Daniel's Broiler - Bellevue Ratings and Reviews
We went to Daniel’s Broiler in Bellevue with our friends to celebrate both our husbands December birthdays. The food was very good, I appreciate being able to split a dinner. My husband and I split the steak and lobster dinner and a salad. It was plenty of food for both of us. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. It was a great birthday celebration for our two husbands birthdays which are on the 20th and 23 of December.
Daniel's Broiler has exceptional food and ambiance. Their steaks are prepared perfectly and every one of the side dishes I've had are exquisite (get the mashed potatoes!).
However, it can get quite crowded and loud, especially on the weekends. We recently had to wait for 30 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. If you don't have a reservation, prepare to fight for a place at the bar.
Arrived at 7:20 for 7:45 reservations was told we would be seated closer to our reservations which was fine at 7:50 I inquired when we wound be seated was told other 7:45 reservations were ahead of us. We were seated at 8:00 pm and shoved in a back room. I did request a window seat which we did get. However prime rib was gone by 6:30 pm according to our server which was very disappointing.
Great food and service. What we ordered we’ve ordered before and it was even better than I remembered. Our wait person was attentive and helpful. I love when you get your food and then you are checked on - which in this case was great. It is in huge need of a facelift. There are old vases with dried rods from 20 yrs ago so dusty ... and O don’t care eating there because it’s so very loud. We sat quite far from the front desk but the phone rang off the hook etc. just as one example
We really like this restaurant. We were celebrating 2 anniversaries with friends. The lobster club salad was said to be delicious and the steak was great, but the shrimp scampi didn't taste very good. So I'd rate three dinners as 5 star and one meal as 2 star, averaging 4 star overall.
Normally Daniels is synonymous with great atmosphere, fantastic service and wonderfil food. This visit, experiencing only one out of three missed the mark.
On my most recent visit, the service wasn't attentitive, even delivering the incorrect drinks and boy was it loud! Normally my guests and I can have a normal conversation - this visit we had to practically shout across a two person table in order to be heard above the din of the other diners. Normally we have an acceptable table and location, this visit found us placed against a wall, no real view, in a very high traffic area. While the food was excellent as always, this had to be the worst dining experience of the all the years I've been coming to Daniels. To be fair, it is the holiday season and there were numerous tables of loud corporate diners. Hopefully when I return again next week the experience will be back in line with the excellence I've come to expect from Daniels.
The petite filet was melt in your mouth AMAZUNG and the garlic mashed potatoes were the best I've ever had. It was a clear day so we had a lovely view of the mountains. The service was great although our server had a bit of an attitude. Overall I would recommend it and I will definitely be back.
I love this restaurant, but I have to say, this time around it wasn’t a special of an experience. Steaks were all ordered medium rare and arrived three different levels of doneness. Mine was a filet, which came over cooked medium rare and was not very tender . We were seated next to the waiters station, it wasn’t very private and rather noisy. Really, it was all fine for a pleasant dinner out, just nothing special.
Food was delicious as always, and the steaks were cooked perfectly. Service was only so-so, which I'm surprised about as it's usually top-notch. We waited at least 10 minutes after sitting down for the waiter to come by with water, and it felt like we were forgotten or an afterthought during most of our lunch; but when the waiter was there, he was fantastic.
After making a reservation and specifically requesting a table with a view both on line and on the phone, my girlfriend and I were stuck in what looked like the opening of a hallway where she had to stand up to even see out of the window behind me. The windows at eye level to our side were frosted glass and really didn't do much for ambiance or a view...felt like we were next to a shower door...Additionally it was so loud in our space that we had to yell across the table at each other to have a conversation.
Our server, Chris, was a bright spot of the evening as he was very prompt and courteous but overall, despite his efforts, it felt like we were in a noisy dark bathroom .
The food was good, I had the lamb she had the steak, but nothing to write home about for the price. The beef tartar was a disappointment as they served it on a bed of eggs...I ordered beef tartar not eggs...
Overall I will not be going back and I recommend you find a different place when planning a special evening. There are plenty of better restaurants in Bellevue for a special occasion that will definitely provide more value for your $$$.
The service was awesome and they are very well trained. If i could say anything about the service was that they rush too much to take your plate away from you, you finish the last bite and they are asking for you plate. View was very nice and our table was right by the window so you could see Seattle and Lake Washington at night which was nice. The food was average at best for that type of price, $221.00 for dinner for 2 and a couple drinks each...wow! They told us about the steak being char to seal the flavors in it was a little too charred for my taste. We went to Ruth Chris last year and this year Daniels so if i had to choose i would prefer Ruth Chris for the food but Daniels for the view.
