Daniel's Broiler - Lake Union Ratings and Reviews
We went to Daniels for our anniversary, we were a little early and ended up in the bar for a glass of wine before we were taken to our table. There were a number of large groups out for holiday dinners (I suspect) so it was a bit noisy when we were first seated, once the groups finished up their meals it was a cozy and inviting atmosphere. We order the scallops which are to die for and paired it with a high end half bottle of gran cuvee. Having been to the Daniels in Bellevue a number of times we were pretty familiar with the menu so we ordered our entrees my husband getting a bone in porterhouse and myself snagging the last piece of prime rib for the night. We paired it with a nice Pacific Northwest Syrah, I work in the wine industry and thoroughly enjoy their selection from not only old world wines but the local region as well. Our server was amazing, very attentive and knowledgeable. We have a very memorable anniversary and will continue to go to Daniels Broiler for future special occasions.
Great food, wonderful friendly staff. The view is fantastic. Not rushed. Our group comes every year at Christmas time. I have never had a bad meal and always had a good time. I have had great birthday celebrations. I have been at different times of the year and have always enjoyed myself.
Steak was prepared exactly the way it was requested, the waygu filet was AWESOME. The ambiance was incredible even when the party of 20 arrived, sitting right in front of us. The nighttime view of Lake Union was great. Would definitely recommend this place. Service was top rate.
We enjoyed a lovely table near the fireplace on the lakeside of the restaurant. Stacy, our server was attentive, helpful and truly caring of our experience; she is a gem. Our meal was excellent, and the wine pairing thanks to Stacy was nearly perfect. Great evening.
Daniel's is great but very expensive if you want steak. I enjoyed their vegan menu (even though I'm not a vegan) and their desserts are pretty great too. The place is in a great location on Lake Union, and is as classy as they come. I try to bring visiting guests there for a drink and dessert if at all possible. I recommend checking it out, but if you're going for a full dinner, prepare to spend big!
Went to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary and the staff made it very special. Had a nice view of Lake Union from our table, the mgr came and congratulated my parents on their anniversary and thanked us for choosing Daniels to celebrate. From my other visits to Daniels, I could tell they went out of their way to make this night special and I along with my parents sincerely appreciated the effort. They loved the food, service, and had a great evening...Thank you!!
We normally order steak at this restaurant and it's usually quite good. This time decided to try the lobster tails. They came out over cooked and we had to send them back. They were nice about it and re-made them (better the second time but not amazing) but it's never pleasant to have to send food back.
First impressions are important and Daniel’s Broiler set the tone as soon as we walked in the door. Promptly greeted and after a quick check in we were promptly seated.
To describe the environment, I can say it in a single word: Classy.
Peaceful and quiet, with just the slightest hint of ambience. It’s always nice to talk with your party without raising your voice.
Not long after seating we were greeted by not only the house/floor manager but even the General manager stopped by for a quick intro, handshake, and a thanks for dining with them that evening.
Our waitress was equally pleasant greeting us with charm and authority over what was available to us for the evening. Wine, specials, steaks...all presented.
On to the food:
Exquisite and nearly perfect.
We started with the bacon wrapped scallops. Cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. The bacon was neither over cooked nor chewy and accompanied the scallops like the best of friends. The only thing we didn’t care for was the toast chip it was sitting, too hard to eat with a soft scallop.
Next up was soup, we had both the lobster bisque and clam chowder. Rich, creamy, and full of flavor and clams/lobster. Clam chowder is usually a disappointment, often being more of a potato chowder..but not at Daniel’s, they were quite generous. I’ll go back just for that.
20oz Delmonico w/ broccolini and a 16oz Ribeye w/ broccolini.
The meal was accompanied with a side of mushrooms and creamed spinach.
The steaks were TOP SHELF, cooked to perfection, and double checked by wait staff with flashlights who insisted we cut into our steaks to verify. Juicy and flavorful, not a dry spot to be found. One point of issue was the ribeye had a portion that was a bit tendon-y which was unpleasant. But I figure that’s uncommon.
