Dario's Brasserie Ratings and Reviews
Been to Dario's many times so the poor service was surprising. The server was very attentive initially but non existent towards the end even though there were plenty empty tables. We actually had to cancel our beer refill because we finished our meal before we got it. The terrine du jour was a duck aspic and was a disappointment. The entrees we had were good but not exceptional. The recommended beer pairings were good.
I visited Dario's with my family to celebrate completing my bachelor's degree. The food was, as usual, an amazing gastronomic delight. My steak and fries were perfection made edible, and the cardamom creme brulee with mint chantilly cream was divine. The Sazerac cocktail I drank was very good, though I think the rye was a little too raw for the proportions so it came off a little heavy.
However, the bloody mary was not so good. The tomato juice base semeed weak and thin, like strained fluid from a can of tomatoes. The pepper and whatnot (celery salt, too, maybe?) were poorly mixed and settled at the bottom of the glass before it arrived at the table. There was a smoky, tobacco taste that seemed awfully out of place as well.
The bloody mary was a truly minor blemish, though, and that misstep was outshone by the absolutely stellar service and the magical food. The restaurant might be considered somewhat "cozy" if one is used to the highway-width aisles of chain dives, but the warmth adds a certain je ne sais quoi to the experience. It empties out quickly after 9:30PM or so.
The food is so good - SO GOOD! Aside from having the best cheeseburger and fries in Omaha, their supporting entrees are just the best. The short ribs and the chicken breast are two of our favorites on the menu. There is also a salad with duck and an egg...you just can't eat at Darios without this salad - it's perfect. We bring our toddlers and they have high chairs, but fyi moms - no changing tables. The waitress did bring our kids a grilled ham and cheese sandwich - it's probably the best grilled ham and cheese sandwich I have even ever had. I hope my kids appreciated it as much as I did.
We have frequented Dario's before (and have loved it every time) and that is why I chose it for my 50th birthday dinner with my family. The restaurant was full and lively, but not crazy and loud. Our table was waiting for us-we had a great bottle of wine, a delicious gouda & beet puree cheese appetizer, the special chilled soup (roasted yellow pepper & peach), Steak & frites, Mortadella crepe, mussels (Moules Bleu cheese), chicken (Coq a la Bierre) and the Short Ribs. Everything was excellent! For dessert, we ordered the Creme Broulee, the Ice Cream du Jour (Dulce de Leche) and the Chocolate silk cake (with a birthday candle-mentioned it when ordered dessert & couldn't decide which 2 to order). Everything was fabulous!!
Dario's was admittedly quite a pleasant surprise! Was looking for a new place to try for dinner, and being a big French cuisine fan, I decided to try Dario's with a few friends. My expectations were blown away! The food was outstanding I couldn't think of a complaint if I tried to force myself. Our server was very attentive (but not annoying), had a pleasant personality, and was a big help when picking out a wine. It was a tad noisy, but it's a small place and it was a Friday night so it wasn't a huge issue for me. We loved it so much, we're going back tonight for a second time!
Had the Popeye mussels ...amazing! best food I had my weekend in Omaha. My only complaint with this pace is like many restaurants as a single I have no choice but to eat at the bar. Bartender Michaela gave great service witch made it better and being really attractive never hurts, but being the only one sitting at the bar seemed odd. I will go back
we ordered two mussel platters as well as a salad. Everything was fantastic and since we live such a long way away, we are trying to figure out how to create the same menu probably won't be able to but we'll try. The only thing that I would like to try to find different is a softer type of bread. Your food is excellent, your staff extremely competent. Thanks!
Our waitress made this experience awesome! The food was terrific and we enjoyed the ambiance. We went for Sunday brunch and all enjoyed different dishes. I don't remember the name of the french toast, but can say it was perfect. The croissants were delicious and I highly recommend the almond one.
it was clean and eclectic. the menu choices were Belguim inspired and delicious eggs Benedict was had tender flavorful Canadian bacon and a light lemony hollandaise sauce.
the other guests enjoyed the porc with the sweet cornbread, porc and lager gravy.
we ordered a bottle of proseco and a peach Belguim beer to make Bellinis-
will come back again next time in town
We have been to Dario's several times; brunch, dinner, New Year's Eve; sometimes just the two of us, sometimes with friends. We have always enjoyed the food; the mussels are delicious, the desserts are awesome, the menu changes occasionally, and there are specials. The waitresses are knowledgeable about the wine and beer list and they are always helpful w/ the menu.
