This was AMAZING. I got the dry-aged tomahawk and it was DELICIOUS. Definitely the best steak on the island. Sides were delicious too, we got the mashed potatoes and the brussel sprouts! And last but not least, Nick our server was OUTSTANDING! i WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!

Lobster was with no flavor. Steak was ok. Shrimps were too oily. The beef curry was with no salt and tasteless. The owner, Jerry, was convincing my wife and kids to order only bottle of water, because tap water is bad for you. When my daughter had to use the bathroom, they were calling on her to finish - very rude. Last time we were there.

One the best stakes I have ever had. My wife said the Duck was phenomenal. The chief was one of the best. After trying many different places on the island we actually went back for a second time while on the island.

Dave and Jerry’s is our favorite restaurant on St John. The food is always excellent with the Ribeye and Coconut Shrimp among our faves. We also recommend the margarita which is fantastic.

First of all, be aware that this is a very small restaurant. If you make a reservation, best chose inside, as the outside only has one table for 4, some bar seating and very tight seating on a railing that doesn’t provide a lot of space and faces the street. Having said this, the cocktails and selected dishes were very good. However, the steaks are market price and if you don’t ask ahead of time, you are guaranteed sticker shock. An 8-ounce filet was $65, and they charge you extra for any sauces ($5) and sides ($13 each). We had escargot and the charred romaine salad to start, and the filet for a main course for my husband, and I chose to have the coconut shrimp appetizer for a main course, because it is a large portion with 6 shrimp, which was plenty for me (and I love coconut shrimp…). Everything was delicious, but the meat price was astounding, even considering that we are on an island. We have been to other upscale restaurants on this island, and none of them were this pricey, not even offering one side with the meal but charging extra for everything. The quality and flavor of the food made this a good meal, but we will not return.

We had dined at Dave & Jerry's in the past and were very pleased, so we wanted to bring some first-time visitors with us this time. Unfortunately, we did not have a very good experience. When we got there it was very quiet and calm, with only one other table occupied with a nice group of four celebrating a birthday. But within 15 minutes a large and noisy wedding party arrived that occupied about 3/4 of the restaurant. It was immediately so loud that you couldn't hear a word of our own conversation at our table of four, and it just got louder and louder as the evening went on. To make matters worse, our server was having what I'm hoping was just an off night. Slow service, missing food items, other items delivered that we didn't order, lack of follow up with drinks, incorrect bill, etc. Certainly not what we had come to expect from this establishment. I'm not blaming the wedding party at all; they were there to celebrate and I'm glad they had a good time, and my congrats to them if they happen to see this review. But, since Dave & Jerry's does not have a separate room for events like this, a few things could have happened differently... First, if most but not all of your tables will be occupied by an event like this, let those who happen to book afterwards be aware of this fact via a simple email or call. That way they can choose a different night for the visit. And if the wedding party happened to book after any other tables have been reserved, then follow up and let those who already booked know that a large group has recently booked up most of the restaurant. Again, this gives the option of choosing another night or time.

Steaks were fantastic and perfectly cooked. Sides were average and lukewarm. We had potatoes and asparagus. Service was excellent. Pricy but everything in St John is. Would try again.

Only leaving this because it was a high end place, on our honeymoon, looked forward to going there due to pre-booked reservation from reviews and I think the waitress forgot to put in our order. We ordered at 6:45 and had to get an update at 7:45 if it was still coming because we were due back at the boat at 8:30. The food finally came out after an hour and she forgot the mushrooms I ordered, so I asked for it to be taken off the bill. There was not a lot of people there, as this is a smaller place and this is my first lower review of a restaurant in all of my travels. I would be mindful with the waitstaff to how long is reasonable to bring food out and we ordered our steaks medium and they were definitely rare and had to send them back. We did notice 2-3 other people send their steaks back as well, since we were there so long and had time to witness it. I believe this happens due to not actually communicating with the cook in some instance, because it was actually really good when it came back out like we originally had asked. I was surprised I wasn't offered much consolation or any monetary compensation based on all of these things. We ate at many other places during our stay had nowhere near the issues we had here. Nothing to be sorry about on my end here, just not good service unfortunately.

We had the pleasure of dining at Dave and Jerry's Island Steakhouse on St. John Island, US Virgin Islands, and I must say, the ambiance of this establishment was absolutely amazing. The restaurant's setting, with its welcoming atmosphere, created the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. The highlight of the evening, of course, was the outstanding meal. My wife’s Coconut Mahi and my pork loin was cooked to perfection, and every bite was a delight. The flavors were exquisite, and the presentation was top-notch. It's evident that the culinary team takes great pride in their craft, and it truly showed in the dishes we enjoyed. We But what truly set this dining experience apart was our exceptional server, Nick. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that we had an epicurean experience to remember. His recommendations and wine pairings were spot on, enhancing the overall meal. We asked the executive chef to provide us with a desert of her choice and what came out was truly stunning. Hand churned, kettle, corn, ice cream with a sugar cookie biscuit. WOW! In summary, Dave and Jerry's Island Steakhouse exceeded our expectations in every way. The ambiance, the outstanding meal, and the impeccable service provided by Nick all contribute to a well-deserved 5-star rating. If you're on St. John Island, this steakhouse is a must-visit for a truly remarkable dining experience.

Food was very good. Waitress was outstanding. Unfortunately, the prices were ridiculous for what we ordered. We had similar dinner at a local place to this for less than half the price of this place and enjoyed it as much if not more. If the prices were similar, we would highly recommend a night here. Ask what the "MP" is before ordering....

Service was great. Waitresses very friendly and informative. The experience was nice. We all ordered filet. The texture was little tough and chewy for an aged filet for the price. If the filet was as tender as we expected for aged beef it would have made a perfect meal.

Their specialty is steak, and their aged beef is very, very good. We split the ribeye, and had asparagus with almonds and garlic mashed potatoes as sides. All were excellent. The wine list is a disappointment - both a glass of the least expensive and the most expensive were poor. There should be some better choices to pair with the great beef. A martini was excellent.

Celebrated hubby's 60th birthday here and we were greeted with a glass of champagne and happy birthday wishes for my husband. Our waitress was friendly, efficient and very knowledgeable about menu items. The food was incredible, I had the wagyu New York strip and hubby had the filet. My steak really was like butter! We finished with the flourless chocolate torte which we shared, it was delicious and very rich. I'd fly to the Virgin Islands just to eat dinner here if I could afford it! As it is, I look forward to our annual trip to St John just to have dinner here. Not to be missed!
