Dante Ristorante Pizzeria Ratings and Reviews
A bit disappointing- there was a hair in my salad which was unsettling. I received a new one and it was taken off my bill. The Peroni was not the 22 oz glasses the menu indicated. Pizza was hot and delicious which made the experience better. I hope the Blackstone location will step it up and meet to high expectations midtown looks for in a new restaurant.
We visited Dante after hearing great things and were anxious to try this award-winning spot for hand-crafted pizza. The environment was lackluster--tables seemed a bit crammed and the environment was not as impressive as you'd expect based on the cost. It was a Friday night and the layout is mostly open, so the restaurant was loud, but that didn't really bother us. A minor detail, but they were using cut up pieces of copier paper (old menus) as coasters, which would be appropriate at a late night pizza joint but not at a place where drinks cost $8+ and our total bill was almost $80. The menu is authentic, which is awesome, but our waitress made us feel a bit uncomfortable whenever we asked what something was. At one point, she even said something like "no, you don't want that" when we ordered a "run of the mill" appetizer, and she proceeded to suggest an appetizer that was double the cost. We had to assure her that we would rather have the original order -- it took two requests. We all ordered drinks (wine, craft cocktails and beer) and, though they were delicious, they came out only a few minutes before our food. Not sure if the bartender or waitress was at fault here. We are in our late twenties, and it was no secret that our waitress was more interested in the tables around us with older guests racking up hefty drink tabs.
The best part of the visit was the food. It was absolutely delicious. We had a red and a white pizza and both were perfectly cooked with a crispy wood-oven crust and a generous supply of toppings. The dessert menu also looked delicious, though we didn't partake as we had other plans that evening.
Overall, though the food was awesome, we were unimpressed by the environment and service and will probably keep going to Pitch where we don't feel we're treated differently because of our age or taste in food. Perhaps the Blackstone location will be better suited for us.
I should work for Dante! I love this place so much and I always recommend it. I am a purist, so for me, the Margherita Pizza is the best choice. It is literally the best pizza I have ever eaten, and I've been around the world, including Italy! Seriously, everything I've ever tried here has been fantastic. And everyone is super friendly and not pretentious at all, from the hostesses, to the wait staff, to my friend Adam, who is the resident sommelier, and all around great guy. I can't say enough great things about this place.
Another great family get together at Dante this last Sunday.
Adam and the whole serving staff are always so gracious when we come in, even with a three year old in tow. My millennial son insists we go here every year for his birthday, so Dante is part of our family traditions!
It doesnt get any better than sitting with family, a glass of Sassetto Sangiovese, and Nick’s Pasta Bolognese.
I normally come for the pizza but I got a little crazy last night and ordered the scallops that were on special. This is one of the only places I will order seafood in Omaha and it did not disappoint. They were perfectly cooked. We also ordered the potato puffs for my nephew and they were an absolute hit - I found myself trying to sneak a few when he wasn't looking. Marcus, our server, provided excellent service.
Had a wonderful meal there on Friday night. One of the specials that night was a wood roasted head of cauliflower, which initially wouldn't have been something my wife and I would order, but it came highly recommended from our server so we gave it a try. It was wood roasted in duck fat and covered in a rich cream sauce, and was truly incredible. We always enjoy the atmosphere and the creative food.
I took a girlfriend here for lunch who is vegan and can't eat at many places, and she said this was the best meal she's had at a restaurant in Omaha. I don't have any dietary restrictions, and I was so impressed that the waiter took the time to tell her about everything she could order - and there was a lot! We both decided on the flatbread and greens because it seemed like a good value at lunch, her's was made vegan of course, and we split the brussels sprouts (requested no meat). My friend was so happy she has finally found a place to order vegan food, that she said she's bringing her husband back in tonight!
Worst value I have seen in a long while. My wife chose your restaurant based on your YELP reviews???? We were all disappointed. Our pizzas had very little topping, crust was burnt, and was lacking in flavor, wet and $20?????? Our salad was only frizee. Would have appreciated some toppings for that price. I was still hungry when I got the enourmous bill!
Our waiter was good, the ambience was nice...but we would have appreciated better food and better value.
In the past we've liked the food, although the price has always been on the heavy side and service has always been slow. Tonight when we got our bill I was shocked. First because the food was subpar but more so because they charged $20 for their Fried Green Tomato appetizer, which came with three slices of tomaotes no bigger then a silver dollar. I was so disappointed. Definitely NOT worth the price.
We had a tremendous dinner at Dante’s. We started with the zucchini fritti. It was crisp and salty and a great start! We ordered butternut squash soup and a farm greens salad. Both were delicious. Our entrees included the chicken w/ aux jus and gnocchi, and pasta carbonara. They were all great! Service was friendly and efficient despite a very busy restaurant. Dante’s remains one of the best in the city.
We eat out a lot. We are pathetically picky. We love good food. We like to be waited on. We respect and appreciate a good waite staff. Dante's has all of these. A great sommelier, a great chef/owner, an excellent wine selection, fresh great pasta that stays hot (how they do that I don't know) a vibrant ambience, and I could go on and on. Nothing like it in Omaha
This is my favorite place in West Omaha. I love their specialty drinks. Witchcraft is my recent favorite. We met friends who live in Lincoln and had a very nice evening. It was Friday night, and they were busy. We never felt rushed to leave.
Started with appetizers recommended by our waiter for sharing. Zucchini chips and popcorn. The chips were amazing. We also ordered the carrots and Brussels sprouts. My husband and I always go with the Giuseppe pizza. Our friends ordered Pappardelle & Braised Beef Ragu and the Chicken Gnocci (special). Everyone loved their meal.
We are very happy to have this gem in West Omaha and can't wait to return!
