My group had a very favorable experience at Danny's and will surely return in the near future.
We were out with another couple and Danny’s is one of our favorite places to go together. Great food, service, atmosphere. My only complaint is the lack of gluten-free and dairy free items. More and more people seem to be struggling with these ingredients and it would be great to have more options.
Menu was very small, only 2 entrees plus a special, few sandwiches and salads. Bar tender had his mask around his neck whole time. Making drinks with it down. Very bothersome since it’s still a mandate. Overall disappointed , was hoping after last summer they would have gotten their crap together. Hope it will continue to get better as things open up more and it’s golf season.
Danny's has been a restaurant we frequently visited due to the good food and relaxing atmosphere. Saturday was our first time back since it open following a winter shut down. We were disappointed with the new menu selection. The menu has been dramatically reduced with limited options for our group. Hopefully, Danny's will expand the menu as we get closer to summer.
Thank you for choosing Danny's, and thank you for your response. Our establishment is just in its third week of operation after an unfortunate pause due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We appreciate your patience as we are focused on filling positions and training lots of new staff members. We will be expanding our menu as we move closer to summer and look forward to seeing you then.
Two of the three of us ordered Cobb Salad. Served on a bed of mixed greens was one way to serve it but the combo greens fought with the rest of the salad. Overall, the salad seemed to have old ingredients, took the majority of it home and threw it out.
We used to go to Danny's at least once a month. When Chef Ron left, the food and service really went down hill. After two years, we went back to give it another chance and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing and the service was top notch! We will be back again and again!
Food was good, service was good and drinks were excellent
Great food. Service works for those who want to hangout - which we typically do when we go here.
We had originally gone to a different restaurant in downtown Stillwater for my birthday dinner. The tables were not spaced apart at all and we could literally touch the person at the table next to us. We didn't feel safe so we left and gave Danny's a try last minute. It was so much better! Safety precautions were in place, we sat at a quiet booth and were able to enjoy our first dinner out in awhile. Service was a bit slow (food took awhile) but we weren't in a hurry and understand the difficulties of trying to staff/run a restaurant in these trying times. Highly recommend.
We have loved Danny's for years and most of the time have had amazing meals there. Tonight was different.
We ordered grilled Caesar Salads to start and after waiting about 30 minutes, they arrived. Then about two minutes later our entrees arrived, to which the server apologized that she didn't know they were going to come out so fast.
My husband ordered the Walleye and the butter on top was still cold and didn't start melting until he pressed it into the fish. I ordered the Filet Mignon and while it was tender, it was an odd cut and didn't taste like a Filet. I also ordered the loaded has town as a side and they came out about 10 minutes after our entrees. They were not like the loaded hash browns I've had before at Danny's, they were super thin and didn't seem like they were cooked the way they have been before.
All in all, a disappointing experience at Danny's on an evening when they weren't very busy. We will go back because of our previous great experiences, but this one was really not good. Out of the dozens of visits to Danny's, this one was the worst.
Due to Covid, the exceptional weather & thinking golfers might take advantage of the patio setting, we made reservations but they weren’t necessary - plenty of tables, spaced apart. A few nice flowers here and there and watching the occasional golfers teeing off was entertaining - maybe a few more higher plantings would help w the overall setting (a little boring but overall, fine). Oh, maybe stream some background music to help?
The service was good/well-paced, the food was decent - the chicken quesadilla was big (I’d prefer the chicken to be either smaller “chunks” or shredded) and the meatball crostini was tasty - maybe toast the bread a bit more tho. Overall a decent dining experience for what we were looking for and expected.
Wonderful experience! The food was excellent, drinks were very well made and ambience was very enjoyable. Was hoping for live music but it was cancelled last minute. Recommend!!
We sat on the patio on a beautiful evening. Great food and service.
Great meal, amazing chef, great service and ambiance!
We had a delightful meal at Dani's. Unfortunately, my meal was not good, though my partner's was excellent. We had the chef come and talk with us, and we understand there were some mistakes made. He was open about it, apologetic, and the removed that from our bill. While my food was not good, the experience was excellent, and I was impressed by the service, and their direct follow-through and response to their mistake. Thank you!
