Das Ethiopian - Georgetown
Excellent Ethiopian food and a great variety of it, as well. Quite vegetarian-friendly.
Every single aspect of our evening was perfect.
It was a wonderful dinner. Everything was delicious. Service was excellent. Attentive and unrushed. Made birthday celebration extra fun.
Wonderful food so many things to try. Highly recommended.
Simply sumptuous! A must sample restaurant for any visit to DC.
The place is gorgeous and the food beyond amazing! Owner was charming and sweet - will definitely return!
Very delicious food. Good service. Excellent price-value ratio. You should try it. Enjoy!
Great food, lovely service, nice choices for wine--my party had a great time!
The food was so good! Service was friendly and very helpful.
My first time having Ethiopian cuisine and I liked it very much! Hard to not get full on the rolls though.
Absolutely great eating experience. We split the chicken and beef sampler and the vegetarian sampler because we wanted to try a little bit of everything. All of the food was really good, especially liked the beef dishes in the platter. I've eaten some Ethiopian street food before, but this was first time at a sit down restaurant. Be comfortable eating with your hands using the Ethiopian bread, which they'll continue to bring out fresh as you need it.
Delicious! Food was very good and it is fun to eat family style. Location right in Georgetown was also enjoyable.
Lovely service and decor. Have been several times in the last year or two. The quality of the meat in the tibs was lacking, tried the beef last visit and the lamb most recently. Would have been 5* with higher quality meats.
Recommend getting the sampler platters. We ordered a vegetarian platter, a chicken and beef platter and the Shrimp Tib. Shrimp was amazing!!
I love the patio and even though it was raining and we had to sit inside we had a great evening.
Great service and amazing food!!!
Wish they had a few options for typical Ethiopian desserts.
Fantastic experience. The food is amazing and the servers are super friendly. Only negative point would be that the room gets loud when it gets crowded
Delicious food! Friendly staff, great location! Will go back!
Das was wonderful in every way. The staff are marvelous. Thoughtful. Passionate about their food. Attentive without hovering. The injera was very nice. We had the vegetarian sampler, beef and chicken sampler and the lamb tips. The lamb was nothing all that special (but would be good for less adventurous eaters or those who don’t like spice). The vegetables were my favorite. Just wonderful. My guess is that if you want something really authentic, this will not be as spicy or sour as you’d expect. But I was introducing my daughter and her boyfriend to the cuisine and so this was perfect. The room itself is lovely. The linens crisp and bright. Classy without being formal or stuffy. A lovely place to bring friends or family. Highly recommend!
Delicious food and friendly service. We were here visiting from out of state and were not disappointed. Traditional recipes in a modern bright clean and quiet location.
We had an incredible meal. First time to try Ethiopian and now we’re hooked! Service staff were very helpful and patient. Best meal we had in DC during our 4 day stay. Hope to return again.
As lovely as ever. Quiet and comfortable main dining room and very nice small patio. Very gracious and warm service, without fail. Vegetarian sampler is an excellent choice and the new lamb dish was very tasty. Always a pleasure to eat here - never had a bad night yet.
Food was exactly as good as we had expected. When we told the waitress we would be splitting two appetizers, she cut them in half and arranged them beautifully on a platter.
Our first experience with Ethiopian food couldn’t have been better. Every staff member was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our waitress guided us through the menu selections with excellent suggestions. Four of us shared 2 appetizers and 3 main dishes. Everything was delicious!
Outstanding food. The service is excellent in this attractive restaurant.
Fantastic food and more so an excellent honey wine to go with it! Service is stellar and the ambiance perfect! I’ve oft times passed this restaurant but I’m glad I stopped in today! You can’t go wrong! A first for me was flax seed or telba wat .... just delicious and highly recommended! Thank you!!!
Delicious food, great for sharing. Sat outside on a nice, sunny day. Great experience.
Excellent experience. I’ve been coming here since the 1990s—always superior service and good. Thank you.
First time in ethiopian restaurant and I was blown away!! The food was delicious! The portions were big, so a lot of food to take home, and our server was super sweet.
We had sambusa as a starter.
Red lentil and house salad served with injera as main dish.
Lemon sorbet in lemon shell for desert.
10/10!! I couldn’t be happier!
Exceptional. Our first time eating Ethiopian and Das was a great introduction. The food, service and setting were all exceptional. We’ll be back whenever we return to Washington.
This place is was wonderful. The service was impeccable and super efficient. Most of all, the food was REALLY good (delicious) and there is a full bar so you could order anything from a bottle of wine to a cocktail. We had a party of 7 and our servers handled it with ease. I will definitely be back!
Service was great!
The food at this restaurant is delicious. The portions are quite large, and my only complaint is that there is a sharing charge. We were 8 people and ordered food for 6, which was plenty.
Service was great and food was delicious! I recommend the chicken infallay (not sure if that’s spelled correctly).
Very nice Mother's Day dinner. Fantastic food served Ethiopian style in Georgetown. Recommended.
Food excellent; staff very friendly and attentive.
Excellent food, perfect little outdoor terrace seating, a peaceful evening
It was good overall.
Food was very good but the wait from the time the order was placed until it was brought out was extremely long and unacceptable.
Food good service slow
