Flavorful, respectful, playful and seasonal, it’s an homage to the foods of our childhood.
Great selections today! Happy Chicken, Korean Fried Tofu, Beef Noodle and ice cold Miller High Life. One of my family’s favorite 3rd stops!
We had a lovely server. The Peking Duck experience is totally worth it (with leftovers to boot)!
Always an excellent culinary experience. Highly recommended!
As the only spot in Milwaukee serving table side dim sum, I would recommend to others wanting that experience. Overall, not the best dining in Milwaukee.
Amazing annual dim
Dan dan is a
Great food and ambiance! Really innovative food in a relaxing setting
Great food. Quick service. Waitstaff is very knowledgeable. Kitchen is fast
I didn’t enjoy my experience at Dan Dan. The food was ok but I thought it relied a bit too much on garlic and soy/tamari to make an impact. But the worst part was that there was a bolt in our first course. Yes, a piece of hardware that, for the life of me, I can’t figure out how it got in there. It wasn’t small and it didn’t appear to come from a pot or pan. When we told the waiter, she seemed a little blasé about it. I would’ve expected the chef for someone to come out and assure us that they take food safety very seriously and would look into how a bolt got into our food, but no one did. They did comp us that one dish, but that was all. I will not be going back to Dan Dan.
Dishes presentation and food is excellent! I was surprised about the taste of all the food items. I liked that the menu has several vegetarian options since my friend is a vegetarian. The place is so nice and modern.
Great options for a Vegan! Super service. Will be back for sure!
Dan Dan was excellent. We were there to celebrate my son's birthday. There were eight of us. The servers were personable, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was awesome. The drinks were great as well. This was our second visit and there will be more.
Excellent Peking Duck. Lots of nice Dim Sum and dumplings. Wine list a bit lean but nice. Could use a non oaked Chardonnay by the glass. Very good Asian restaurant with very good service.
DanDan has become one of our favorite restaurants. Great food with wonderful spices. The service is always great as well. Whenever we have guests in town we try to take them there.
The service was as wonderful as the food. Can’t wait to go back. Yummy!!!
Really great experience. It was our first time
Dining at DanDan. The Eggs roles were fantastic!
Always amazing food and service! Wish they had something special (dessert, etc) for birthdays though. Regardless, still one of my favorite spots in the Milwaukee area!
I was there with 3 friends and we had to speak loudly to hear each other. I was relieved when we left. One friend ordered the Mongolian Beef because she has consistently liked it elsewhere. She was a bit disappointed because it didn’t have a lot of flavor. Another friend ordered the Singapore Noodles because the waiter told her the other one was high in heat. She wasn’t sure she liked the curry sauce. We were pleasantly surprised by the cauliflower- it was everyone’s favorite. We also liked the pork Satay special which came late because the waiter didn’t hear us order it. Overall, the food was interesting and at least one person said she would recommend it.
The Crab Rangoon and BBQ pork fried rice were incredible!
Great food, waitress, and atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
This was my third trio to Dan Dan, but I brought a group of co-workers wh had never been. They aren't the most adventurous eaters, but we loved almost everything we had. Brussel sprouts and the pork dumplings were the favorites. All of the food was well prepared and presented and the portion sizes were perfect for sharing
I’ll start off by saying that the location and ambience of Dan Dan was nice for a quick dinner before seeing a show, parking after 6 is free on Erie and was convenient. The service was quite nice and our food came very fast, maybe too fast. The chocolate coconut ice cream that I ordered for dessert was the best part of the meal. There aren’t an excessive number of vegetarian offerings that aren’t fried, so I caved and ordered the Korean fried tofu. The dish came with broccoli but I would have liked more of it. I felt that the breading in the tofu had a slightly pasty undercooked taste and it would have been nice to have some sort of extra sauce or something. There was some sauce on the fried tofu pieces but not enough to warrant putting it over rice. My friend had the bbq fried rice and while she enjoyed it enough, she opted not to take the leftovers home due to it being pretty greasy. She enjoyed the takeout donuts very much. I probably wouldn’t go back to DanDan only because there jut weren’t a lot of options that appealed to me, especially for the price. I think if you are curious you should definitely give it a try and see for yourself. Maybe it just wasn’t for me.
Absolutely excellent food! Service was good and the restaurant was very cool. Highly recommend! The crab rangoon was fantastic.
The staff were welcoming, the space was warm and inviting and the food was delicious. I also had a perfectly balanced cocktail, and my husband had some really good Rishi tea. We loved the variety of dishes available, and the umami that was part of every one. There was a positive energy in the space, but it wasn’t so noisy you had to shout to be heard.
The old menu was much better.....I guess it's hit or miss and I prefer the older menu. Even the cauliflower wasn't as good as it used to be. But the Brussel sprouts were still fabulous.
Vast menu with plenty of options that everyone can enjoy. Reasonable prices, great value for the food. Excellent drink menu
All of the dishes were flavorful and prepared perfectly. Preparation and quality of food have improved over the last few visits, not they they were sub-standard before, just perfected now.
We will be back!
Most dishes exceeded our expectations. A couple were disappointing (egg foo young and happy chicken), perhaps because the flavors were not traditional.
I love Dan Dan. Keep up the good work. I have recommended you to countless friends and family.
Great food and experience as always!! The wait staff was great, the food was great and the atmosphere was great!
The food was solid. Definitely some unique cuisine.
Food was delicious and we loved the vibe in there. Will definitely be going back.
Great time as always. Great job by everyone
From hostess, bartender and waitress.
Our service was absolutely terrible and the food that we did get was so salty it was inedible. There was over an hour wait in-between my dish and my boyfriend's dish. We had to leave before we even got his dish. The server kept forgetting our orders and coming back to ask us. Very disappointed.
Birthday. We had a short week for the table, we were welcomed when we got in, and we were waited on very quickly. The food was brought to the table in a timely fashion. We enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Great twist on ordinary Chinese. Don't let the menu fool you-these dishes are novel and well prepared.
I had a friend visiting from out of town, and I thought that it would be nice to check out Dan Dan in the Third Ward finally. The restaurant was in a beautiful location, and the ambiance was lovely! The workers were amicable, and they kept checking up to make sure we were doing alright. The only downside was the dish we ordered. The "Happy Chicken" is what was recommended to us by the waitress. The dish was okay, and it was definitely on the dry side with little to no flavor. Note, both my friend and I are Asian, and we were not satisfied with our decision, and it looks like most of their dishes are on the dry side, so choose wisely. I recommend ordering the "Szechuan Pork Dumplings" and pairing the chili oil that is in the pan with the Happy Chicken. The chili oil from the dumplings gave it more flavor and spice. Aside from this, I would try this place again and use the hack mentioned above.
Great place for friends and family. Dishes are shareable. Healthy vegan options available. Try the cauliflower dish even if you don’t like cauliflower. You will never know. Great place to relax and unwind and enjoy. Can be loud at times.
Great food and great service. They were able to accommodate a group of 12 no problem and dinner was less than $30 a person with tip. Well done. Will be back.
The food is amazing - wanted to try the Vegan dishes and couldn’t believe how great they tasted.
