DANTE Ratings and Reviews
Everyone raved about this place so I made a reservation for Valentine's Day. Was very disappointed to be seated in a row of tables for two that were so close that I felt like I was a part of the conversation next to me. Not very romantic. Food was good but nothing I would order again. Service was decent but took a while to get water refills. I understand it was a holiday and they were busy. Maybe I will try again on a normal weekend.
I enjoy my meal every time. The food has amazing flavor. The staff was excellent as always. We enjoyed the mussels as an appetizer. They are always so good, especially the broth! I had the sea bass as an entree and it was amazing! I have never been disappointed at DANTE.
The food and service were amazing. My wife and I went there for valentines dinner. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the 5 course menu Special for Valentine’s Day all courses were very nicely displayed and tasted amazing. Definitely will be going back.
Dante is a great restaurant - the food is excellent. The timing between tapas dishes and courses can drag out a little - but they are worth it - and very accommodating. I would let your server know how you want the tempo of dishes to come out in advance. Or just go for the larger plates. Service wise - its a great place. The people that work there enjoy what they do. We will return again and again. A Cleveland Gem.
We ate at Dante for the second time on 2/3. We were not disappointed. The food is just so amazing. I had the salmon and, since even the word "squash" makes me run for cover, the waiter immediately recommended a mushroom risotto to replace the butternut squash risotto. Heaven!
The staff is so professional and knows the menu and kitchen intimately. Such a great experience!
We started with the tuna tarter which was very good. Second course was past and it was excellent (as always). We really enjoy the ability to order tasting sizes (which are still ample). The Bolognese and Carbonara are both great. I had the duck duo as my entree and my date had the lobster ravioli. I’d say the duck was the winner as most of the ravioli was left unfinished and the duck was a clean plate (we shared).
Overall an excellent experience, nice servers/bartenders, solid ambiance and a reasonable price point. Will definitely go back.
We enjoyed the food at Dante, we opted for the tasting menu and loved each course. I do wish it had more variety as we had 3 fish courses (we like seafood but still it was a lot of seafood). The wine pairings our server David chose were wonderful as well. The service started out wonderful but as the restaurant got busier it began to lack some. Twice we were served our course before we had even been given our wine pairing. I began to feel a little forgotten. I also found the restaurant to be slightly cramped.
We were given a special Birhtday dessert which we did apprecaite and we had a very lovely evening. Everything was cooked wonderfully, my only real "compliant" was the service as it began to dwindle. We do a Cleveland tasting menu for my birthday each year and this was wonderful but not our favorite so far, mostly due to the service and lack of variety.
2nd time to Dante. First time there had the tasting menu. This time we ate from the menu.
Started with the carpaccio which was good, but I've had better. I would not order it again.
Also tried had an apple squash soup which was excellent. For entrees we had pappardelle Bolognese which was awesome, scallops which were perfectly cooked and branzino which was excellent. Had the cheese plate for dessert which was just okay and would not order again.
Overall excellent food, expensive but will go again.
We went to Dante for a nice couples dinner to celebrate the new year. We could not have been more pleased with the food, cocktails and the excellent service by our waiter Danny. We Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a unique dining experience in a lively neighborhood.
My husband and I went to Dante for New Years Eve dinner. We chose the 5 course tasting menu paired with wine for $125 each. It was fantastic. I wasn't a fan of the first course so the waited substituted something else for me. The service was perfectly paced. We were not rushed nor did too much time pass before the next course. We had an early reservation and finished about 8:00 when it was getting busy. I would definitely go back. It was worth the money.
We had the 5 course tasting menu, I am so glad we tried it. So much attention to detail, even the small touches were amazing and memorable. Our server was perfectly attentive without being too much. We came in on a frigid night, out table was by a window and there were even heaters under the seat. I left having a wonderful experience.
Had an absolutely amazing time! Outstanding food and great ambience. It did get a tad loud due to the close proximity of other tables. Also, near the end, our server got busy and seemed to forget about us. However, I would definitely go again because of the food quality, server knowledge, and elegance.