We went to Dario's to celebrate my husband's graduation from pharmacy school. The ambiance was great, the waitstaff attentive and the food delicious. Like the most delicious food ever. It was upscale but NOT stuffy. Our waiter translated some of the French food for us and gave us great wine recommendations. The food was beautiful but also de lockout with great portions. Could not have been better. Thank you Dario's!
I took my date to Dario's as I have been here before based on a friend's recommendation, and the second time was excellent as well if not better. The waiter was extremely accommodating, thoroughly explaining the specials as well as any questions we had on the menu. But what was truly outstanding was how patient he was with our "slow order" since my date and I "hit it off". This makes it exceptionally good for a date night because of a darker ambiance, quiet dinning room which makes it quite intimate.
The food is solid. It is not the best, but it is likely some of the best to be found in the Omaha area. Personally I like the food here better than The Grey Plume, and the price is unbelievable for what you get. The food is French, and much of the menu is very rich/creamy/fatty items. If you are on dietary restrictions, this is not the place to go. If you are okay with rich foods, go for it.
I would also like to say that my date and I were not kicked out of the restaurant since we kept talking past their closing time (10 pm). I realize this is our fault, but we simply loss track of time and this make it exceptional customer service! Thank you Dario's for making it an unforgettable night.
My wife and I dine here about once a year when we visit Omaha. From the outside it's an unassuming little restaurant and it is, indeed, a relatively small place. But the food is superb and although the music is sometimes a tad on the loud side, it's a great place for conversation with friends.
We found this gem from a review in the Wall Street Journal. The wait staff were brisk, informed and
friendly. My salad was fresh and tasty. I shared an unusual cheese dish with my wife consisting of mini- grilled cheeses on bruschetta. It was different and good. Our short ribs were flavorful. Desert was house made mint gelato, natural green and delicious. Even the coffee was perfect. As a final note, Warren Buffett eats here, so it is for value eaters.
Been a Darios fan for quite a while. Recently arrived with a party of four, it took about 5 minutes to be seated, despite the place being nearly empty. After another 15 minutes, we got our water glasses filled. It appeared that the team meeting took precedent over customer service as the crew was all huddled in the back ignoring two full tables seated out front. Appetizers came out fairly quickly, food took an unusually long time to arrive table side. The staff was friendly, but very slow. The menu has not changed in a very long time, and there were no specials. We were there to celebrate a birthday. Despite announcing the fact we were celebrating a birthday, no special efforts were made to go above and beyond. Food was excellent, menu was the same as it's been for about two years, service was OK.
I found this restaurant on UrbanSpoon and was excited to take my partner for a high class meal. I wasn't able to find a single review under 3 stars and even then, the review did not mention poor food. We were immediately met with a smile and seated very quickly.
The service was impeccable. I wish I remembered the waitresses name, but she as well as other staff, kept constant attention to my enjoyment of the food.
The food was insanely decadent. I don't even remember what I ate, but all I know was that I loved every bite.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a high end experience as well as amazing food.
Hadn't been here in a while. The mussels remain truly delicious. My burger was the best I've had in a long time, but unfortunately the 'pommes frites' are no longer authentic but just regular American fries. A bit disappointing, but serving them with mayo is helpful.
Dario's was amazing. The food blew our expectations out of the water. We had drinks, apps, dinner, and dessert and from start to finish it was perfect! In fact this is our new favorite resturant in the whole country! Worth every single penny. Service was awesome. Our waitress wasn't just there to serve us food, but to foster a good time! Would absolutely recommend!
The food, once we got past the fact that we couldn't get the mussels we planned on, was great as usual. The service was very slow which was uncharacteristic. It took 10 minutes before we saw our server and had water brought to the table. It took another 10 minutes before the wine was opened and we could place the appetizer orders. We never got a chiller to keep the white wine cool. Basically, the restaurant nearly emptied out before we got any service from our server and could place our brunch orders.
We went to Darios for an early dinner before the symphony and were delighted with this little out of the way gem. It was quiet when we arrived just at opening time but filled up quickly.
The extensive variety of Belgian beers was delightful. Although not an experienced beer drinker, the waiter helped me select something that I enjoyed.
We had the french onion soup which was a perfect start and I would definitely recommend. Our entrees, the salmon and squash ragout, were flavorful and perfectly prepared. The pear crepes with raspberry ice-cream were a perfect finish.
We will definitely go back.
