What Insiders Are Saying
Our favorite place for fine dining in Manhattan. Daniel is an absolute classic. Save it for a special occasion and eat in the salon, where things are a bit more laid back.
As always, the service was impeccable, and the food transcendent.
Daniel is about as perfect as a restaurant can get!
It is one of the most creative menus with each course served in a most unusual beautiful composition. The quality of the ingredients combined with the expertise of Daniel in combining tastes is amazing. Holy recommended when touring New York City
The food is extremely well prepared and all the preparations are visually artistic You are only offered pre fixe choices. The wine list is as big as the manhattan telephone directory. Try to find a wine by the glass. We opted for the 4 course pre fixe diner w wine pairing. For a tourist it is an event. Possibly worth doing W tip for 2 over $600 However what got me was the supercilious , pretentious Maitre De. It was obvious we were out of towners. We were given a peripheral table not part of the main dining area and close to the kitchen. If you decide to eat here take an umbrella because you will be soaked!!
Did the 7 course tasting menu. It did not disappoint!!
perfect and quiet
We live coming here because, while the food is always creative and wonderful, the service is something you just don’t find much any more. This is an experience not just a meal!
Amazing food and service!
excellent service with freshly cooked food to a very high standard
The tasting menu was good but not as good as usual..... always great service..... wine was mediocre
Like attending a Broadway show— everything is organized, elegant and seemingly without effort. A perfect evening and the waiters and sommelier could not be more helpful or knowledgeable!
We go to NY twice a year. This is our new favorite spot. Food & Service we’re outstanding. Chris our waiter was over the top great.
Exceptional service and highly tasteful foods that looked like art. This was our first time there celebrating an achievement and it was a memorable experience. We were impressed and the wine tasting was a great idea, we were very surprised at how much knowledge everyone had about the ones we were drinking.
Overall I would recommend this place to my friends and family. Thank you for following through on my request to write congratulations doctor on my husbands dessert plate it was the perfect finish to a perfect evening.
The food and wine pairings were superb, but the level of service was what truly set this apart. Stunning choreography in dining.
Fantastic experience. Classy and delicious. Impeccable service
Very nice traditional french "deluxe" diner for our wedding anniversary. it is very good and everything with it, service awesome, wines outstanding, food high level.
Fantastic dinner. We had the great pleasure to chat with Mr. Boulud, himself.
Food was both delicious and gorgeous!
It is always a treat to eat at Daniel’s. Realize when you make the reservation that it is expensive but you get a lot including superb service and unique food choices.
Meal and ambiance was outstanding. Would love to go again.
This was such an amazing experience! Daniel Bouloud is my husband's favorite chef so I treated him to Daniel for his birthday. This restaurant did not disappoint. Everything from the food to the service and decor was top notch. It was a very warm and inviting place and they not only brought out dessert for his birthday but surprised us with 2 extra dessert plates wishing us congratulations when they saw I was pregnant and having our first child. AND they gifted us with a bib. They were amazing! Definitely worth it!
Amazingly the waiter served us from the right side, not the left as it should have been
The signature crayfish appetizer was drowned in heavy sauce. Dessert was ultra gooey. When I couldn't get anyone to share their red snapper for two, they prepared Dover sole for me, less than two inches long and 3/4 inch wide, the size of a small piece of chalk with tasteless tiny potatoes and some awful seaweed. Fish was tasteless as well
Foie gras was good as were the rolls and wine. Really awful dinner
It surpassed our expectations, the food, wine and service were all impeccable. A real treat to fine dining and heightened service that is disappearing these days. Our waiter was very attentive, charming and made my boyfriend’s birthday extra special.
Daniel is a perfect restaurant in all aspects. It delivers sublime food with superb service in an absolutely beautiful dining room. Yes, it is expensive, but well worth the splurge.
The food was phenomenal and the whole experience was amazing! Everything was so tasty and the elegance was superb. This is one of those places where you take someone to impress. Overall marvelous place.
Was a perfect dinner! Great experience and excellent food!
It was absolute perfection. From we arrived at the host station and were seated, every detail was impeccable handled with warmth and professionalism.
Our 2 year old daughter was welcomed with a special gift wrapped package..a beautiful Daniel bib. She glowed as she put it on feeling extra special.
The wait staff, the ambiance, each course, the non-alcoholic specialty drink for my wife (little girl #2 is due September 6) & the immaculately presented dessert with the personal message welcoming them to the restaurant... all of it handled with the utmost care and affection.
Our evening was 2nd only to dinner at the Waldorf Astoria at Versailles Gardens in France. That’s exceptional company to be in.
We look forward to coming back soon.
Exceeded my expectations by a margin.
Overall was a nice experience, great food and ambiance. Staff was very friendly. The only shortcoming was the inconsistent service, took 10mins for anyone to come by our table and get us water. Got one refill the whole evening, and that was only after flagging a server down. Same situation with my tea, inattentive service.
Best meal ever
Worth the bill
And will come again
Superb. Expensive and worth it.
One of my favorite restaurant in nyc
The service is not service... it is hospitality. Very few places truly make the distinction, but DANIEL is one of them. Pressed duck is also at the height of excellence, while the rest of the food is quite different from what you're likely to find anywhere else (ranging from average to exceptional across 14 courses - according to my personal taste).
Our dinners were inarguably out of this world delicious with fascinating flavors and excellent wine pairing. But what really made the meal was the truly kind, unobtrusive, efficient and delightful service we received. Truly one of the two best meals of my life. And I eat well...
Graduation from medical school
I have been to Daniel many times it's my favorite in the city and it never disappoints. What more can you say about the top class operation from the food the service the ambiance all five star
Wonderful experience, friendly staff. Jorge was wonderful and accommodating to all of my allergies.
We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at Daniel's and could not have been more pleased with every aspect of the evening. We were seated in the booth in the back of the restaurant which may not be to everyone's liking but it was perfect for us as it gave us privacy and was quiet for my husband who is hard of hearing. The food we ordered was delicious but the little surprises they indulge you with add to the evening and the waistline. The salted butter from Brittany is dangerous and the warm Madeleines following dessert are sinful. They made the evening even more memorable by printing our our menu and wine selection. We have lived in Paris and been fortunate to experience French fine dining before but Daniel's certainly is at the top of the list.
