Daniel's Broiler - Lake Union Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I came here for our annual Christmas dinner date. He was very excited, this was his second time at the restaurant, my first. Our server was very attentive in the beginning, then disappeared at the end when we wanted to leave. His steak was good, however I was not impressed. Disappointed actually...my cut of meat was awful. Also, there were loud children there, which I don't think is the right restaurant for loud children. People do not come to pay that much money to listen to someone else's children.
My opinion overpriced for the product. My steak was perfectly cooked but the quality of the beef was way below expectations for a $62 piece of meat. Would not be my first choice for a premium steak in the future. Also the mashed potatoes were sub par and almost cold. Overall food quality was low and way below expectations for the price.
My husband and I have only been to this restaurant twice. We were in town on business and some hometown friends took us there the first time about 5 years ago. This time we met the same friends again. The view of the lake is very nice. Expect to spend at least $75 -$100 per person if you are having cocktails. The steaks were fabulous as well as the soups and salads. Even the lounge was nice and the piano player was very entertaining.
I've eaten here before, but this was by far one of the best meals I've had at Daniel's. I would imagine that this is the busiest time of the year for Daniel's. However, the food was excellent (we had the seafood specials), and our server, Sara, had great recommendations. I requested a gluten-free meal, and it was perfect. We will be back soon.
We were enjoying 30 years of life together and even though we walked in the rain and
construction in the area to get there, once we entered Daniel's we were welcomed and we felt the warmth and friendly atmosphere there. They didn't know we were there for a special occasion until later but we were treated like royalty from the first moment.I would recommend Daniels Broiler to our friends and I will be back, and not just for special days. Thanks to the staff, they were great.
We had the best dining experience we've had in years. Everything was fabulous...food, service, view. Our server, Ryan, was outstanding. Very personalized service from all the staff, from the water filler to the manager. Nice variety of menu items. Our visit could not have been better. We will be back, for sure.
I don't exactly like to cooking style of my steak. It's a bit over-burnt on the surfaces and with some sauce applied that slightly steal away the original taste of the beef.
Except for the steak, everything else is outstanding including the sides and salads. Service is nice and the venue us absolutely irreplaceable.
This was a return to Daniel's Broiler with clients from out of town that remembered the steak as one of the best ever.
We had a group of eight and the service was excellent. By all accounts the food was outstanding as well...most of the group had steak, but a couple had seafood and commentent on good the preparation and presentation was.
Great service, food, view...well done!
I only get a chance to eat at Dan's Broiler about once a year when I am visiting Seattle. The food has always been of excellent quality and freshly prepared. And I think they have the best steaks ever. My favorite is the small fillet mignon, medium-rare - perfect.
My first visit was due to a gift card I received from ABODA (housing, apartments for visitors of Seattle). My husband, family and friends I introduced to the restaurant all think it is excellent.
Besides, they make a really good raspberry vodka martini... which I like as a dessert.
This restaurant is known for their steaks, so I decided to order one, although, I've had the lobster salad on a previous visit and it wss calling my name. My steak was grilled exactly how I like it. I upgraded to the twice-baked potato and enjoyed it as well and the crab leg appetizer (already extracted from the shell) were as delicious as I remembered. We were seated on the other side of the lounge where the wall was fairly open with a fireplace between. It was a bit noisy as the evening progressed, so I'd recommend that if you want a more intimate evening, request not to sit there. All in all, it was a pleasant evening out, but be prepared to pay for the prime beef that you order (my 12 oz rib steak was $48 with one side).
We tried Daniel's for the first time as a family on Thanksgiving Day 2012. Could not have made a better choice! The menu options were very good, the food was outstanding and we had some of the best service I can recall ever having - anywhere! I waited tables for many years so I am very cognizant about serving - I know good service when I see it! Our waiter was outstanding. My son and I have gluten issues, so the waiter very patiently helped us understand what was in each dish.
Three of us had the prime rib (the best I have ever had) and my wife ordered the salmon. No one left disappointed! And of course the Olympic Mountain ice cream for dessert topped things off perfectly. This may be the start of a new family tradition!
Daniel's exceeded my expectations. As I have been to a Ruth Chris (noisy and overpriced) and Union Square Grill (just ok). I thought this would be more of the same, but the attention to detail was great. It was my father's 89th birthday and he was spoiled by the staff and my 9 year old daughter was well attended. The wine list was better than I expected and I think it may have been the most flavorful filet I've ever had. Atmosphere was nicer and quieter than I expected to. The restaurant is set up nicely for a delicious quiet dinner.
It's nice that the restaurant, though probably known for its meat, has a really creative and good looking vegetarian menu. Unfortunately, I don't think they do as good a job on the vegetarian food; I got the sweet pea and mint ravioli and the fried artichoke hearts. It was all good, but not the calibre I would expect from such a nice restaurant (with such steep prices). My boyfriend thought his steak was great, though.
The ambience is nice with low lighting, the dress is business casual, and there is a waterfront view if you can score a window table.
We hadn't been to the Daniel's Broiler on Lake Union for a couple of years, and I have to say, while the location is still fabulous, we were disappointed in the food. Both our meals were OK, but won't stick in our minds as standout dinners. Of particular note, my twice baked potato had such a hard crust on the top I can only imagine is sat under a warmer or in an oven at least three times as long as it should have. It was inedible. My Filet was cooked perfectly to temperature, as ordered, but the butter garnish on top was heavily salted, which hid the taste of the meat. My husband was similarly unimpressed with his meal. I'm not sure we'll be going back based on the quality of the meal and the accompanying $182 bill!
Such a wonderful restaurant. The food is always impeccable - the service spot on. We spent our anniversary dinner here and brought our 5 year old along (why? last minute decision). But we were seated at a beautiful table near the fireplace. Our meals were great and my little one appreciated being able to order a hamburger. There is plenty of space and you don't feel like you are crowded in with other tables. They also provided us with a complimentary chocolate molten cake for our anniversary. Another great dining experience at Daniel's.
We really enjoyed our food and wine. The steaks we had were by far better than a recent outing at a high-end steak place in Vegas last month. Outstanding quality and flavor. Only critic is something slipped up on being taken care of timely upon arrival for our reservation. We were 15 min. early for an 8:00 reservation, we went to the bar, but we had to go check on our table at 8:35. It was not that busy and no one followed up as with us on the delay.
Very nice restaurant but unusally expensive. Parking was horrible and I was required to pay for it. Getting to the restaurant was also a big problem with the road construction in the area. We had a good time for a special occasion, but I could have found as good a restaurant on the eastside for less $ and much easier parking. Would I return? - Probably not.
A beautiful establishment. Very well run operation. I was well received upon entrance, hostess was prepared and aware of my prior reservation. Food was very good and well prepared. I was out on a first date with a lovely woman. I do feel a made a great in having dinner there.
On the night I was there the food was just OK. Considering the high price for their Steak and Lobster I assumed it would be gourmet quality and cooked perfectly. It wasn't. Lobster overcooked and tough, the Prime Tenderloin had a fair amount of gristle, I would not have rated it Prime. I've had better Choice steaks from Costco. About the same food quality as a Black Angus steakhouse, just served fancier. Not nearly as good as Jaks cooking. But, the service is outstanding.
