   Since I like spicy food, freinds suggest that we meet at DanDan for dinner. We have been to Han Dynasty (DanDan's owners brother) and found it to be Americanized and spicy because they use chili oil not szechuan peppercorns. Well the family moving to DanDan does the same thing. I ordered the DanDan noodles at a heat level of 5 and found that the bowl of raman noodles with a decent amount of chili oil at the bottom while spicy was no different that the food at a cantoneses restaurant with a container of chily oil. No pepercorns. The main courses were far more tasty, not spicy, more taiwanese. The duck was super. Almost a half of a small duck, some veggies and a sweetish sauce. Our friends ordered a chicken dish and a shrimp dish but because they are reluctant to share and don'r eat spicy I didnt taste them. I ordsered a sweet and sour lamb dish with peppers(peppers had no heat). The lamb was done very nicely and the sauce although was not spicy was excellent. The waiter was extremely attentive and knew the menu very well. Water glasses refill without request. The only drawback was that we were seated directly below the through the wall air conditioner that was blowing on the top of my head. The noice level was not terrible but we were seated back in a cornor of the upstairs under the air conditioner and in front of the wait staff station. Would I go back-probably if the people we were going to dinner with made that choice but I would not make a special trip there for the food. I'll stick to the Cantonese restaurants in Chinatown where we are the only Westerners in the place.

   Excellent food but beware the MSG! The food is loaded with it. The kitchen will prepare without it but unfortunately I had to suffer a two day migraine before I learned there was MSG in the first place.

   Dan Dan's food was great and easy to pick different things to share but the service was poor. The waiter was somewhat rude and had trouble describing the food when asked questions.

   Waiters are so busy to take your order. My wine came after our food was eaten half way. Good food though!

   Amazing dan dan noodles, some great crispy cumin tofu! One downside is - can't come here for dates. It can get very loud here.

   We had a FANTASTIC dinner at Dan Dan -- great service and amazing food. We wished we were with a bigger group so we could sample more of the menu. Yum! Just writing and remembering our meal is making me hungry! I can't wait for our next visit!!

    I have been to Dan Dan multiple times for both lunch and dinner. The service is always 5 star, as well as the food. The servers are very helpful and can always make great recommendations and the food comes out super quick. Whether you're looking for a place to have lunch with co-workers, or a place to have dinner with a significant other, this place is a great choice.
