Great food, excellent quality, service polite and attentive. The owner keeps an eye on the operations and it shows.
We sat in the outside patio and it was lovely.
good food and ambiance! The place still lives up to the same high standards that we are used to.
Always wonderful and always delicious! Fantastic staff and caring owner.
Outstanding food, staff, and ambiance! Felt special on a special day of celebration!
We loved the food! Appreciate being able to try the wine, also awesome that servers took the time to check in and point out all the different delicious items in the vegetarian sampler! Had a lovely outside patio (raining so we couldn't sit out there but inside was nice as well!)
The taste of the food did not meet our expectations. Although the ambience and location was good, the food was just ok, not great.
There are so many Ethiopian places in the DMV, and this is very much among the best. And a Michelin star too! Delicious food, generous portions (including refills of injera throughout the meal), attentive service, and an all around great experience. Hope to be back for the next special occasion!
The meals, service. and atmosphere were FABS!!! A must on any food lover’s list!!!
Always great service and food. They held aside gluten free injera for one of our party which was much appreciated!
Delicious food in a lovely setting.
Excellent as always.
Delicious food, and great service. We ate outside and had a blast!
First Ethiopian food experience and it was great! The food and service were amazing. Will definitely be adding this to our DC repertoire and would highly recommend!
Very friendly staff. Food was outstanding.
Delicious!! I got the shrimp tibs and my boyfriend got the lamb tibs! Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu. Also the lemon sorbet is a must try if you get dessert.
The food and service were both outstanding! Cannot wait to go back!
This was our first time dinning at Das Ethiopian. Upon arriving we were greeted with smiles and ushered into a tastefully decorated dining room. Beautiful jazz music filled the space as we enjoyed mimosas and delicious Ethiopian coffee. We are trying to move away from meats; so it was the vegetarian dishes that thoroughly delighted. If you are familiar with this type cuisine you are aware of injera (Ethiopian bread) that is used to eat the meal with your fingers. But, if needed utensils are supplied. Sambusa was our appetizer that was baked in a very thin crust. We found the house and tomato salad with fresh vegetables combined to accentuate our taste buds. For entrée’s we chose the gomen (collard greens) and the eggplant dish. Suffice it to say, each dish was a delicious balance of flavors that made this experience one of the best we’ve had in the District. We were not hurried but relished the opportunity to enjoy conversation and the view of bustling Georgetown as we waited in anticipation of the next amazing dish.
Excellent adventure. Our waitress suggested several combination. Platters that did not disappoint. If you are gluten-free, call ahead and they will make you gluten-free bread.
The meat combo was great for two. We added eggplant which was excellent! The lager made from teff was light and went great with the heat. Well done!
Went here for Date Night, and we’ve only had Ethiopian cuisine a couple times before. The injera wasn’t sour like we’ve tasted at other places, and the sambusas were not oily. I must say that the food was delicious, and I’m looking forward to us returning very soon!
This place is amazing, authentic and the staff was great
Delicious food. Ownet circulating the room checking on everyone. Wonderful experience.
Incredible meal and overall experience. We'll definitely come again!
Very attentive & wonderful service. Delicious Ethiopian cuisine.
Been here before. Still love it!
Impeccable service. The staff were very warm and welcoming. The ambiance was superb and the food was even more excellent. Please do yourself a favor and dine there.
Classy Ethiopia restaurant. I would visit again.
Amazing food. Wonderful service. Recommend the Vegetarian Entree Platter
food was delightful. We sampled just about everything. My personal favorite was the amazing cabbage and carrot in ginger, garlic sauce. My son especially loved the chicken and my husband loved the bean based dishes. Of course, it is always great fun to eat with you hands, using the delicious bread.
What a gem! Ate outside, staff was wonderful, food excellent. Our server clearly enjoyed explaining the parts of our veggie platter. Can't wait to go back.
The injera was beautiful. I enjoyed the fish and collard greens. Great taste. The staff were attentive. Got my bottomless water glass filled without sometimes realizing it. The host was kind and unobtrusive but clearly present. A great place…
Excellent food and service.
Food was great, the service was fantastic, and the Tej was plentiful. We will be back here again and again.
Fabulous food. Some of the best Shiro I’ve had. Service was great, accommodating and friendly. Definitely will go back to this place when I’m in DC again. Highly recommend
We celebrated two wedding anniversaries here and it was perfect. The staff was so welcoming and the food was amazing. The framed Ethiopian photographs with the blank/ white/ navy decor was so beautiful. Everyone, staff and costumers alike, we’re clearly happy to be there. This restaurants name, Das Ethiopian, fits it perfectly. A true gathering place!
I loved it! Great food and a great atmosphere. The staff was really nice as well.
Very good food real nice enjera bread and taste of the combo vegetarian entree sampler
The restaurant is lovely, the service friendly, and the food delicious!
