Danton's Gulf Coast Seafood Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
We are visitors to Houston who decided to try Danton's for a Cajun meal. We are very glad that we made that choice. The food was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed the crab/corn chowder, that was the perfect balance of creamy and spicy. The fried oysters were beautifully prepared. We will recommend Danton's to others.
The server (Barry) was horrible, we ordered a drink and appetizers and the appetizers came and the drink (hot tea) came 45 minuets later, we’d asked for honey for the tea and was advised he’d have to go to the back to try and find some and the price for the portions size was ridiculous.
2nd time here and it was exceptional again. Our Server, Barry, was excellent and so was the food. Stuffed shrimp, baked oyesters, stuffed redfish and bread pudding were some of the best I have had. Overall one of my all t8me favorite restaurants in all of theUS.
We had a difficult party of 7 (difficult being special tastes, picky eaters, etc. and a very demanding diner).
All of our food came out perfect, hot and delicious. Everyone loved their food.
Our Server, Zachary, went beyond the call of duty and anticipated our needs. He gave exceptional service and should be commended.
been here multiple times. knew their sunday jazz brunch was fun and yummy. made my reservation for my mom’s 78th birthday and wanted it to be special. notified them when booking reservation it was her bday. we also asked the hostess if maybe she could have the jazz band wish her happy bday since nothing to this point done. hostess said she would. nothing by band or restaurant! ill pick another place next time.
We enjoyed the food very much. Quite surprised at how few people were dining there that evening (Black Friday).
Pleased with our service and the quality of food. We had halibut, crawfish half and half, a shrimp pasta dish and the court bouillon.
Many other reviews rave about the food and that’s fair. However as I mentioned wish there was a bit more lively atmosphere.
We had a nice dinner. The food was a bit more spicy than we liked, but tasted great otherwise. We loved the freshness of the seafood. The vibe of the place is casual, like a neighborhood place that people return to often. Noise level was just right - we could easily talk around the table without having to raise our voices, but also not too quiet. Overall we felt it was a good value for money.
Danton's provides delicious seafood dishes, not a lot of surprises but good to great comfort food. The crawfish/corn bisque was very nice, and grilled redfish was prepared to a turn. All good. The waiter made a very good suggestion for wine that was exactly what we had wanted, and that was a very nice plus to the night. I enjoyed it and will be back.
We always try to go to Danton's when in Houston. Once again, we're glad we did. The broiled flounder was divine. My husband had a shrimp and oyster entree that we usually have as an appetizer. He did not offer to share! The yams are more like a dessert. They are so yummy! The dirty rice was seasoned just right. The crowning glory was the white chocolate bread pudding. You will want to lick the bowl. It's enough to share! So, so delicious!
Just recently discovered this gem. We have dined two times in the last month and we were very pleased both times. The wait staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The cocktails were spot on and the appetizers and entrees did not disappoint. We appreciate the ambience! Can't wait to return.