I frequent Daniels Bellevue a lot so it was a no brainer to have our girls Christmas party here. While the service was great The food was not the same as what I usually expect when I visit your restaurant. My steak was ordered medium but was served medium rare. When I sent it back to be cooked a little bit more it came back chard and medium well. At that point I settled to just eat it rather than making more of a fuss. We felt rushed and not as relaxed as we would have preferred to be.
We closed a major deal with a Wall Street private equity firm while dining at Daniel's. We chose Daniel's for its menu, location, and exceptional delivery. As usual, Daniel's did not disappoint.
Three of us ordered the ribeye and the steaks were done to perfection. Two others ordered the salmon which more than exceeded expectations.
Daniel's wine list is stellar and everyone found something to their liking.
We chose Daniel's for a reason - exceptional food with impeccable service - and we were not disappointed.
We would not recommend this restaurant, even though the food was great. Our server [#52], provided good service for only about the first 5 min, then seemed to disappear for most of rest of our visit. Not sure if our appearance was "not up to par" for her and the rest of the staff or we didn't order an expensive enough meal or what. We had to repeated wait for water and drink refills from our server, even though there was an almost constant stream of wait staff walking by our table. Perhaps our experience was unusual, but I'd always heard good things about this restaurant, and was very disappointed in our experience. Will likely never go there again.
Good was terrific, service went for over-attentive to absent. My guess is we were early in his shift, then he got too many tables to handle. The prime rib was flavorful and perfectly tender, sadly, the filet mignon was not. We'll try Lake Union before we return to Bellevue.
Made a reservation for a three person birthday celebration about two weeks in advance. Requested a window table, and thought it probably wouldn't be a problem since our time was 6 pm on a Sunday night. No so...restaurant was fairly full, and we did not get a very good table. Took a little joy out of the experience, as the view out over the city is very nice. Service and food was fine.
My wife and i went out for our anniversary and decided Daniels Broiler would be a great spot. The food was fantastic. The service was exceptional. The views are spectacular overlooking Bellevue and Seattle. Thank you Daniels Broiler! We will be returning to dine there !
My reservation was for 8:15 PM. We arrived early for our reservation (7:40 PM) and were asked to wait in the bar. There were 5 or 6 couples who walked up at the same time and did not have reservations. I went back to the hostess stand at 8:15, 8:30 and 8:45. Each time I was told were close. ..at 8:45, all the walk-up couples had been sat and were still waiting. We closed our tab at the bar and cancelled our reservation. We walked across the street to PF Changs and had a great experience. Why bother making a reservation if you are not going to be seated? I won't be back.
Daniels is one of the most expensive restaurants in the region, and they still managed to serve my steak at my wifes medium well to me and my medium steak actualky medium rare to my wife. It was so undercooked by the time it got to the right temp I was halfwzy through my meal.
Minor errors I can understand, but this was a major faux pas. For a $200 dinner for two the meals should be perfect.
The service was ok, a lthough a little distracted. When some somber Alfred from the Munsters delivered my wifes recooked steak he was so somber and had such a sullen appearance I was truely disappointed. Especially when he reached accross the table with his flashlight without acknowledging me-who he was reaching accross.
Not competely disappointed, just had a really below par experience.
My wife and I took her parents to Daniel's to celebrate their 66th wedding anniversary. The dinner could not have been any better than what we experienced at Daniels. We had a great table and our server\sommelier, Ben H, was outstanding. He really went out of his way to make sure the evening was special. Many thanks to Daniel's and to Ben for a memorable evening.
Our server was not a good fit for our group and the food was not impressive (which was sad as it’s typically very good). My father cane home feeling ill and my mother said her filet was not worth the big price tag. I’ve actually called twice in 5 days to talk with the GM of the restaurant but he has yet t
"Our steaks were fabulous, medium rare; cooked perfectly!" Very generous size portion of garlic mashed potatoes, although they could've been a bit more "garlicky", and for the price of their meals, you'd think they would include a vegetable with the entree, rather than charge extra as a side dish?!
Overall a good experience.
Used to love Daniels but seems a bit tired and our service was just mediocre and the atmosphere was lousy - very slow service to begin and even give us attention. Our table was near a crying baby and loud kid who were basically ignored by their parents which was quite the noisy distraction. My steak (bone-in NY) was ordered medium rare and came at medium which was fine but not what I expected - the steaks were good but not great. The Ceaser salad and calamari were good and the sides however were excellent along with the dessert (coconut sundae). I brought a bottle of wine but did order a Manhattan which was just ok as well. All in all I was underwhelmed and slightly disappointed in the total experience with my family.
This was not our first time to Daniels and the service tonight was below average. Service was slow and the waiter forgot my salad. He did offer to still bring it on the house but what was the point since my steak was already on the table. I would have preferred they just comp our dessert.