New York Cheesecake with fruit topping: No words, just get it. You won’t regret it.
Overall: A+ dining experience and we’ll be returning very soon with friends.
The meal was excellent but when paying my bill they did not charge me the wine and I told them but they had already charged me if got charger again this time. They said they would re - save my money en this days.
But only the waitress came to apologize after I was not charged well twice.
We enjoyed the food tremendously, and the servers were wonderful, but what threw us off was the service fee. Was that in lieu of gratuity? It didn't say. The receipt gave us no opportunity to tip - but none of the information indicated that the service fee replaced the gratuity. That was awkward. We felt like we weren't tipping but the service fee increased our bill by so much that tipping on top of it would not have been as generous as we would normlaly choose to be. It was very odd/awkward and I don't care for that at all. I know most restaurants that have added a service fee indicate that this covers a portion of the "tipping out" amount and then provides an explanation of how you may choose to adjust your tip percentage. That would be more clear and then we'd understand how/if we provide a gratuity.
I'd like to point out that the man who walked around and introduced himself as the manager came across as very "used salesman" and both of my daughters were uncomfortable with how he seemed to be touching some of the serving staff members (all female). For the reputation of this establishment, I would expect a manager to professional in all mannerisms in front of guests.
The hostesses could also really use a guideline for skirt length. Seeing their underwear was funny but probably not appropriate for the atmosphere or price point of this restaurant.
We made a reservation only 4 days in advance for 7pm on Friday, and they were able to accommodate us. Celebrating my brother and sister in law's 39th wedding anniversary. We were treated wonderfully from the moment we entered the door. Cocktails were wonderful and our table was ready within minutes. Fabulous food and superb service. A little pricey, but had a great time. They brought the anniversary couple a complimentary dessert. Nice touch!
The waiter was in training, we had to ask for drinks, ask twice for bread, got the order side dish order wrong, so when they brought it back to fix, my steak went with it, which then came back cold. Had to ask for drink refills. Brought the espresso without sugar, had to ask twice, finally when it showed up it was cold. Spent over $250 for a mediocre service at best. Very disappointed!
Arrived within an hour of making reservation, restaurant closed without notice on their reservation line, open table, or even on their restaurant door. We drove a long way in rain for nothing on a special occasion. Complained, no apology, nothing. Dirtbag service.
This was our first visit to Daniel’s and, based on what we had heard from others, we expected to be wowed. Daniel’s did not disappoint! The ambiance was perfect, evening views were beautiful, and the staff was delightful! And the food was SO delicious! I asked our waiter for a recommendation, three of the four people at our table ended having the same thing that he recommended, and it was perfect! I would definitely recommend for a special occasion and we’ll definitely go back!
As always the service, ambience and FOOD was spectacular. Stacy was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and was able to make a great suggestion for a sub for the wine i wanted. Thus was the first time my family make the trip here and they were so happy with the experience and the food I won't take anyone anywhere else you guys are absolutely awesome and I thank you for what you do every day! See you soon!
I met a friend to celebrate both of our birthdays at Daniels on Lake Union. Being hard of hearing i asked for a seat that was not in the center of the room. They gave us a booth that was so nice that i could catch up with a friend after a number of years and i could actually hear him!! Thank you so much!! The appetizers and dinners were delicious and we even got a surprise for it being our birthdays! Service was excellent. Although we really took our time to enjoy the time spent together and the ambiance we did not feel rushed by the waitstaff which was appreciated! I recommend Daniels on Lake Union for all occasions such a special place! Thank you so much to all the staff for a wonderful experience!
Filet flight was AMAZING and the service was excellent. We split the flight and they gave each of a choice of our own side. Definitely impressed our business associates from Texas and they know their steak. We had a party of 5 and all the food arrived hot and at the same time. It was a perfect presentation.
