It was my first time at this location. I honestly don’t think that applying a 20% automatic gratuity merits a return visit. The menu prices are too high for the quality of food served. I am definitely not impressed.
Great for restaurant week
We love going to Daniel's Broiler for special occasions. The service and food are always superb!
Celebrated birthday with another wonderful meal at Daniel’s. Our server, Justen, was great making sure everything was to our liking, attentive without being intrusive.
We went for brunch and really enjoyed it! Great food and service. We were surprised to find brunch items are reasonably priced. Will be back
It's a Seattle establishment that is consistently good with outstanding service. Our steak and lamb chops were cooked to perfection!
Not a good dining experience!!
We split caesar salad - very small and over dressed
My husband ordered lamb chops - 1 chop done perfectly , the other 2 raw! Sent back to kitchen and the plate was returned with only one lamb chop !
My roast chicken and potatoes came with so much gravy and very salty
Even my cocktail was mediocre :(
Prawns were C-, very cheery. Wife’s lobster salad was good.
I usually enjoy Daniels but perhaps because it was restaurant week the experience was a disappointment. The hostess was cranky. We arrived 20 minutes early even though our table was ready. We were all a bit perplexed at what she was unhappy about and my steak, ordered medium rare, was well done. Not sure how a steak house whiffs that bad on cooking a steak. I'm chalking the whole experience up to a stressed out staff due to restaurant week.
Food was good and service was fantastic and we were seated at a table with a great view. Joe, our server, was friendly and great. We will definitely come back!
Had a great meal. Iforgot to order oysters Rockefeller.
This was my first time visiting Daniel's in a few years. What a wonderful experience! Our server was attentive and sweet, she checked in several times to see if we needed anything. Our food was simple yet delicious, I ordered salmon beurre blanc (sp?) and I loved every single bite! The salmon was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked.
The ambiance was calm, several groups were there but nobody was loud. It was excellent from beginning to end. I'll definitely go again!
Dessert wasn’t as good as before. Wait person was great!!! It was crowded because of restaurant week. The ahi appetizer was excellent. My scampi was good, but not excellent.
Service is always great when I go visit and the food is really good. I love their steaks and appetizers. The salt butter is so addicting. The staff is so friendly and kind, they really take care of you and make sure you have a great dining experience not only with the service but also with the food.
Not my first trip to Daniel's, but the first one where I experienced any hiccup after a few years of their rewards membership. The food, as always was excellent, with a perfectly cooked steak and for the first time tried their Brussels sprouts, which uses a Frangelico creme sauce that is the bee's knees.
Service was prompt and knowledgeable, checking in without being overbearing.
The only hiccup when it came time to pay, for which I had a rewards certificate, that the staff declined based on an expiration date. The manager and I chatted, and once we had cleared up the misunderstanding and poor communication to rewards' members, he helped. Daniel's doesn't have a tip line on their receipts, but we left a cash tip anyway because it was never about price, and there were no hard feelings.
Courteous, helpful staff, great food, good location, small without being cramped. Price is a little high for comparable steakhouses, but not out of this world, and the quality beats those with higher prices (like, for example, John Howie).
Daniel's has long been a family favorite for special occasions. Meals are well prepared, service is great and the view can't be beat. We visited during Restaurant Week on this occasion, and though the service was excellent as always, the special prix fixe menu did not meet their usual high standards, most notably in the presentation. That won't stop us from visiting again, but not during Restaurant Week.
Waitress cleared table too early when one person in party was still eating; took bread away while people still eating; felt we were being rushed
Everything was so delicious. Melissa was fabulous. Very friendly and genuine.
Our waitress was excellent! We were seated by the windows & our guests loved the view even though it was a rainy day. We will definitely return & recommend to our friends & family. We have dined at both the Lake Union & Bellevue and like this location by far!!
We came all the way from Atlanta to celebrate my husband’s birthday and chose Daniel’s Broiler as our dining venue. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious, the service was perfect, and the view was beautiful. I was so full of love and joy the entire evening.
Delicious food, and a beautiful view. Although, the restaurant needs bigger water cups or to leave a pitcher of water - having to ask for water continously throughout the meal can cause disruption in the dining experience.
Special thanks to the Daniel's Broiler organization. Due to my error, my husband and I arrived at the South Lake Union Daniel's when our friends were waiting for us at the Leschi branch. I did not know Daniel's had branches. The hostess at Lake Union sorted it out kindly and quickly. We made it down to Leschi and caught up with our friends. The servers brushed off our lateness and treated us all like their most welcome guests. We all loved our meals. I am particularly grateful because we were taking advantage of Restaurant Week specials and an Open Table gift certificate. Heartfelt thanks to everyone. My husband and I definitely will dine with Daniel's again, special week or not.
