The dining room and bar are gorgeous, the service was impeccable, the food and drinks tasty and interesting. It is so refreshing the find a new restaurant in DC that is truly offering a creative menu. Bravo, Dauphine.
Really nice vibe in the restaurant. Wine list is fantastic and balanced with wines for all budgets. The oysters were delicious and entree menu was interesting and unique. I’ll be back for happy hour this week to checkout the bar scene.
Nice restaurant and food was good!! Very loud and the waiter was to be desired!
Outstanding service and delicious food! Will definitely come back
Our service was a little hap hazard. We had a long delay ordering our food once we finished our appetizers. The food was excellent.
Andrea was a great waitress. She really made our first experience there a worthwhile place to come back.
My favorite part which I haven’t seen at a lot of places is the ability to taste some wines by the glasses before committing. I’ve only seen that with bottle orders.
Loved the food and the atmosphere. Intimate but also lively. Really enjoyed my experience here and would definitely go back!
This place is amazing! The food was beyond delicious and the service was phenomenal!
It’s not the servers’ fault, but when they have too many tables, they can’t provide adequate service. Consider reducing the number of tables until you can hire enough servers. I understand it’s hard to find people these days. Food was good though.
Great experience but felt a bit rushed by the server (standard at restaurants in the US, sadly)
The oyster appetizer was excellent. Plump, Maryland oysters. Our server, Dale, was well informed and offered great suggestions. I ordered the skate. I was surprised that it was fried (I should have known, it's the South). After I got over the initial shock of not receiving a pan seared or broiled fish, I enjoyed it. I'll be back.
The best part of Dauphine's was the excellent service. The cocktails were divine. This Louisianian found the food delicious but far from authentic. The standout for us was the Grand Plateaux, the scrumptuous tower of raw seafood. None of us found anything on the entree menu very appealing, so we ordered some small plates, the best of which was the Mirliton & Pig Ear Salad. The Rabbit, Oyster, & Okra Gumbo, served over potato salad instead of the traditional rice, was the lone disappointment, bland and uninspired. As the evening went on, the large restaurant got more and more noisy, to the point where it was too noisy to talk. If we go back, we'll eat early, request an outdoor table, and limit ourselves to cocktails and the seafood tower.
Excellent food and service! We enjoyed a birthday celebration.
The decor is really nice and definitely has a New Orleans feel to it with plenty of wrought iron and fleur de lis. The wait staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. And the food was amazing. I’ve lived in NOLA and Dauphine’s can hold it’s own with the best of NOLA.
Wonderful and intriguing menu with Nola flare! After the mains, Sicilian steak!! save room for dessert, best Beignets on the east coast! Special mention to the rice pudding with chocolate crémeux!!!
Everything was great! Drink service was a little slow which is the only reason why I didn’t give it five stars.
A great meal and evening. Service was great, food was fantastic. All around a fantastic evening. One of the better meals out i've had in a long time.
We had an amazing time! Definitely get the bread service - the brioche and biscuits were next level. We loved the beignets as well!
U started coming because of a strong recommendation and have been here 2x now. The first time I assumed that my girlfriend and I must have come on a day when they were short staffed or something because of the slow service but the waiter was pleasant overall. This most recent time the service was extremely slow again but based on where we were seated we could clearly see the waiter and realized we were being ignored. Our waiter continued to wait on diners that had arrived after my party. I requested the manager at this point and was waited on attentively by the manager from that point forward. Really unfortunate because the food and drinks are delicious and it was a celebratory occasion. But, I do not see myself returning.
The atmosphere was great, food was amazing! I will definitely be returning.
Beautifully designed new restaurant that is clearly very popular. Interesting take on New Orleans style food, call it NO Fusion. Nice sazerac to start the night. Definitely recommend paying for the bread service. Enjoyed their take on gumbo. My wife had the blackened blue fish creole which was very nice. I had the Paneed Skate wing which was a very large portion and good. A bit dry; could have used more beurre blanc sauce. Nice take on baked Alaska.
Absolutely incredible food and amazing service!
Our server was great. A little overpriced.
The food and atmosphere was excellent. Alex is awesome and was very accommodating to two people who had food allergies in our group. We will be back.
Excessive long wait to be seated caused my wife to miss Concert that we bought tickets for that same evening. Appetizers were delicious, even though we didn’t order oysters (I think order bled though to other side of form) but we were so hungry, we opted to go ahead and eat it.
Upscale Louisiana vibes. I love the decor and ambiance. The gumbo was amazing. Oysters were ok. Drinks were decent.
Reserved this spot for my boss per recommendation from colleague in DC area. Heard that Neil Bodenheimer consulted on this project and I'm familiar with his spots in NOLA (did a pop-up there with my previous company), so I knew if he had a hand in this, it had to be great.
The reviews from the party were all good :)
Great food and ambiance. Excellent service!
This menu is just so-so for this New Orleanian. But if you've only experienced the NO food scene as a tourist or have forgotten what's marketed as "Cajun / Creole" fare, you'll probably enjoy this place.
Great food; outstanding service.
Excellent New Orleans-themed restaurant. Elegant attention to detail, from the dishes, utensils, cocktails and menu. I wish their hot dishes were "hot" and not not warm. Besides that, GREAT restaurant!
The oysters dauphine and the rabbit, oyster and okra was amazing! Chef’s kiss!
Food was terrific all around especially the charcuterie. What was striking, was seeing flavors together that worked so well that myself and dining companion had not seen before in combination. Such as crab, sweetbreads, and headcheese or Tabasco and chocolate. Additionally, for all of what we ordered - and we ordered more then our fair share - every dish was lighter in richness then expected leaving lots room for great flavors. Service was good too. I would encourage everyone to dine there at least once and we will be returning ourselves. Hehe.
Bread Plate, BBQ shrimp and Duck Jambalaya FTW 10/10
Our server, Anne Marie, was excellent! We really enjoyed her service!
Our table was not ready when we arrived so we had to wait about 20 minutes so that was not good.
Waited 1 hour to be seated..with a reservation..and then waited three hours for our entrees to be served. Entrees were cold and also not the entrees we ordered. So disappointed.
We were excited to celebrate a birthday at Dauphines. We read very good reviews of the restaurant but that was not our experience. The overall space is nice. We were sort of squished into a small table near the meat slicing machine. My husband was excited to order the duck jambalaya but a few minutes after ordering it we were told it was sold out. That seemed odd since our reservation was soon after the restaurant opened. Anyway, it was disappointing. The best thing we had was the charcuterie platter which was very good. We tried a few of the specialty cocktails. The Hurricane was good. The Gin Fizz had no taste at all. The gumbo was ok. The bread service was not good and seemed unfresh--especially the biscuits. My husband ordered the mackerel which was just ok and I had the blackened bluefish which was bad. Our server realized that we were unhappy and brought a dessert on-the-house. Baked Alaska. Also, not great. All in all we paid over $400.00 for a pretty crummy meal. I truly don't understand the rave reviews this restaurant received.
Everything was great!
Date night with my wife. Wonderful experience.
A wonderful ambiance, terrific food, superb Sazeracs.
