Kicking off a friends solo trip to Nepal! Great service and attention to her upcoming adventure. She was very shocked everyone knew why we were there. Fantastic place! Great help in ordering things we have never seen before.
Good flavors and fun food but not necessarily the best for sharing due to dish size
i've been here three times. twice for dinner. the two times i've been here for dinner, five stars easy. i went here for brunch last sunday, did not quite make the mark. the food was not quite as good. the service was not quite there. we had a table of six, they served four of us and made two of us wait for our food. that was weird. the service was very slow. when i went for dinner, the service was fantastic. overall the food is wonderful and i think it is a great place. maybe not for big groups or sunday brunch.
Everything is great except for how much they charge for a glass of vodka martini - was in shock when seeing the bill.
A must visit restaurant. Like a trip to Nepal. So warm and friendly.
Great place. Friendly staff and great food!
My friends and I have been returning to Dancing Yak because we love the food there. The dishes are very good and priced right. Dancing Yak never disappoint every time we dine there for lunch. And the portions is good for sharing. A neighborhood gem. Try the Kale Chaat - it is a wonderful salad; also don't forget to try the Chicken Momo - a wonderful dumpling with great sauce. We always order the Tikka Masala Curry here; it never disappoint. Overall, Dancing Yak is a great restaurant for group lunch. I highly recommend this place to my friends.
Great environment and food.
Tandoori chicken platter is a must order and highly recommend several na’an orders for the table. Drinks very reasonably priced!
Great vegan optiobs
Outstanding food and extensive gluten free vegan options
I really liked the food. Great flavors and a good amount of heat. The momo's were a little disappointing (not that flavorful and yet spicy) but the chicken tikka was excellent as was the kale/chickpea chaat. The pani puri liquid was a little too watery in terms of texture I thought (I like it more like tamarind sauce), but the flavor of them alone was good.
The best spot for vegetarians, vegans, and omnivores to gather and have a good meal together!
Good food good value sufficient service.
Really loved this restaurant. Went for a nice long lunch with a friend, eclectic decor, spacious, delicious food, fantastic service this place has a really good vibe.
This is a neighborhood favorite place! The food is incredible!
The food and service was excellent! Will definitely go back :)
Great food, lovely ambiance
In the past we have loved Dancing Yak’s food, but something was just wrong on Saturday. The food didn’t taste fresh at all, specifically the cashew curry. It tasted like old leftovers :(
I made reservation for my birthday 2-3 weeks in advance, but when we got there there was no table ready for us. The hostess, who later said is the owner, tried to put it on my family being 5-10min late (but I was there earlier), then claimed my reservation was for 7pm and I was late (until I showed her the 7:30pm open table confirmation). The whole experience was very unpleasant, and instead of making up for it or at least apologizing she was blaming me and when I pointed out the poor reception, she encouraged me to go eat elsewhere. Which I gladly did. This is the Mission with tons of options within a block or two after all. What a disappointment!
We have been returning to Dancing Yak since our first. My friends/coworkers love the food here because not only they taste good, they are made for sharing. And they give you good amounts here. The service is good too and the restaurant is quiet enough that you can hear each other talk. We will definitely keep on coming back to Dancing Yak.
Love it! Habit forming and delicious!
Good food, though portions are a bit stingy. Terrible service.
We waited 45 minutes to be seated for our 8pm reservation. Seated at 8:45pm after waiting for 30 minutes for a drink at the bar. The food and drinks are amazing but not worth the wait and poor service.
we liked it
Despite the challenge of parking, the gathering of friends (none of us who had been to The Dancing Yak before) was a fine evening of wonderful food. The spicy cauliflower and the kale chaat complimented each other well for appetizers along with the vegetarian momo. The flavors of all the entrees (okra, Daal Makhani, Dhading Chicken and Tofu Tikka Masala) we shared were also excellent.
Almost perfect in most aspects - great food, great service and awesome ambience. The only complaint is that some tables are close to each other, so hard to have a conversation without being overheard.
We were a bit rushed in at first and shuffled around (even with a reservation) , but luckily our server was great and never rushed us through our dinner. Food was also very good.
Great food, great severs, a little slow on the food prep compared to number of people in the restaurant, but I would definitely give them another chance. The definitely had some items I have not encountered in other nepalese restaurants.
Awesome food, service, ambiance. Only complaint is that I couldn’t stop eating.
Great food, wonderfully friendly, personable owner/host (Sarache - sp?)
Loved this place! Great food at a reasonable price.
The staff are great here! The food is quite good as well. I am somewhat new to Napalese food, but this was approachable and delicious. Not too spicy, but plenty of zip. The cocktails were a wonderful surprise. The hostess and our server were super helpful figuring out what and how much to order.
Give it a try. We loved it.
Another great dining experience at Dancing Yak. The hostess and servers are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Great customer service. Food is delicious and perfect for anyone with food allergies. Highly recommend.
Outstanding as always. Highly recommend. Great customer service & delicious food suitable for all dietary preferences.
The food was amazing. The service was mixed. We had the Momos and one of the curries and everything tasted delicious. The waitress seemed overwhelmed and not on top of it. However, the owner made up for the service gaps.
Very nice staff. Very slow service. Uncomfortably hot in the restaurant. Food was good
The food and drinks were amazing! (Get the momos!) Service is great! Can’t complain about this place at all (besides the fact that I spilled food on myself and now have some curry stains)!
First time here and LOVED IT. The food was really really good. We had the saag, the goat Dahl, naans, momos, samosas. All excellent.
Service was ok it was really busy and there was a ton of delivery orders going on. Drinks were pretty slow to come out but wasn’t the end of the world. Our server did a really nice job of getting all our food orders in to make sure we got it in ahead of a big party that came in. Really appreciated that.
Really looking forward to going back!!!