We went to Danny's quite frequently a few years back. Then they had a change in chefs and we went a few times and were disappointed so we stopped going. We heard they had a new chef so thought we would give it another try. Overall we were pleased. Our meals were very good. The only improvement I would suggest is that my risotto was mushy, not creamy. At Danny's price point, they should have good risotto. My husband and I said that they will be back in our rotation again.
Best steak around!! Great quality food and beautiful presentation!
Great service....Beautiful view!
Great evening and good service. The patio was lovely but I wish the guitarist would have played longer.
Never had this happen before...We ordered and received an order of cheese curds which were a bit over-brown, but we didn't mind. Imagine our surprise when the waiter dropped off another order of cheese curds saying "the chef was not happy about the quality of the first batch and wanted to send out a new batch that met his standards". We were shocked. Have you ever had any restaurant do something like this without even being asked?? We will definitely be returning!!!
The food was great. Recommend the crab cakes and fajitas. Live music really added and was at the right volume. Ben, our server was attentive and courteous. Had a great time!
Our service was excellent! However, food and drinks not so good. Food was average and a drink ordered with fresh lime juice, which they said they had, was actually Roses Lime. We have been there many times but something has changed.
Very nice dinner. The food and the wine were excellent. Our waiter was great.
Great service and amazing food! I would definitely recommend to family and friends.
Tasty food, fantastic setting excellent service!!!
The wait staff was accommodating and is always so patient with our young girls.
Our dinner was excellent! This was our 1st experience at Danny's and we will definitely be back! Our server was top notch! I do not remember his name but he just graduated high school from Woodbury this year. He was very personable and did a wonderful job. All of the other runners were very efficient and pleasant as well. The steaks were out of this world! The homemade salad dressing was wonderful, the marinated mushrooms, and the roasted Brussels sprouts were awesome too!!
A great patio so it worked perfectly and got to play 9 holes of golf first. A perfect location for a birthday gathering with social distancing.
I absolutely love Ben as my server! He always has a smile on his face and gets our food and drinks out in very little time with charm and charisma. Loved the atmosphere with live music at night and view of the sunset over the gold course. We will be back VERY soon!
Food took 40 minutes. Bad first experience at an expensive place. Prices don't meet level of service.
great place exelent service great food great drinks sat inside because of weather but great patio.
We sat outside on a hot and stormy-looking day and couldn’t have been happier with the food and service, with special attention to my quirky food sensitivities. Great service, though food did take quite awhile.
Inside, It seemed crowded, like they should be removing tables to create social distancing. Was also surprised to see live music inside. I don’t know what the official rules are, but it didn’t feel comfortable walking through to get to the patio. Or going back in to use the bathroom.
Patio area was very nice with reasonable spacing between tables. Staff was wearing masks. All good!
The crab cake appetizer was delicious so we were excited for a great meal. It quickly went down hill after that, though. My main course was pasta (listed spaghetti but served with fettucini - did they know??) with shrimp and crab. The sauce immediately reminded me of Chef Boyardee in both color and flavor. The shrimp were undercooked and tough. The crab - flavorless. My wife ordered breaded walleye. It was overdone and dry. Service was also not good. Server disappeared after entre order and I sat with an empty wine glass for quite some time. I ordered another wine when entres arrived. It did not show up until after we were done with the meal. I sent it back at that point.
Bottom line is that they asked for premium pricing ($27 for my pasta dish) and delivered substandard food with amateur service. We won't go back - too many other options out there.
I have an annual brunch with my two daughters in celebration of their birthdays. We have kept going back to Danny's because we've always had a favorable experience.
The service was adequate but they were very busy yesterday because of a junior golfers luncheon on the patio next to us. That also made the noise louder but we could still communicate . We will be back next year.
The food was great and the service even better. It’s one of the better evenings out we’ve had for a very long time.
The staff was very professional, service was great and had great attention to detail for social distancing
Bring back the Pretzel Bites, please!!! Really miss those!! Otherwise, food was very good.
We had a party of 6 for Father's Day on the patio. Great view of the golf course. And everyone loved the food they ordered.