We were celebrating a big birthday and had the worst service we have ever encountered at a restaurant. It took 20 minutes before we were served a glass of wine and drink and our waitress came to get our dinner order before we had our drinks. It just got worse from there. Only good thing about our night was the food was good except dessert was served with the ice cream completely melted. I’ve never written a restaurant review but felt like I needed to in regards to our horrible service. I may still contact the manager. First time to Leschi Daniels, have been to the others with good service. Will not go back to Leschi.
2 out of the last 3 times we have gone to Daniel's at Leshi, the service has been terrible. Since the tip is added onto the bill automatically, the waiters don't seem to care at all anymore. It wasn't crowded, but every part of our meal was very slow coming - even water, and over 20 minutes of zero service to get our pre-ordered dessert after the table was cleared from the meal.
Food wasn’t worth the price. Got a ribeye that was charred and not very flavorful. Service was good and the view is awesome, but will not be returning.
I have been to Daniels countless times and I have always been pleased. This past experience was for our 2 year anniversary and the steak was over cooked and service seemed less than average.
Fantastic ambiance and wonderful food; with a very nice wine menu. Take advantage of Happy Hour - one of the best in the city. Very nice drives along Lake Washington to get there with a great view of the lake and mountains from all tables.
Their services were great, but food is not so good. Huge disappointing, I will not return again.
Melissa was awesome! Everything was perfect as always.
We go there a lot. It was my Dad’s 82 bday. Table was so bad ! Earthquake bracing by the window where a 82 year ago person could hot there head. I asked for a nice window table. Please read comments when making a booking, not acceptable ‘
Not much of a wow factor. Not much that stands out from other steakhouses. But it’s good.
I have been a frequent diner for many years but find since the automatic addition of the 20% service fee that the level of service and the attention of the serving staff has declined significantly. This was a birthday celebration and the site did nothing to enhance the experience.
The chicken fried steak was suggested by the wait person and was underwhelming at best. It tasted and had the appearance of being burnt. They were pretty skimpy on the Gravy as well and we had to ask for a side.
I was surprised that the brunch menu wasn’t very creative and resembles something that you could get from any old diner.
The food was delicious, the service was wonderful, and the setting is beautiful and relaxing. A great place for any special occasion.
We chose Daniel’s Broiler for the reputation they have for cooking excellent beef. My medium rare request was under done and had to go back. I noted that the gentleman next to me had to return his steak as well. Once it was returned to me it lived up to the reputation. However, the appetizer we ordered were never delivered and it was too late to complain since our entrees were delivered first. The entrees were delivered sans the baked potato I had requested, and our seats as lovely a view as it was had been obstructed by 10-15 huge spiders on the windows to view said lovely view. Overall, it was disappointing because we had always heard such wonderful things about Daniel’s.
Excellent food, friendly service. Throughly enjoyed the brunch.
Unfortunately Daniel’s Leschi just didn’t meet expectations. I’d say our expectations were too high except they were in line with the prices on the menu. We did a special family dinner at Daniel’s. I had prepped the kids for a “Canlis experience.” They concluded, after the meal, that this was “more like Anthony’s.” I’d agree except Daniel’s is 30% more expensive and the service is not as good. Our server had a attitude that wasn’t helpful and a little snobby. My adult kids even noticed it. She was also slow. We didn’t mind as I wanted lots of time with the kids but it would be bad if I was a normal customer. The server also wasn’t helpful. We were first-time diners and wanted a guide. She didn’t provide help unless I asked and even then I felt like a bother. Bottom line is that the service was in-line with a place that has a mandatory 20% service charge. She worked liked she didn’t care about a tip, because she didn’t need to. All three of our steaks were “charcoaled” on the outside. Not sure what they were going for but it was near having to cut off. At $10/oz for a Filet I wasn’t about to give up even on charcoal. Our desserts were promised piping hot, straight out of the oven by a very nice and helpful manager. They came out warmish. Mine was actually barely warm. We were told the desserts would take 10 minutes. They took almost 20. Summary: poor value. Very expensive ($100/person), plus 20% service charge, plus snobby-attitude service, plus poorly-executed food means there are better options and values.
Our service was great. It was a very quiet Thursday night (I think four tables plus the bar). Our appetizers were great (tuna and bacon wrapped scallops). Dinner, on the other hand, was not that good. I had a "bone in rib eye" that was missing the bone and less than 3/4" thick. The center was cooked properly but the outer 2" around was over done. We will stick with happy hours if we return.
Had a wonderful meal at Daniel’s Broiler. Couldn’t beat the view! Fantastic steak, great wine selection.
Their most outstanding feature is the view, food & service are as expected but the price has gotten out of hand. You need to figure $ 100 per person and that is not going to cut it for me anymore. 20% auto service fee, nope, not for me. So long.
