This was our go to place for celebrations so very excited to head there for our anniversary. While I understand the distancing and such the food was delicious. I was sad that the dessert menu didn't include creme brulee but that was fine as we were already full. What I did notice was the noise level, when we first got there there was only 1 other person at a table, but even though the bar area was closed there must have been people there as they were so loud I couldn't have a conversation with my husband! It was like we were at Red Robin! Then the service, absolutely sad. Our server was just slow...slow in taking orders, we were never asked if we wanted another drink. Had to ask for the dessert menu. Since there were no table cloths the water made a mess on the table so just looked dirty/wet/messy. Not sure we'll be headed here for the next anniversary but as I said. It's been a tradition since we were dating but just overall not impressed.
Great place to celebrate my wife's birthday. Kramer provided outstanding service and as always the food was great. Beautiful evening to be sitting outside and enjoying the view.

We had Ahi appetizer, tough and appeared to be not fresh.
Wife had halibut for entree. Tough and not flaky. Appeared to be not fresh as well.
Steak: filet was good.
Great veggies: steamed asparagus.
So, in the days of Covid, it appears food is being used from the freezer and the quality suffers.

We opted for outdoor seating since we are nervous about eating inside during the pandemic. The heaters were not on when we got there (there was another table already seated outside). And when they were turned on, it barely made a difference. I noted it was our anniversary, they could have had the table set up for us. Not enough social distancing on the tables either.

I have to start this review first by saying the food was spectacular. The steak was perfection! The service however was absolutely atrocious, at such a high price tag having to wait 20-30 minutes for drinks everytime, while dirty dishes sat stacked at the end of our table is just unacceptable. The hostess was very snippy, our server Cramer gave the absolute worst service, checking on us every 30 minutes at most. He brought us dessert menus then disappeared for 34 minutes without even taking our empty drinks and asking if we would like another. Fast food service with a fine dining price tag. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Always consistent, always good. Just one downside to the experience-no molten chocolate cake. Apparently it has been removed from the menu. Very sad

Love Daniels but the restaurant was very cool. Normally my wife and I run hot, but we were literally shivering during our meal. It was a cool and rainy day that day, but the air conditioning was running full blast. It was almost as if the restaurant was accomodating the workers over the customers. Would have been a great evening except for the temperature.

Food and service were average, not excellent. Baked potato was overcooked. Steak was just right. Tasty Caesar salad. Not a great value. $223 for average.

I believe our experience on the 24th is due to Covid and trying to get back to business. Normally Daniels is my favorite steakhouse. Tonight the food was semi warm when it arrived. The quality seemed a bit under their normal standards. Service was a bit slow. Again Covid regulations.
Over all it was nice to be able to dine out. Was definitely not standard Daniels 5 stars.

I know there are growing pains with opening up during the pandemic. Given that, service was a bit slow and they are having some supply chain issues so don't have their full menu. I miss the wonderful bread! My halibut was a bit overcooked, and our brussel sprouts were really tough. The manager took that off the bill. My kids steak were great. I hope they hit their stride soon!

We have been going here for years. In all candor, it has always been hit or miss....usually a miss, but we continue to go because we really want this restaurant to be our go-to local special place. Sadly, after giving them the benefit of the doubt for many years, I think this will be our last time. While I appreciate they are coming out of a long down-time due to COVID-19, the service/food/experience was again sub-par especially when you consider they charge $90 for a steak and potato....and the steak was over done, but we decided to eat them because in past experiences it takes 30-40 minutes to get the steaks redone and that destroys the whole experience of having a nice dinner together as a family.
This was out 12th anniversary dinner and we left disappointed.....and thus it will also be the anniversary of our last visit to Daniels Leschi. We have also tried to support hte restaurant with friends that have had similar hit/miss experiences, we will no longer recommend this restaurant to anyone.
We have also tried to reach out to the management over the years, but we have never received a response....thus, it seems to us that they just don't care and while it hurts to close the door on this place, we will take our special dinners to another Daniels, or more likely another restaurant all together.

Husband got the bone in ribeye and it was delicious. I got the halibut and it was dry; definitely not worth $58! Stick to steaks. Kids meals were expensive also. $12 for a small bowl of pasta.

We love going to Daniel's for special occasions. We we there on Saturday, June 20th to celebrate our 20 year anniversary. We typically go to the Lake Union location, but it wasn't open back up yet. We had not been to the Leschi location since our senior prom. I was hesitant about going, as there had been some not-so-great reviews earlier in the month, when they had reopened due to COVID, but it definitely measured up to all our previous experiences at Daniel's! Our server, Melissa, was not only friendly, but attentive and knowledgeable. We had the Daniel's cut 12oz filet Oscar style and the 16oz rib-eye, both exceptional and prepared as we asked. The side of crispy brussels sprouts and calamari starter were both yummy as well. We had brought our own bottle of wine and still had a bit left once we were finished with dinner. I offered to move so they could sit someone else at our great table with an amazing view, but she insisted we sit, relax and enjoy. A 20% service charge is already added to your bill, but we still left an additional tip as it was well deserved. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would come back to this location again!

