DANTE Ratings and Reviews
This was our 1st time at Dante's and would definitely consider going there again. We selected the 5 course tasting menu as we feeling adventurous and we were not disappointed. Each course brought different flavors to the table and we enjoyed every course served. Our favorites were a celery root pasta dish and the strip steak served as the 4th course. I've never tasted a strip steak like this, it's texture and tenderness more like a filet but with better flavor. our server recommended a nice Italian red to go with the 3rd and 4th courses and it was a hit. Overall, a very good experience at a top shelf restaurant!
Delicious homemade pasta, I can’t help myself but order the pasta carbonara every time, it’s that good. I didn’t order dessert this time, but have tried the homemade sorbets and ice creams in the past, and they were very good. Our server was great, very attentive and friendly. It can be a bit noisy because the tables are pretty close together, but I’m ok with that.
We did the 7 course tasting based on the server's indication that the courses were reasonably sized. It ended up being way too much food, and the server offered to wrap up course number 6. Unfortunately, they never brought us the wrapped course at the end of the night and I didn't remember it until we were back home. Very disappointed considering the quality of the food and cost of the meal. Dante's food is amazing but it is expensive. Over $300 for 2. I would do just 5 courses next time.
We were a party of 6 last Friday. Everyone ordered something different: salmon, duck and pasta to name a few. We love Dante’s menu because it’s fun to try several “tastes” as well. My personal favorite was the lobster agnolotti, a house maid lobster stuffed pasta dish. Saving room for dessert was a challenge but our sever wouldn’t hear of it and sent over a dessert or 3 to celebrate our son’s birthday! The ambiance along with professional and friendly servers make this a spot we look forward to returning to over and over again! Thank you Dante!
I can’t begin to tell you how disappointed I was in this experience. It started with being seated.
We were seated in the front of the restaurant right by the door/ bar area. I asked to be moved and was told very sharply “no we have a large party” and the wait would be 45 minutes even though we had reservations. The area we were seated in would be better as a “waiting area/ extension” of the bar. It was loud And freezing! Every time the front door opened a cold breeze came in. Most people in this area ate dinner with their coats on. It was so cold and loud I couldn’t wait to leave. I had originally planned on enjoying the “tasting menu” but as cold as I was I didn’t want to be there that long. The waiter was very inattentive and didn’t even come over to ask how our dinner was. I would’ve liked another beverage but didn’t have anyone to place the order with. Overall a very very disappointing experience.
Exceptional service: knowledgeable about food and wine menus, attentive, responsive.
I was made to feel welcomed and treated as a special guest.
Food is consistently good, flavorful and expertly prepared. Good to see the chef/owner actually in the kitchen tending to details.
Menu is varied and offers many interesting food options along with portion options.
Still a great Cleveland restaurant.
We loved everything we ordered ——the Chinese cabbage soup and miso soups were great ; the brussel sprouts ; the mussels ; and our main courses of salmon and Branzino were fabulous . The environment is great . My only criticism was the delay in main course preparation. But we had a wonderful time .
DANTE came as a recommendation from a coworker as I was in the Cleveland area for a wedding. It was perfect for dinner, drinks & desert! The staff was amazing and very attentive. We got a tour of the restaurant from the Hostess, and ended up spending the rest of the evening at the the Live Music Bar CODA. Great experience all around!
I wanted to treat my brother (visiting from out of town) to a special place for his birthday. Dante was my choice, and it did not disappoint. I had had a very good experience there several years ago and ever since had been looking for a reason to return. All of the courses we had--the soup, risotto, entree, and dessert--were excellent. My only reason for rating the food "very good" is that the entree should have been somewhat warmer when delivered to the table; at least it should not have cooled off as quickly as it did. The service was satisfactory, but I found it annoying that, on checking back on us, the wait person said, "How are the entrees? Fantastic, right?" That was completely out of place at a restaurant of this calibre--and, I might add, at these prices. Just the same, I hope to have a reason to go back at least a third time.
My boyfriend and I visited DANTE for the first time to celebrate two special occasions and we were blown away. The food is varied, complex, and just plain delicious. We started with the mussels appetizer with crab meat and it was so good we cleaned the bowl. The duo of duck entree was a hit with my boyfriend and my salmon with the butternut squash risotto was incredible. The salmon was cooked beautifully--a slight crust on the outside but moist on the inside. The portion size was also generous enough for leftovers, which tasted just as amazing the next day as it did the night before. We'll definitely be back in the future to try the tasting menus, since there are a number of dishes we still want to try. Go and you won't be disappointed.
Second time here. First was a business dinner this time with my wife before we went to a show at Playhouse Square and to celebrate my promotion at work. Everything from food to service to atmosphere was awesome. My wife did a 5 course tasting with wine pairing which she loved. I highly recommend the steak and sausage bolognese. Awesome neighborhood (Tremont) too. Definitely will be back!
We were in Cleveland for the first time and picked Dante for my birthday dinner, based on the reviews I found. We thought it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and Jackie was an awesome server. She was helpful and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Food was wonderful and beautifully presented. Would highly recommend Dante for a memorable dining experience.
My wife and I ate dinner here before heading to the playhouse district for a show. The service was prompt, attentive and friendly. We went with the 5 course tasting menu paired with wines. To say we were pleased would be an understatement. Each course was perfectly prepared and presented. The wines paired with each course were in my opinion expertly selected and complemented each respective course amazingly well. Our server explained and presented each course and wine selection in a way that certainly enhanced the overall experience. If you are looking for great food and wine I would highly recommend you give Dante’s a visit. You will not be disappointed.
