Great service, not set up for large groups(8people) too loud to carry on conversation
Service was good. One hot meal wasn't, but the waitress nuked it without hesitation. Flavours were excellent. We go back nearly every month because it is good quality all round, and a convenient location.
Table of six and all of us enjoyed our meals. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing! Great service too!
I booked the reservation months ago
Well in advance
Called to confirm 2 weeks ago all good
Confirmed by email day before all good
Arrived, no table ready
Then we were told we were being put the downstairs
Ok .... then NO that wasn’t happening now anymore either
In the end We ended up being 2 broken tables of 4 ? with a “wall” in the middle of our group of 8
So we couldn’t even visit at all
We drove over an hour away for a special occasion dinner and evening out, only to be split up and being separated by a wall
Took a few of our agents out for a get together after a day of training & our server Alex was phenomenal. The food was great and we got to introduce a few of them to Blarney Chips ( and obviously ended up having to order more! 😂)
Nous aimons l'endroit et l'ambiance mais il faisait froid en bas.
Bon accueil et service, nourriture un peu grasse.
While the food and service were excellent i didnt understand why we were put in the basement for our reservation. The ambiance was terrible.
Came in with a 14 month old, had first public meltdown, waiter had no problem, and brought a plate of something VERY QUICKLY (at no charge mind you) to help calm child. (We were very hungry apparently). on top of this, he helped us save some money with our AAA card, which he got back as a tip! I would recommend this place to ANYONE! Great food, service and charming place to eat.
We made a reservation A week in advance. The table we were offered was right in front of the hostess and the front door with no privacy. We were offered another table only because the people given that table decided to sit a the bar. This was because this table was jammed together with 2 other diners. The purpose of making a reservation is to ensure that we have a guaranteed and reasonable place to sit and enjoy our meal. Neither of these options were enjoyable and I’m not sure why the restaurant would offer either of these for a reservation.
Great meal with my daughter before an NAC show. Loved the food and service was friendly and efficient despite the pre-holiday rush!
We enjoy dining at D'Arcy McGees - not the first time we have eaten here. Really like that we can make reservations - and have never had any issues when we arrive at the restaurant! Food is very good, and servers are pleasant. Will be back.
Great place to greet, meet and eat!
Joined family for dinner before going to the NAC for a Christmas concert. What a great idea I had!! Seated immediately, served promptly, with lots of time for an easy dinner before the show. Keeping this place on tap for our next concert night out!
We had a very enjoyable dinner time before we went to our concert at the NAC. The service was great and the food was enjoyable. Would definitely dine there again.
The food was pretty good. I liked the Shepard's Pie. The others in the group thought the food was OK. Service was good, and friendly. The restaurant itself can use a reno/update. Perhaps it passes because it gives that "old pub feel", but, probably, it is just a bit worn out. The location is great if you are going to the National Arts Centre (about a 3 minute walk). Will give it another try.
Service great. Guinness beef in Yorkshire Pudding bowl was delicious. Anxious to return.
D’Arcy McGees is my place to go before and after NAC concerts. The staff already knows what we eat and drink so no ordering is necessary.
Like the on-line booking though. Helps a lot in not being concern if there is a table for me.
We usually go there prior to performances at the National Arts Centre. Its very convenient, but the place is starting to get tired.
Food was really good and a beer for $4 is most valuable!
Our meal was excellent but for a Sunday at 5:30pm I was surprised to have our waiter tell us they were out of steak, maple glazed salmon, and chicken pot pie! So we went with beef pies and pasta. The service was excellent as it was extremely busy serving the dinner crowd before the 7:30pm show at the Art Centre.
Very busy. Very loud. Food was great, hot, tasty and plentiful
My party took advantage of a couple of coupons, dividing them between our bills. The waiter informed us that his manager had approved an exception for us to use the coupons, and let us know there was an intended limit of one per table--not one per bill, as we'd assumed. Seeing as the coupons guided what we chose to order, this was a frustrating way to end our experience the other night--haggling over semantics.
We reserved for 6 because we thought it would be crowded for the NAC show( and it was). We got stuck at 3 tiny 2 person table rather than the 3 bigger tables for 6. 2 of these tables were empty for at least 30 minutes. It was not a comfortable spot to talk or have a drink. Food was OK. SERVICE was OK. Would not go back. There are manY others close to the NAC .
Food was great. Brew choices covered many tastes.
Eating at the Russell building with the Stanley Cup background made it even more special. Would go back tomorrow if I lived less than 400 miles away.
My food took forever and it was lukewarm at best. No time to send it back as we were going to NAC show.
Great service, very noisy and the chicken pot pie was very dry. I have eaten here many times and always been satisfied with the food but the chicken pot pie was not great.
We enjoyed the food and drink. Only down side was that we were beside the ladies washroom.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Wonderful place for lunch before attending the theatre.
We were there on a show night and it was busy but we had a reservation. We were seated promptly and made our order quickly knowing we had to get to our show. It took 45 minutes from order time to get our food (a sandwich and the special). We had to rush through our meals to make our show. No warning was given before hand that there may be a long wait for our meal.
Service excellent, malgré un achalandage élevé! La nourriture était savoureuse et respectait le thème du pub irlandais.
Unusually quiet but enjoyable. Great service and super food and drink!
Either turn the music down or turn your customers down. Too noisy.
Samantha was our server she was excellent
Great atmosphere and location
We were seated downstairs and seemed to be enveloped by the smoke from the kitchen about halfway through our meal! Felt like we were going to smell like a BBQ!
Finding the ladies room was near impossible!
Settling the bill was a bit of a challenge because we wanted to pay three ways instead of each of us paying our own - we were a party of four.
A refreshingly different menu, friendly service and great location.
Unfortunately the service was so terrible it ruined our entire experience. Food came out cold, as if it had been sitting waiting to be served. We had to track down our server in order to pay.
I love all the food here! And the staff are always top notch! Friendly and very efficient
Our table wasn't great by the ladies washroom, but it was still enjoyable.
Changes on the menu were a disappointment for me & my friend. The Power Bowl is served with a different rice now. Taste is lacking as per my friend. I had the Mini Yorkies- not as tasty as usual...no creamed corn I think was the difference. Also I was sad to not have my fave Tawse Rose. I tried the other Rose. It's ok but not the 'wow' that I enjoyed with Tawse.
I suppose change is inevitable but I'm not looking forward to going back anytime soon.
