   A delightful opportunity to go with another couple, have a very tasty, and well prepared meal. The service was quite good, both professional and personable. The options on the menu gave us a chance to try a. Number of different dishes, with a broad array of spices. Truly, an excellent restaurant.

   DAS has a very nice ambiance, good food, and service. I have been there twice now and both times a really good time. The only note is that when it gets busy, having only 2 bathrooms leads to a long wait time.

   First time trying Ethiopian food and this was so delicious. We ordered the vegetarian sambusas and I never knew lentils could be so yummy. We also ordered the vegetarian sampler and beef zilzil tibs. The service was also great - they were very kind and quick to serve us our food&drinks. Would definitely go back again

    Nice selection of traditional Ethiopian dishes with a few specials. Mushroom appetizer and lamb special was outstanding. Staff was extremely friendly and restaurant was well located for easy access to Georgetown.

    The food was ok not the best Ethiopian food I have had More importantly I told them I was gluten free - they brought me gluten free bread for dripping but laid out the food on the plate on regular bread (with gluten) - when I asked they kind of shrugged their shoulders and then came back and LIED and said it was the gluten free bread - the two look very different and so it was easy to call out a lie Thankfully I am intolerant - so spent the next day with aching joints and in the bathroom - but am not celiac so avoided the hospital DO NOT go if you have any kind of food allergy

    We had never eaten at an Ethiopian restaurant before, so the whole experience was new. Our sever was very helpful and personable. Of our party of four, three very much enjoyed the food and the entire experience. The other member of our party ordered the braised beef short ribs and was very disappointed (they were fatty and stringy). I would definitely come back if in DC again. Definitely vegetarian/vegan friendly. Just friendly in general, too.

    The is my first time trying Ethiopian Food. It was great experience. Food was fantastic, very tasty and service was outstanding. Highly recommend this place. We had shrimp TIBS and DAS chicken , beef combination Sampler. It was excellent.

    First time doing Ethiopian, the server was very helpful. The meal was amazing! Didn’t know exactly what to expect but my experience exceeded many prior dinners. I was here for vacation but plan to find an Ethiopian place back home. Dessert was European influenced and very good.

    Das Ethiopian is a charming place. The dinners, all, seem to enjoy themselves more than seems to be the case at most resturants. That may be due, in part, to the family style sharing. Cautions. 1. Make sure that your guests really like Ethiopian food as IMO, it is a rather acquired taste. For example, some people just don't take to the cold, soggy bread. 2. No access to the bathroom for those who rely on wheelchairs.

    DAS never fails to deliver. We had a party of 9 which included 7 adults and 2 toddlers. The food was served in a timely manner and the staff was quick to manage any possible need for the young children--both of whom LOVED the food.

    Exceptional Ethiopian food -- food for many palates, vegetarian to omnivore -- in a classy and appealing environment. Courteous, attentive wait staff. Fresh and authentic food -- truthfully, better than many meals I've eaten in Addis Ababa. My favorite Georgetown (DC) restaurant.

    Our first time having Ethiopian and at such a lovely place. Although they couldn't find our reservation, they graciously seated us at a lovely window side table. We ordered several appetizers and entrees, along with some wine. Our server accommodated us with gluten-free bread and explained everything we were served. Lovely family meal.

    Food is very good though we would have liked spicier—condiments on the table would keep it from tasting blandified for Americans. Excellent & friendly service. Ambience: more fabrics & Ethiopian artifacts would be great. It is not decorated to reflect the culture except for a few b/w photos on the wall.

    The restaurant is pretty and the serving staff was very nice and attentive. The food is expensive for Ethiopian food compared to most other Ethiopian places in Washington, DC. Unfortunately the chicken legs in both of our dishes were hard, dry and overall not eatable. We could not finish them because they were so bad (which I have never experienced in my life, including in Ethiopia), complained to the (very nice) server and got our beers for free as a compensation. We were apparently not the only ones complaining about the chicken that night.
