We love Danton's but the brunch was a let down. We were seated near the middle of the room and the music was far to loud to have a conversation. It is Jazz, not rock and roll. The group was great but they need to crank the volume down so people can enjoy it and have a conversation.
We had dinner before a play.
The place is a wonderful throw back in time when people dined out and did not just grab something to eat.
The service was great and the food was even better.
Definitely 5 Stars.
Everything was GREAT.
I am so glad that I found this restaurant and will come back often.
My wife Susie and love the food and service, James has been our server I believe every time we have eaten there. I tell you it is awesome when I set down James greets me with a drink that he knows I love, great place!
Our usual stop before Sunday afternoon theater, never fails to provide the proper level of live entertainment along with excellent cuisine.
As usual, Danton's Sunday brunch was very tasty with wonderful blues music that was not too loud for friendly table conversation. I had eggs benedict with fried oysters including a tasty garlic butter for the very good bread, catfish morsels, and perfect mimosas. The sauce for the eggs benedict was rich in flavor and the smoked bacon/ham was the best I have tasted in a very long time. The wait staff and owner were very attentive as well as professional. I would recommend Danton's for those who enjoy the Gulf/New Orleans attitude, flavors, and music and especially for Sunday brunch.
It was my husbands birthday. Our server, Sheray was delightful and very helpful. The oysters were great. Too bad they ran out if soft shelled crabs
Always good food and service.
What happened to Danton's? A restaurant that used to have ambiance, decent food, some sense of pride has somehow turned into a place where the waiter forgets to serve one diner his dinner, another his drink. The food has changed as well. The Poblano soup which used to be so good no longer has the same savor; they used to serve half shell osiers with verjus. This crew didm;t know what that was. Not going back, sadly.
Service was attentive and professional. Food was good, especially the oysters.
Danton's never fails to please, and Louis is at the top of his game. You haven't lived until you have had Danton's Soft-Shelled Crab!
Went for the Blues Brunch (which also coincided with Easter). The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was flavorful and appropriately portioned. Will visit again
The food was too notch fresh seafood. The portions were perfect. The Sunday brunch music was fabulous.
The band that plays on the 1st Sunday of the month is incredible.
This was a 'diamond in the rough'. We were unaware of the restaurant before Google told us about it . It was an added treat as there was jazz band for our Sunday brunch. The seafood was fresh with its own homemade sauces. It was a delight!
The food is always good and the music was superb! We have always had the best servers with great suggestions for menu items, and it never takes long to be served your food. We love the ambiance. The only issue is that they don't have a traditional brunch. You cant taste different menu options as part of the brunch experience. But that's not enough to keep us away! The first Sunday Band is so entertaining! We love the music!
LOVE this place. Very reminiscent of New Orleans. The best gumbo I've ever had.
Fish was dry without flavor. Ceiling tiles are dingy.
Symphony with the kids
Are waiter James was awesome as usual and the food is the best
We always try to visit Danton’s when in Houston. Sometimes more than once in several days! This visit was just for one night so we had to make the most of it. My Oysters Montrose were superb. The gumbo was as dark and rich as ever. Our server, Louis, was entertaining, efficient, and very attentive without hovering. He’s one of our favorites! We will definitely be back again, and again....
the place smelled, like old dish rag, did not seem clean.
Loved our server, everything we ate and drink was excellent.
Nice wine selection but the prices for food were astonishing. $43 for snapper filet?
The service and establishment was amazing. The food was subpar though. We ordered from the daily specials menu, and we were let down. In fact, the Cajun scallops were terrible. It was the first time that I found scallops hard to eat. They had a straight charcoal/smoke flavor to them. The etoufee was average at best. I would definitely go again, but I would order from the traditional menu this time and stick to something basic.
Best seafood around. Very fresh and wonderful selection. HIGHLY recommend
Food was really good!! Will return.
Danton's was excellent - food and service. We enjoyed appetizers, dinner, dessert and drinks.
Would definitely go back!
Fantastic Anniversary Dinner!
Went for Sunday Blues Brunch. Great music, fantastic food. And the service that James gave us was exemplary. Definitely will be back.
We had lunch at Dantons and is was good but not great. I may have just selected the wrong item. The staff was attentive and friendly but the food was average and there are so many options in Houston that are outstanding .
The food was delicious and the Migas was a perfect choice for brunch as was the Eggs Benedict with fried oysters. And we came for the live blues and the band did not disappoint. Great family meal.
Very friendly staff. Great food. The specials for the day were excellent - particularly the crawfish 1/2 and 1/2.
Best seafood in Houston. Kyle and Danton have a winner! Louis' wine selections (and attentive service) are perfect.
Danton's touches in the kitchen are true to Cajun traditional seafood touches, although menu well-balanced - - something for everyone and every taste.
Good food, friendly efficient service in a nice low key dining room always makes for a good evening.
Everything was superb!
Our first trip to Danton's and definitely not our last! Great seafood, nice selections and great service.
Way over-priced for the standard of service and food that was delivered, and couldn't really tell if the ingredients were fresh or not as over-powered by spices... even after waitress said that nothing was spicy. Salad for starters was limp, with a ton of raw onion (guess this was preparing the mouth for the heat to come in the main course?).Creme brûlée had a crust thicker than the Winter Olympics skating rink! Only booked it to try something different, based on being over 4.5 on OpenTable. We will not be coming back. $200 for a 2 course mediocre meal for 2... no thanks!
We have been there many times and they never disappoint us!!! The raw oysters were delicious. Our friends loved it and want to go back soon. The service was fantastic!!!
I got there at 11am, 1st Sunday ( feb. 4 2018) of the month and was expecting the female lead singer to start singing as soon as the band started playing. However, she did not take the stage until 30- 40 mins. had elapsed.
Very disappointed as I scheduled my visit strictly to hear her sing starting at 11am.
