinner and check. That’s the complaint I here from all of my friends
The staff did an outstanding job with the safety protocols while enabling us to have a wonderful meal in the tent. We went on the early side to avoid the busier times.
Dining under the tent next to the tennis bubble was certainly less than ideal, the food was well prepared but much of it was served cold, presumably because of the time & distance from kitchen to the tent. Overall has the look & feel of a wedding at a catering all

David Burke has found a way to create a certain special magic under the beautifully set up white tent and twinkling lights in response to COVID challenges. The menu never fails to deliver, the staff has been gracious and safe all around, and well, those cocktails will certainly make the night a joyful one. Love visiting.

We dined here this past weekend to celebrate my wife's birthday. Outdoor setup is beautiful. Tented canopies decorated with small lights on a lawn. First of all the service was superb. Very attentive. we were seated right away and our drink order was taken. For appetizers my wife had a salad which she said was very good and I had the gazpacho with shrimp. Bowl came with shrimp skewers and some thinly sliced cucumbers on bottom and server poured gazpacho into it. Honestly while the gazpacho was delicious, it barely covered bottom of bowl. It seemed server didn't empty soup from pouring vessel, so that was very dissapointing, especially for $18. For dinner my wife had the chicken Milanese and said it was very good. I ordered the grilled U 10 shrimp. When I ordered I asked serer how many came with order And she informed me 6 or 7, I received 5 and they were clearly smaller than U 10s. Delicious , but disappointing size. Again at this price point should have been more. Served on a very small bed of wilted arugula with no accompaniments, It was closer to an appetizer than a main course. Based on taste this place is a five, but based on the other shortfalls mentioned it really is a 3 or 4.
My sister and I dined here over the weekend. The atmosphere was beautiful with lights in the tent and tennis racquets adorning the walkway. The hostesses were warm and friendly. Our server was outstanding, very knowledgeable and personable. The food was also outstanding. A wonderful night out!

We have been coming to David Burke at Orange Lawn since it opened and booked a table for our wedding anniversary a week in advance. I also called two days ahead of our reservation to ask that we be seated in the tent and not in the restaurant or at the bar. I was told by the manager “No Problem “. When we arrived the hostess wanted to sit us at a table in the parking lot! I asked for another table and the hostess rolled her eyes at me and said that we would have to wait another 30 to 45 minutes. I then spoke to the manager who was dismissive and downright rude. He begrudgingly gave us a table and things just went further downhill from there. It took 30 minutes to get a drink. Service was extremely slow to nonexistent. And at the end our anniversary dinner they put a candle on the dessert we had ordered. Nice touch David Burke at Orange Lawn.

This was my 2nd time there with my friend. We had a great time, it was outside dining. The food and drinks were very good. Our server Stefan was very polite and pleasant. We would definitely go again..

We have dined at David Burke Orange Lawn on a few occasions... so this is perhaps not a fair assessment. Had this been our first dining experience here, however, we would likely never return.
We made an 8:15 reservation and finally were seated at 9:05. Unacceptable.. Four separate individuals came over to say they would check on our waiting status, while only one actually returned. Were they embarrassed to say a table was still not available?! Most assuredly!
When seated they asked our drink order.. it took 15 more minutes to get the drink delivered, and finally were asked if we were ready to place our food order!!🙄 I would suspect that answer should be “YES” since we had been seated nearly an hour after our reservation!
Pop-overs, which are delicious, were delivered.. but when my husband and I returned from the ladies and men’s rooms, they had already been taken away!!! ... with only a small taste of each by each of us! Crazy! So much for the best part of our meal.. appeared and disappeared!
Our meal was served at almost 10:00 (8:15 reservation!!) .. Everything served together.. Which we actually didn’t mind given the late hour it was already, but certainly not appropriate for fine dining! The lobster appetizer was very bland and the top of the pasta was hard to chew so we set that part aside. The filet mignon my husband ordered was so rare it nearly walked off the table, tho he ordered medium rare.. It was also standing alone on the edge of a large white plate with two small wilted lettuce leaves tossed at its side .. Such a sad presentation for a supposedly upscale special dinner! My chicken with apricots was delicious thank goodness... but again, presentation was greatly lacking..
Dessert?? We passed! It was already 10:30 and far too late .. furthermore, we SADLY had our fill of disappointment.
As we all know, this is truly a special occasion beautiful restaurant... When we make a choice to dine with David Burke, it should be nothing less than divine!
David Burke makes food fun. His imaginative way he serves thin, crispy wasabi bread sticks in a jar with a little bit of olive oil and his big fluffy popovers set the mood for what's to come. We were probably the only patrons who did not order the when pigs fly appetizer, though it looked really good. We shared the kale caesar, which was delicious and very generous for 2. The fish was satisfying as was the hamburger. We did not have room for dessert, but plan on coming back again for the bacon appetizer and to sample his creative confections.
Excellent option for eating outdoors in NJ. Beautiful tents with lights, tablecloths, upscale but comfortable. The popovers were delicious, warm, served upon being seated. Very good fresh salad with grilled salmon, delicious fig appetizer special. Very good service.
So sad....this was the worst service experience we have had in our life.
8:30pn red. We weren’t acknowledged initially, questioned about how long ago we made the reservation (hours earlier), no server came to our table, eventually I asked to order a drink. What appears to be a manager took a drink order, delivered them, took our order......1.5 hrs later the French fries and ap tacos arrived - we couldnt stay and wait - it was already 10pm. No one cared. At the end the server who didn’t care we were in her area asked is we needed anything “your boss”. The captain said sorry, we were “comp-Ed” the two drinks, French fries and ap tacos.
We live in the town.....we want to spend $$$& on food and drink.

Loved the setting. The staff was outstanding. The issue was The kitchen dispatched our appetizers at different times. (There was only three of us.. and my birthday!). My sons steak was very fatty and could not be cut easily. Was hoping for a little more on my bday! Our server was great. Issues were out of her control.
I was here two weeks ago and was so impressed. So I was so excited to bring my parents here. I was so disappointed this time around. The service was bad. Took me asking three times for the bread for the table. Almost 45 min had passed before we placed an order for food. Tables seated 15 min after us had orders and bread immediately after sitting down. The waiter was unapologetic over the lack of attention. Another table had to actually get up and ask him to come over. Food was not as warm as expected. For the price per meal I felt guilty letting my parents pay for dinner. I was definitely surprised by my new experience.
