Very nice place. Small and comfortable, we will be back!
Food is usually always good and staff is friendly
This was our first time in Colorado and Dat's Italian did not disappoint! Great ambience and service. Definitely recommend their homemade cannolis.
Very attentive server. Excellent entrees and wine.
I'd been here a few times and had much better service. It wasn't the service, more that the waiter kept hovering and didn't allow me space to eat. After being here a few times I can honest!y say that although the food is great the ambience is horrible and the carpets are absolutely filthy with critters. Get some new floors, raise the entrees a few bucks and attract a more upscale crowd who don't shout or gawk when they eat.
Love the fried Monzerella. This is a great place to get homemade Italian food.
I really liked the ambiance and the food was Okay (salad was too salty and the veal could have been more tender and not enough tomato sauce but they gave us more upon request) especially for the value! I’d give them another chance. I liked that the location was in Old Colorado city!
First time there and will be back
The service was excellent. Very friendly staff. My meal was tasteless. My meal was a pasta that had pesto in it and I couldn't even taste the basil. There was no flavor. I tried to add salt and pepper but it didn't help. The pasta was swimming in green liquid. I was not happy with my meal. For the price I should have received a salad of some sort instead of just a roll.
My wife is gluten free. She ordered gluten free pasta for her meal. The food was brought to the table, we started eating and she started wondering if the noodle were gluten free. Unfortunately the noodles were not gluten free. My wife is sensitive but not celiac. The waiter realized his mistake after being questioned and immediately scooped up the bowl and reordered her meal. He apologized multiple times and as a gesture of good will gave her a free cannoli - gluten free.
Fortunately my wife did not become ill, but if you are gluten sensitive make sure you question if your meal is gluten free to be safe!
I have heard great things about Dat's Italian and was excited to try it. Unfortunately, the food was not incredibly flavorful. We got 3 dishes and 2 appetizers and none of them were overly impressive. They were just bland. The worst part of all was that it took over an hour and a half to get our main course after ordering. We actually had to go put more money in our meter. Unfortunate experience...
COVID-19 has affected nearly everyone and everything, including Dat's Italian. The meal on this particular evening was a little off. The drinks, appetizer, and meal came out in an appropriate amount of time, and our waiter Noel, was charming and attentive, but the meals needed some help. The Chicken Sorrentino needed more salt and the eggplant needed more seasoning, and the order of Shrimp Pesto Trenette, came out as an order of Chicken Pesto Trenette. We decided the chicken was fine and kept the dish, but that too was lacking a little salt to bring the flavors together. I need to say here that in the previous time we've enjoyed Dat's Italian, there were no mistakes on meals, and every restaurant and wait person makes mistakes from time to time, but the lack of seasoning between the meals was quickly taken care of my Noel, who brought us some salt to our table because the regular salt and pepper shaker had been removed from the table as a precaution due to COVID-19. All in all, I feel it's important to say to please have patience with everyone at this time. Dat's Italian is a fabulous restaurant that's family owned and operated and they all do a wonderful job. For your average, American-Italian meal, this restaurant primarily caters to tourist visiting Old Colorado City. If you are looking for authentic, Italian cuisine, there are other options. However, the service was professional and friendly enough.
The food was just okay - the service lousy, only two other couples in the place but the waiter seemed exhausted.
Our server had us on ignore most of the time. Worst service I have had in a very long time. Food was adequate. Not my first time at Dat's Italian, but probably my last.
We always enjoy it. It’s a great family owned and operated restaurant. It’s a nice change from the national chains.
The made a quick and Easy reservation on Open table. The experience and food was amazing! Extremely happy with our delicious food and wonderful wait staff. Will be coming back soon!
Food was okay. Service was horrible. They were obviously short-staffed, which is fine. But the owners attitude was horrible
Nice dinner with my wife while visiting Manitou Springs. I had the chicken pasta and my wife had the chicken parmesan and both were very good. The waiter was a nice young man who to good care of us.
Entres were excellent as well as the dessert. staff was every friendly. the salads needed a little more flavor in the dressing as they were bland. Unfortunately a a child about 10 talked nonstop near us.
The restaurant was recommended to us and did not disappoint
They were initially very busy with a large party that didn’t have reservations
We sat on the patio with the lovely weather and music on speakers
We so enjoyed talking to, I believe the wife, as she’s head chef she was wonderful
Best Lasagna I’ve ever had highly recommend
The spaghetti and meatballs also outstanding
Very large portions we couldn’t finish but had to order a cannelloni to go. So glad we did
True old world charm, wonderful food! Great for any occasion. Colorado Srings staple
Food was great and the service was good. Will definitely go back
Great authentic Italian with great Italian wines
The owners daughter waited on us. Birthday event for our daughter. Slow scattered service, had to remind her three time it was a birthday event.
Won't go back!
Best Italian restaurant in Colorado Springs. Save room for dessert
Always a good meal! The service can be slow at times but they always take care of you ... just have to be patient. This is the second time we’ve been and will return again.
We arrived for our reservation at 8:30pm not knowing the restaurant closed at 9pm. We waiting for at least 10 min before anyone stopped by the table to take a drink order. After an hour wait for the food out waiter let us know that he forgot to turn in our food order. When the food finally arrived it was ok at best. We also did not receive our salad but it still showed up on the check (they removed it when we asked). The waiter gave us a drink on the house which was appreciated but I would definitely not go back for the food - other than the garlic bread which was amazing.
The food was delicious, well presented and well prepared! We will return!!
Hands down, the best Italian in town! Our favorite place to celebrate family events.
We love Dat's Italian...a small family owned and operated local business. As always, the food was delicious.....from the bread appetizer, to our baked spaghetti pie with alfredo sauce and the lasagna, to the tiramisu and the lemon cake! We also love the Italian Margarita drink!
Dat's Italian was pretty good. Our family gave it a try one night while we were in town on vacation. Everyone seemed to like what they ordered. Our youngest had the kid's spaghetti & meatball, our daughters were able to split an order of alfredo with with chicken, my wife had some sort of pasta with shrimp, & I had the veal parmesan. It was all good & satisfying.
We absolutely loved our food. The service was great. If you are in town or in Colorado Springs, this is worth going to.
Great food! I can't say enough good things about the food!!
Best Italian food and best service!! 10/10 would recommend 🙌🏻
Great food. Service was Outstanding!
I had the very tender & tasty Veal Parmigiana and would highly recommend it. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the Shrimp Alfredo. Music was at comfortable level and fit an Italian atmosphere very well. The staff was very attentive.
I can't recommend this restaurant for several reasons. First, we had to wait 55 minutes for 2 simple chicken pasta dishes to be served when there were only 2 other tables of customers. Second, the Caesar salad we ate while waiting was made with "Italian leaf" which was just field greens instead of romaine lettuce which was strange. Third, no bread is served unless you pay $4.50 for a bread plate or $7.50 for garlic bread. Fourth, the chicken alfredo was made with unusual spaghetti-like noodles and was dry but more sauce would cost $2.00. Fifth, a mouthful of the alfredo had a metal staple in it. The server did apologize for that.
All in all. this was not an authentic or enjoyable Italian dining experience. We will not return.