Went there for my wedding anniversary and it wasn’t up to par. More like I ate at outback. Lake Union Daniel’s is always excellent and that’s what I will stick with.

We have been to Daniel's Broiler on Lake Union multiple times and the combination of location, ambiance, service and quality of food is exceptional. This was our first time to the Leschi location and it was a bit disappointing overall. It is a much older building and it is showing its age. Food presentation and quality was exceptional, as was the table service. Professional yet personable is a delicate balance, and it was handled perfectly. I was disappointed upon arrival to find our reservations did not reflect a change I had made online several days prior from outdoor seating to indoor seating after seeing a change in the weather forecast. After telling the front desk hostess that I had made that change in seating she simply told me her records had us outside. I got out my phone and showed her both confirmations from Open Table, first for outdoor and then the change to indoor. She responded with "our records show you outside". Once more I told her we needed to be seated inside or we would cancel our reservation. We were seated inside at that point. The exchange almost ruined our celebration, but the server and food quality saved the evening. Our next celebration that calls for an exceptional meal will be back at the Lake Union location.

I went two weekends in a row. Randomly made reservations with a close friend and came back the next weekend for Father’s Day because it was so good the weekend before. Definitely a Seattle favorite for a nice dinner every time !

I was disappointed with the steak. The food wasn’t to the level I would have expected it would be. The service was great and it’s lovely being on the water with that view however!

We came by boat and the dock is certainly in need of repair. But the biggest hazard is the stairs up to the restaurant which are poorly maintained. I am surprised they pass any safety inspection. My suggestion is to have the Daniel's get on the building owner or manager to make sure this gets addressed before someone hurts themselves.

The patio at Daniel's Leschi is wonderful - if the weather is nice. Great views of Mt. Rainier and the lake, and easy to keep safe social distancing in the outdoors where aerosolized virus cannot build up in concentration. The food was excellent - just very expensive (almost Canlis expensive). The $40 bottle of Veuve Clicquot is worth it. And if after 5pm - and you get there early - free parking is available right next to the restaurant

I usually don't give comments and, as you can see, my wife and I overall were mostly pleased with our whole dining experience. However, my wife asked for what was approx half of her meal to be boxed (new york steak/large potato with accompanying butter and sour cream) to take home. Our waiter gave us a small box of macaroons as a gift for our anniversary and we left with both boxes. On getting home we discovered that the potato was not included in my wife's box of leftovers. This stuck us both as odd since it was on the same plate as the steak and we've not run into this before. Both my wife and I realize that you have open to dining only recently and the staff "must find there groove" after so much time off. With that in mind, this may all sound a bit petty. I have always been impressed with the service at Daniel's. Let's get back there

I’m a big fan of Daniel’s... usually. After shutdown, however, prices are up, service was not great, food was a bit lacking, and their outdoor seating area was not prepped well for customer- spiders and cobwebs everywhere, smelled of natural gas. And although it’s great waiters wear gloves, it does not put off a good appearance when they’re dirty. For such a premium price tag, now is not the time you’ll get your moneys worth at the Leschi location.

As always, delicious food, and they accommodated a tricky food sensitivity nicely! Took advantage of their 40th anniversary special: a bottle of Veuve Cliquot champagne for only $40; it was delicious and a perfect addition to our birthday celebration. Serious kudos to the table rearrangement to comply with the partial reopening--it was beautiful in the dining room (I remember before it being so crowded that it almost felt like the next table was sitting with you)! Our server was wonderful as well; she was masked and gloved as they all were, but was highly attentive and knowledgeable. And the view is, of course, just amazing! All in all, a lovely evening--highly recommend!!

Another bad experience at Daniel’s Leschi; the third in the the last 9 months and the 3rd in a row. Finally time to write a review.
This place misses on all fronts, as is well documented by the myriad of bad reviews I read on Yelp while waiting for my food.
Waited forever to have my order taken. Drink arrived after the salad. Took until the entree showed up to get a glass of water. Three requests for refills went unanswered. Ordered my burger medium rare and it arrived well done (same issue with filet I ordered last time.). When I raise this issue, the manager was quick to take it off the bill (good)... but the server explained to me that ‘those guys are just slammed in the kitchen; their too busy just trying to get the food out (Bad).
I asked for the check, which arrived 15 minutes later. Never did get a refill on the water.
And the worst: Daniel’s adds a 20% service charge to every order. I have been coming to this joint for 23 years. But no more. Daniel’s is the best example yet of how an automatic service charge absolutely degrades service.
Update 6/28: after Daniel’s made a public plea on OpenTable for my contact information so they could address the situation... no one from Daniel’s ever contacted me. What a surprise.

First sit-down restaurant visit since the COVID Phase 1.5 hit ... and it was strange, but familiar. The sumptuousness of Daniel's has been toned down. Paper menus, no tablecloths, bar closed. Very spare, and spaced out. But the food was as wonderful as always, the service was great and it was just so good to be back.

My only complaint is that Daniels makes no effort to celebrate special occasions. Other restaurants offer a free dessert or some table decorations or even just a card. I've been to Daniels for special occasions a couple times and they do absolutely nothing. That being said, the food and service is always outstanding.
