lovely evening dining outdoors on the sidewalk Saturday night, weather was cooperative and tables were very nicely spaced to keep social distance, excellent food and service and a nice happy birthday treat for dessert, nice to have had a chance to return to a great place.

Even with a pared down menu and limitations on the beverage and dessert menus, the value of the food and the overall experience was excellent and a welcome respite in these times of COVID. We had a great time

I’m so disappointed about Daniel. Friend recommended this restaurant to me because of its reputation. I was so expected because that was my birthday. But everything was wrong. I arrived there about 6.50 pm and I keep waiting until 7.30. There was a waiter who barely served us that day. When my water glass was empty, he never gave me more water. When I finished my appetizer, I waited half an hour for him to clean my table. The food is not good. Duck has bloody taste and gazpacho is terrible. I Will not recommend Daniel to my friend and never come back.

We expected a good service and food quality and it met our expectations. I wish it was less expensive. The only so-so thing we've noticed in all Boulud's restaurants concept and it is our own opinion - desert is the weakest part in the menu. I believe in restaurant of such caliber the last meal you taste should be 'WOW!'

Wanted to take some family out for a special birthday celebration. Of course with Covid and other the general crowdedness in NYC sidewalks I wanted something thought would still feel fancy but allow for space and fresh air. DBK Terrace was perfect! Food was excellent and creative. Duck breast was perfect - last time I had an outstanding piece of duck I was in Agen, France. We also had a beef dish/short rib combo and fish. Everyone loved their food. The staff was so friendly, not stuffy. Everyone trying their best in challenging times. I am sorry I didn't get our waiter's name since he was just fantastic. Professional and personable. Daniel Boulud came around to every table which was just one more highlight on an already perfect night. Desserts were excellent and we were three people but added a fourth dessert since it was too hard to choose and there wasn't anything left. These are challenging times so splurging on something was just that more meaningful and after months of limited time with family I am grateful to this fine restaurant and the ability to gather and enjoy as if we were almost living in 'normal' times.

Food and service was amazing! One thing that was missing was music. There was nothing played in the background, and that’s what I was counting for, as I wanted to have a romantic anniversary dinner.

Excellent meal!! From the minute we sat down until the check came it was a phenomenal experience!! Daniel knocks it out of the park!! If you can only have one meal in NYC it has to be here! The service is impeccable! The food divine!! He has done a great job in a very tough situation. Kudos to him and his team!

Dining at Daniel was very special. It was our first restaurant experience since the pandemic started and we chose wisely. The wait staff was welcoming, the food superb and the separation between tables outstanding. Between well placed planters and glass dividers, we were unaware of other diners.

My boyfriend and I celebrated our first anniversary at Daniel. The food was amazing and our waiters were so attentive. They introduced the food to us as it came out and even talked to us a bit to find out if we’re here for a special occasion. They ended up giving us a free dessert to congratulate us! The best part was Daniel Boulud was there that night and we got to meet him in person! Best experience ever

I have been living in the NYC for almost a year and this was my first time at this restaurant. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff as well. Daniel is a upscale restaurant, but not pretentious at all, which make us feel very comfortable. I would recommend it and I will definitely come back for another special date.

Amazing experience. Despite it being 90 degrees outside on the terrace, the hospitality, food, and ambiance was lovely. Everyone from the host to the waiters to the sommelier were wonderful. They were kind enough to even keep our red wine at a perfect temperature inside so it did not get even a few degrees warmer while dining outside. Also went for a birthday and, without asking, received a beautiful dessert and candle. All in all it truly is one of the best restaurants top to bottom even outside and during these challenging times. Bravo to everyone at Daniel and thank you!

Outstanding dinning experience from one of the worlds best restaurants. Who would have thought dining on the sidewalk of 65th street would have been such an incredibly wonderful and fun experience. The restaurant hasn't skipped a beat!!!!! We can't wait to go back!!!!!

The duck entree was recommended at medium rare. The duck was well done, when we alerted the waiter he didn’t even apologize for the mistake. Other than that the dinner was top notch.

We are big Daniel fans, unfortunately we did not have the wonderful experience we normally have at Daniel when we dined outside a few days ago. The service was the biggest problem - very inattentive - with food coming out way too fast, bad timing with drinks, food dropped off with no explanation, and no one really checking on us other than the manager when we flagged him down. He seemed to care. The food overall was good, not great, and shockingly, one of our entrees (pork) was overcooked and had to be sent back. The replacement was also over cooked but at that point we didn't bother sending it back again. Perhaps they are still figuring out how to make Daniel work outside with a smaller menu, but we were pretty surprised with the sub-par service and the issue with the food. We will likely try it again because we are big fans, but hopefully they will work on what's not up to par. Can't recommend at this point, which pains me.
