Daniel Ratings and Reviews
Dinner at Daniel is an exquisite experience. My wife and I were celebrating our last night out before the birth of our 1st child.
The waitstaff was extremely gracious and took excellent care of us. They pulled out the table at the exact moments she needed to get up, which were several. :)
The dinner itself was a treat for the senses. From the amuse bouche to the very last dessert, breathtaking.
They also gifted us with a lovely bib, parting sweets and copies of our menus at the end of the evening.
Is it expensive? Sure. But you should spending your money on experiences, not things.
Give your loved one this experience and they will surely remember it, and you, for the rest of their lives.
Our entrees (duck & bison) and the amuse-bouche were absolutely fantastic. Escargot, touted as “not usually on menu,” was average. Service was very good with a team of people coordinating the experience. We expected a special meal and the experience to be costly. Having said that, a regular cup of coffee = $13 (not espresso or cappuccino), Diet Coke = $10, and the only Cabernet by the glass = $28. At the end, we felt taken advantage of and it diminished the experience to extent that we won’t return.
My mother and I went Daniel for dinner during Christmas holiday. This is our first time having French and also first time for Michelin restaurant. The restaurant is just located around Central Park, and it is convenient to find. We both have the four-course meal, with $151 each. The food is fantastic, strongly recommend foie gras, which is very smooth and juicy, and the final preparation is exciting for viewing. Other dishes such as black truffle, Colorado lamb, duck, and salmon are also delicious. We had not tried the caviar since it will cost another over $300 extra for 50g, but I believe that would be awesome. The service is elegant and considerate, we have endless bread and hot water and the servers are welcoming and scrupulous, especially they will remove all crumbs after each course. The taste of meal and service is worth for the price. Strongly recommend Daniel for premium French dining and will come again.
I am forced to nitpick here because of the price and the Michelin stars. The food was generally outstanding. My only gripe was service. It was quite schizophrenic. At times rushed, stiff and impersonal. At times (more often) painfully slow. I can compare it to Bouley, which is my favorite restaurant. The service there is regal compared to Daniel.
Daniel restaurant is an absolute culinary experience. The restaurant did everything possible to make us feel comfortable and well served at all times. The food was delicious, the service non-stop and elegant. The wine list excellent. We got engaged and they follow my suggested instructions. This was a moment in our lives that we will never forget...
